    Carne Asa Street Tacos

What a nice authentic Mexican food place downtown! Comfortable seating and cute decor, plus friendly service. Carne Asada tacos were pretty good!

Me and my coworker had a work trip in Olympia, and we wanted to find a good lunch place. We found this place and it had good reviews so we went to try it out. The restaurant is very vibrant place. Lots of great decor. We went a little bit after lunch hour so it wasn't busy at all. We got sat down quite quickly and got our waters and chips and salsa. I had ordered the chicken fajitas with flour tortilla, and the chicken was very well seasoned. While we were waiting for the food, our waiter had asked if we liked spicy sauces and I do but my coworker did not. He came back and gave us two different spicy sauces to try out and that was really fun to taste. I ended up using one of the spicy sauces for my fajitas, which made it even more tasty.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. I asked for my drink blended, but it came out on the rocks. When I pointed it out, it wasn't corrected. The ceviche didn't taste fresh, which is always disappointing when you're expecting bright, zesty flavors. I also had to send back the michelada--their house mix tasted overwhelmingly like soy sauce, which just didn't work. On the bright side, the burrito was actually pretty tasty. It was well-seasoned and satisfying, and honestly the highlight of the meal. Overall, the service was polite but not very attentive, and the food/drinks were hit or miss. Probably wouldn't return unless it's just for that burrito.

This is my daughters' favorite Mexican restaurant in Olympia. Everything is authentic, tasty and it is easy to get something made vegan. This is the only place where my kids actually order off of the kids menu. Instead of cheese on a tortilla or chicken nuggets, there are substantial, nutritious and tasty food options. My husband is a big fan of the vegetarian burrito and he is from Texas. Service and drinks are exceptional. My husband is a michelada connoisseur and he rates theirs as "top tier".

Was recommended here by a friend thats a regular. It's pretty hard finding good Mexican food out here so was skeptical at first however, walking in and notice its a very Californian like Mexican restaurant it fit the scene. Was greeting by our waiter who was respectful and notice everything we needed without us having to say a word. Food was amazing, very flavorful and portions were good!

Chile Relleno. Excellent restaurant with great flavors. Definitely coming back as it's far superior to other places in Olympia vicinity!

I would give this place 4 stars if they bothered to garnish with pickled veggies or cilantro. I really like the Chile Relleno and any of the Margaritas are good. Even the house Margarita is decent. Most places use just a sloppy mix, but they bother to squeeze lime juice and add Tajin to the room of the glass and it just tastes better. They have homemade house tortillas that are corn and they're very good. I'm tired of Mexican restaurants that serve stale chips and watery salsa and I will say that they could do a lot to improve their salsa here too. It tastes OK, but it's very watered down.

We ordered the jalapenos for appetizer and al pastor tacos. The tacos hardly were seasoned, they needed lime and I would have asked for salt honestly. My drink was decent. The jalapenos were charred nicely however it was like bacon bits on top and the cream cheese was cold inside. We were the only ones there during dinner time which was interesting. I do not plan on going back but I do love the decor!

Upon walking in I fell in love with the papel picado and the giant Catrina mural behind the bar. I loved the overall ambiance. We ordered the queso fundido to start with and I ordered the pitaya & it was delicious. For an entree we had the ceviche and the signature carne asada. The carne asada was nice and tender & full of flavor. The ceviche was flavorful and fresh. Our server was attentive and very kind.

Best Mexican food around. Their Quesabirria is the delicious. If you want Mexican food, this is the only place you should go!

I don't know how they have more then a 1 star review. Food had no flavor and my queso smelt like literal throw up.

Delicious food, colorful ambiance, and yummy drinks. Smaller portions than typical Mexican restaurants but worth it for the quality.

Ambiance: The restaurant itself has a nice location (downtown) and pleasant atmosphere/vibe. Definitely Mexican influences throughout! Apparently they have a taco bar (on certain days at least) but I haven't tried it yet. Food: Mostly I've stuck to either their shrimp burritos at the brick and mortar location and their steak burritos at their food truck. Both are always good and fairly good sized - full of meat, rice and beans. Salsas are pretty tasty as well! Prices are a bit high especially for the shrimp burritos - and that's even when factoring in it being a premium-priced meat. But that's my personal opinion, of course. Regardless - prices are within the norms of the day...not insinuating other! Service: while I haven't dined in yet, to go service as always been prompt and efficient. Definitely will remain one of my go to locations when I'm craving a taste of home (AZ). Cheers!
