Chicken enchiladas
Michael L.

5 star service and very nice and clean restaurant. I did think the food was a bit on the pricey side and a little salty for my liking. I had the 2 enchiladas. The street tacos did look amazing so I will give those a try next time I am in the area!

This place is a hidden gem!! Everything is super fresh and the sauces are phenomenal. Definitely recommend ordering the guacamole with chips as an appetizer. Service was spot on and the prices are very reasonable. Will be back!!

Red Chicken Enchiladas

Very busy on a Friday evening, but we still were seated right away. Lots of families there so it was very loud with kids running around. If you want an intimate atmosphere this isn't it. We ordered a wet burrito and enchiladas, both were very good. Everything was clean and orderly. Or server was very nice. House margarita was strong, that was appreciated after a long work week. Overall a great place to go, I'd like to try it on a weeknight to see if it's a bit quieter.

Nice chunky guacamole with thick rustic chips that stand up to anything!

Don Juan's is a little unassuming from the outside, possibly because it's in a strip mall! We've learned to never underestimate the power of a restaurant by it's location! The first thing you notice is the decor, it's beautiful! Nice earth tone colors with big-bottomed comfy chairs and rustic wood tables make it super comfortable to relax and enjoy the meal. A great thing we noticed right away was the table for two is plenty big enough, they're usually too small! The service was very friendly and attentive, we never wanted for anything! We each had the Don Juan Margarita and highly recommend trying that one, it was unique and delicious, not too sweet with wonderful new flavor twist of cucumber! We also both ordered the street tacos as we weren't super hungry. Oh gosh, let me tell you, those were some of the absolute best street tacos we've ever had! I had the carnitas and hubby had the carne asada. They were full of flavor, and meat, and the tortillas were steamed nice and soft. We added some guacamole for our chips and salsa and although chunkier than we typically enjoy, it was very good with fresh avocado and just the right amount of flavor. The chips aren't your typical restaurant or store bought chips, they're thick and hearty and super crunchy so they stand up to the fire roasted salsa and thick chunky guacamole, we loved them! Our host at Reed's Sweet Wine in Tacoma recommended Don Juan's and boy are we glad she did! We will now highly recommend Don Juan's as well!

Shrimp Tacos

Quiero más Don Juan's! Heeeeeyyyyyyoooooo! If your in the area and want some super fresh and tasty food served by a true family run staff, then Don Juan's is yo JAM! Shrimp Tacos, with wild caught shrimp from Argentina, was super fresh and had the perfect accompanying ingredients to let the fresh perfectly cooked shrimp shine. Chips and a nice deep red salsa to start? Sí, por favor! A Modelo Especial to quench that thirst? Sí, por favor!

Chicken nachos (before I added the japaleno.)

No service. Waited as others were being helped that came in after us. So we paid for the chips we ate and left.

The service is very slow and the staff is rude. They're more interested in talking to each other than the customers.

A classic Cuban sandwich features roast pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese, dill pickle chips, and yellow mustard on buttered pressed Cuban bread.       Two Broke Chics offered their slight twist on a Cuban. The base line ingredients were spot on and plentiful, especially their pulled pork. I was apprehensive when I witnessed them applying coleslaw to my sandwich as 9.5 times out of 10 I'll push away most coleslaws after one bite. Two Broke Chics' Cuban sandwich was taken to another and much-appreciated level. I'd actually order their coleslaw as a side.   My partner, she-who-must-be-obeyed ordered their Stadium sandwich which is Two Broke Chic's version of a Philly cheese steak sandwich with the added touch of au jus dipping sauce. You're not allowed to dine in at Two Broke Chics and so you're on your own as to where to enjoy their sandwich deliciousness. However, the open kitchen is its own ambiance allowing you to view the construction of your sandwich.   We are now fans of Two Broke Chics, will return and suggest you return as often as possible or give it a go for the first time.

I had the Pesto Caprese pizza and it was amazing! The balsamic glaze added just the right amount of sweetness to bring together the different flavors. My husband had the NY steak and said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and told us how all the ingredients were locally sourced, which is very good to hear because we like to support local businesses. Lastly, the building is quite beautiful with the exposed brick interior walls. I'm not familiar with the local history so I'm curious as to what this building was originally? We will definitely come back and also check out the market next time.

So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

And my family and I had eaten there many times. When my other half looked up at me and said... " This is the best tasting thing I've ever eaten in this building " I knew we hut the jackpot on a new stop for our weekly night out. The inside of the building would be nice if they added more cultural ambiance. I think thier use of bright color and art would look great in there. But other than that, id highly recommend if you like ethnic food. Everything was amazing. ( for those who aren't fond of cilantro keep in mind to ask they not add it )

It would all come at the same time. I don't want it to come at the same time. She actually had the audacity to say well you ordered you can't leave. Well guess what, I haven't been given anything. We stopped by around 1pm-ish on a Wednesday and we were greeted warmly then told to choose where we would like to sit. Once we sat down, we were presented with menus, utensils and waters. We were given ample time to look through the menu as they are an Asian fusion restaurant but definitely more Vietnamese heavy menu with banh mis, pho, bun bo hue, vermicelli noodles, and rice plates. But they do have phad thai, a kimchi salad, fried rices, Chinese dishes and lo meins as well. With recent chilly weather and always in the mood for bun bo hue, I went with that and an order of spring rolls with pork and shrimp while my boyfriend got their General Tso's Chicken with fried rice. The restaurant is bigger than it looks outside. Plenty of seating for all party sizes. They have condiments, chopsticks and soup spoons at the table. They were playing soft music that fit the mood. I love the cozy feeling that the place invokes, almost feels like you're in someone's living room. The service here was friendly from both the lady and man working. They would frequently fill our waters and check in on us. The lady even complimented my pronunciation and asked if I was Vietnamese. The food arrived not too long after the order. My spring rolls arrived warm but that just means they just made it and it was packed with the listed ingredients with a yummy peanut sauce. I was a bit disappointed that the bun bo hue didn't come with the usual toppings like pork's blood, hock and beef shank. I got meatballs, steak and brisket with my order and if I had known that I would have gotten a combo pho instead. She also did ask me which noodles I preferred and I missed the first option, and so I got it with pho noodles but it was nice to know you can have an option. However, the broth was flavorful and savory. My boyfriend's General Tso's was great: good crunch and plenty of meat with a delicious sauce. I definitely would love to try their other dishes.
