Yes indeed this restaurant hit the spot. If I wasn't driving I would have sat down and had some margaritas, I saw other patrons consuming them and they had smiles. The staff was friendly and patient as I flippity flopped through the menu. The menu is huge with tons of options, combos, mix and matches, and hidden gems. Of course my order was takeout (side note I had just left the mall across the street so I was a bit hangry). When she brought my bags out I thought she had the wrong order NOPE bring your appetite portions are Large!!

Great ambience. Food is amazing. The molcajete is huge and so good. I brought the leftovers home and ate on it twice more.

My family and I have tried several local Mexican restaurants since relocating to the Gulf Coast from SoCal. Nothing came merely close to the authentic Mexican food we have had until we ordered from El Saltillo!!! We ordered a burrito, fajita nachos, al pastor tacos, and a frozen mango margarita. I tried a piece of the steak from my sons nachos and it was delicious and tender. My boys both loved their food and I loved mine! The rice and beans were so good and not bland at all. The frozen mango margarita was delicious! We will definitely order from here again!

This is probably one of the worst Mexican restaurants I've been to. I've tried it twice now because I always like to give second chances and it let me down again. The salsa had ridiculously large pieces of tomato, the ground beef was pink, the shredded chicken was dry. Our waiter was talking on the phone through and air pod while serving us.

Never got a knife for my carna sada Didn't need it... everything was preheated even the steak

Worst, Mexican food ever... everything was preheated .. asked for a steak knife when the the food was delivered. Never got it... asked for a check wait a very long time for it ... everything was microwaved... good was not fresh what's so ever

One of the best California burritos around and it's even reasonably priced on the lunch menu. The chips are hot and the salsa is good. If you feel like splurging try the whole fried mojarra, yum

El saltillo mexican restaurant is a good choice and a great convenient location. Beach Blvd. by the Edgewater Mall. During the "Cruisin' the Coast" 2018 in Biloxi. They were very busy. But we were promptly seated. Salsa and warm chips then a waitress came soon after for drink and appetizer orders. Once we placed food orders. There was a slight wait. Being how busy they was it wasn't to bad. Salsa was good. Cilantro and onions in seasoned salsa, not just plain tomatoes. Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. Cheese burger & fries. Bean dip, giant extra large burrito, chicken wings, etc...when we come back next year we will stop by here!!!

Fajita nachos hot from the kitchen!

We came here on a visit from SC this week, and remembered this spot from about 3 years ago. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant anywhere on this side of the US! Had the fajita nachos and mushroom quesadillas. Nachos were piled high, and came with real fresh cut jalapeños and lettuce, sour creame and even guacamole, and for a price cheaper than the bigger chain restaurants. The mushroom quesadillas are excellent, with the mushrooms marinated in chicken broth and packed with cheese. The staff was excellent, friendly, and tended to our every need without hovering over us. We were greeted several times by any staff that came near us, making us feel beyond welcome. Anytime we are in town, this restaurant is a must for dinner or lunch!

It's located on the bottom level of the apartment complex on the right side near the main road, there is an electric ring type doorbell you press and someone opens the window for the password. Then the door is opened. The space is beautiful and stylish with a cozy, upscale feel. There is also a sign posted for appropriate attire required, which adds to the classy atmosphere and helps keep the vibe elegant. Building parking is located on the south side and towards the second apartment building. You can make a reservation on their website if you want, but they did mention that their reservation system can be a little unreliable at times. I had a reservation and they were still able to get me in with no problem, but it didn't seem like they saw or recognized the reservation when I arrived. They only serve tapas and small plates, which is perfect for light snacking while you enjoy drinks. The cocktails were really good, fairly priced, and the service was friendly and relaxed. The bathroom was clean, but it is shared (not separated by gender). There is one bathroom inside the bar and an additional one located outside the main bar door in a different location. One small suggestion would be the lighting. It was very bright inside, and a darker environment would really help set a better mood and tone to match the speakeasy vibe. Overall, this is a great place if you're looking for a calm, stylish spot with good drinks, decent prices, and a more mature crowd. It's perfect for a quiet date night or just a laid-back evening out.

We were looking forward to trying it out given all the accolades it has received from a Michelin mention a top 25 new restaurants in Esquire. We left scratching our heads as to how so much praise was given. The ambiance is nice, great bar which is most of the seating good bartenders. The food was much less impressive I started with the steak tartar it was supposed to have a duck egg yolk but it was a cured chicken egg that dint break and it had a strong hot mustard which killed all the flavor. Then I had 2 oysters nothing special. I then had the French onion soup burger. It was way overcooked and the sautéed ions were burnt. Would not order again. They offer caviar stuffed olives don't bother the olives blow out the caviar flavor. My wife had the duck liver moose. It had an orange back flavor that was sweet. The fries, in particular, were some of the best I've had in a long time--perfectly crisp and flavorful. Even the ketchup was outstanding (yes, the ketchup!)--I wish I could keep a bottle of it stocked in my own kitchen. As for drinks, I had the best cognac Negroni I've ever experienced, crafted by Dylan. It was beautifully balanced and expertly composed--truly a spectacular cocktail I won't soon forget. Impressed, I asked him to make my espresso martini as well. Once again, he delivered a perfectly balanced drink that took me by surprise and served as the ideal finale to the evening. Unfortunately we were left pretty underwhelmed with the experience. It's not that Woody's is bad, per se, it just isn't...good. The service was great. Our server, Jaclyn, was very attentive and helpful. She didn't hover but she made sure we had what we needed and was nearby if we had questions or requests. Jaclyn recommended the margarita, which is where things started going downhill. My dad ordered a classic lime margarita and didn't take more than a couple drinks of it. We all tried it and agreed it just had a nasty flavor. Sort of like bad white grape juice? It was weird, and of course there's a little asterisk on the menu that notes all alcohol sales as final. We were unimpressed with that but didn't even try to argue the point. Our food came next. It was actually incredibly fast service, especially considering the 30-top that was seated when we arrived, with their orders given to the kitchen right before ours. Everything was hot and fresh, though not all delicious. Here's a run down of my family's reviews of their food: Build-A-Burger w/ Amer. cheese - A bit too thick and tough like the meat had been slightly overworked, but it had a great flavor and was seasoned well. The edges were burnt and it was well done, not medium well. Good beer-battered fries. Spicy Hawaiian chicken sandwich - Very flavorful and tropical but the toppings made the bun soggy and the ratio of filling to bun was way off, even with ham and lettuce removed. Crab cake tower - The fried green tomatoes and sauce were great, as was the corn bean salsa that came with it. The crab cakes were good too, though nothing special. The shrimp on top were juicy and well-seasoned. Wouldn't go back for it though. Korean pork tacos w/ mac & cheese - They were okay. The slaw included was a bit too sour but the pork was juicy and flavorful. The mac & cheese was too bland. Chicken strips & fries - The chicken tenders were cut wrong so they were hard to eat. I had to cut them up with a fork and knife to get bite-sized pieces that I could chew. They had a good flavor but the technique needs some work. The beer-battered fries have a strange seasoning on them that got more unpleasant the more I ate, but everyone else liked them, so that's probably just me. This is one of my least favorite restaurants we've been to on the Gulf Coast, which is unfortunate because I honestly thought I was going to like it a lot! For the price, I don't think this is a great place, especially because it's pretty out of the way from the main drag(s).
