I've been coming to this location for years, and there is one server who has been there forever who is worth five stars by herself, but the restaurant has lost a bit of its panache (I never get to use that word in a sentence, I feel so accomplished). Back to the story... The food is generally very good, but sans the experienced server, it tends to fall apart. Firstly, the prices are a little high for the ambiance. Secondly, the ambiance is a bit worn for the prices. Thirdly, it's mostly like walking into a mall where over half the stores are now shuttered. It's like they don't care anymore. Lots of unfulfilled potential here. But, the food is generally very good. I almost always get the arroz con pollo (chicken with rice), and it's a pretty full plate (lots of rice). There is the expected Spanish music playing in the background, and the tv's are set to various sports in the bar area. When customers are handed menus that are hard to read, it creates a poor first impression. The plastic covering is so yellowed and smeared that the lettering is nearly illegible. This makes it difficult for guests to even see their options clearly. I strongly recommend replacing or refurbishing the menus so that they're clean, legible, and professional-looking. It's a simple but important fix that will improve your guests' first impression and overall experience. Secondly, when a guest spills salsa on the table, a decent server would notice and clean it up. Instead, the mess just sat there -- like some kind of new table garnish. Not exactly the kind of "flavor" anyone is looking for. The food was the redeeming factor. The bacon-wrapped shrimp looked great and tasted just as good. The Super Burrito definitely lived up to its name, and the picadillo was spot-on. Fix the menus and train your servers to be a little more attentive and this is a 4 star. read more

Nothing special. 2 Modelo Negras and 2 blended margaritas that didn't taste like alcohol. 1 actually tastes like orange juice concentrate. Reminded me of making juice out of a frozen can and drinking it before it thawed as a kid. If you want an average meal and a glass of water for a decent price in a clean setting, give it a try. My girlfriend has the shrimp and mushroom quesadilla and I had the chile Colorado. The quesadilla and beans had some yellow cheese to it. No queso fresco no oxaca cheese. We both became ill shortly after. I had to pull over for my girlfriend to throw up her food, and I spend the night on the toilet. I called and asked to speak to a manager and was told that there was no manager on duty. I called the next day and the manager I spoke said; "well what can I do." I have over 15 years in the culinary industry from working in Vegas. These are signs of a food borne illness, food sitting in the steam table not at proper temp; and expired food being served. I think I had my hopes set too high for PV! I know several people who have nothing but positive things to say about this place. I was so stoked to try it out. Unfortunately, there were only two things that really stood out to me as wow factors. The rice is the best rice I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. So much flavor! Too bad the beans had no flavor whatsoever. Wow #2 was the sangria. It was big and strong! That's a rare combination for a sangria, but I wasn't complaining! The table in the bar had a weird raised tile decoration type thing. I caught my cup on it several times and ended up spilling water in my lap before the night was over. The waitress was ok. This restaurant has a really nice bar there, but NOBODY was in it! They've obviously lost allot of business due to no happy hour, and HIGH prices! This place came highly recommended by my friend so I had to give it a try. We came here for a late lunch with our two littles. Service was good once we finally got some. We spent the first 5-8 minutes standing around and waiting to be seated, no server or hostess in sight. Though once we were seated our service did tremendously improve, our waitress checked on us often and was actually super sweet. The lunch menu was a bit small but they also offer a lunch buffet so if you're not weird about lots of people touching the same serving spoons this might be the way to go. I opted to go with the spinach enchilada which came with rice and beans. My son ordered a quesadilla with fries, it also came with an ice cream cone for dessert so I'm sure he'd rate this place 5* just for that. We shared the horchata which was really good. My enchilada was good, though not memorable. The rice was different, they used more of a sticky rice with peas and carrots which I've never seen in a Mexican restaurant but it was good. My biggest issue was just the initial service and the authenticity ( the rice ). It was good but did not taste as authentic as I'm used to. I got back to table a minute later and we watched this waiter walk bath and forth many times and not inquire if we were ready. After 15 minutes of waiting we got up and left. I normally get better service in the bar compare to the main restaurant. And the Mayan Mexican restaurants service is impeccable compared to this place. Thank you but we certainly won't be returning. I did like that there were several different types of salsa of different spiciness. I honestly could have just sat there and ate just the chips and salsa because they were super good. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and my friend got chicken quesadillas. Well, everyone is right about the portions. They are huge and my stomach gurgled & rebuked the thought that I would be ingesting that super gigante burrito. I set out to prove my stomach wrong. Before digging into the b'rito I had the rice and beans. Again, thanks PV for restoring my faith in Mexican food. Some of the best flavored beans and rice I've had in a long minute. Then came my sad attempt at the attack of the burrito. Madam Veggie burrito was at least 10-12" long and probably about 6" wide. I'll spare the details but I only made it half way through. The veggies were well grilled and the cheese was also very good. There was a large variety of veggies in the burrito as well, which again was nice. The margaritas were just right as well, although they could have been stronger. Isn't that always the case though? I wish there was the ability to select zero stars. We used to come here often and loved the food and service. I understand times are hard since COVID. However, today will be the last time we are patrons of this restaurant. We ordered Carne Asada tacos on Mother's Day. My daughter in-laws plate had bugs squished into the avocado. When we showed them they took the plate to the kitchen. I completely lost my appetite seeing as my avocados didn't look any better so I sent my plate back. They made my daughter in laws plate again. She felt the need to take the avocado off and inspect her food. She tried to eat some of the meat. Our check came and they had both of our meals on there! Seriously, mine went back with one bite. Then when we asked to talk to the manager, she came out and got mad at me for asking that my plate be taken off the bill. Her response was that times are hard for them right now, and she will take care of the bill. The manager sent the waitress back with the revised bill removing both of our meals and then took her food that she had in a to-go container as well when she laid the check down. Never in my life, have I ever experienced such horrible service. This is all after we were seated at our table for 35 minutes before I asked the bus person if someone was coming to our table. The waitress told me oops sorry, no one told me you were here. Do not go to this place and if you do then be prepared to check your plate or don't be surprised if you get a food-borne illness.
