I was out running errands and became hungry, so I called a order in for chicken fajitas with no rice and no beans. I was told it would be a ten minute wait. No problem. Fifteen minutes later I arrive and go in to get my food and have to wait about ten minutes. Ok,whatever, out comes my food in a big brown paper bag, I paid and tipped and went home. Once I got home, I set it all up so I could stuff my face. Now the problems start. The chips tasted old and stale and good god the salsa tasted of just salt, and only salt. So salty I couldn't eat it, I threw the chips and salsa away and started on the fajitas. The fajitas were ok, I've had worse. They were dry and not much seasoning at all. But... they did get the order right, no beans and no rice. Yay! So now you ask the big question. Will I be a return customer to dine in their fine establishment? Lol, maybe in a year or two when I forget how unhappy I was with the food. Cheers. read more

El Saltillo used to taste amazing about 5 years ago before they moved to the new location in Edgewater Village. I don't know if their recipes have changed or there are new employees cooking the food but there has been a drastic decline in taste. Also, since moving to the new location their prices have risen. The food quality isn't bad but it definitely used to taste better. read more

I ordered the chicken Chimichanga and it was very delicious. The chicken was a bit dry, but the cheese sauce is delicious. Service was great. I shall return back. read more

Not sure if they are under new management or ownership but the food was worse than I remember. The Carne Asada was flavorless. The best items on my dish were the refried beans and cheese. So disappointed with the quality of food. The service was mediocre at best. Very unorganized and only checked on us once. Never again will I eat here. read more

Excellent staff and service. The food was outstanding. Ordered the pollo loco and a single taco. Wife had the chimichanga lunch special and a flauta, flauta was a little crispy for my taste but the filling was excellent. Great overall food and service. We look forward to eating here again! read more

I had the shrimp quesadilla meal and it was absolutely delicious! All the ingredients were fresh and the dishes were sooo bueno!! $13 plus tip for dinner - not bad at all. The servers and hostess were friendly and helpful. I recommend El Saltillo!! read more

This place sucks! I ordered a cheese and onion enchilada with rice and beans and I got a cheese and onion quesadilla. Not even close to the same thing. The waitress passed by three times before even noticing that our drinks were completely empty! Then she asked if we wanted more! Of course I do.. Seeing how you just gave me my food. I'm a great tipper but I'm gonna tip probably about 2$. read more

El Saltillo - Sitting here with empty glasses and chip basket as my waitress passed by 3 times - Mexican Near Me - Biloxi, Mississippi

Just waited for 45 minutes with a group of very hungry friends only to not get any service not even a water and our server apparently couldn't be found anywhere. The service here is absolutely pathetic every single table around us got checked on multiple times by staff, I am absolutely shocked how poorly run this place is after being so exited after getting good reviews of their food from people but only go here if you want to wait hungry and thirsty. read more

I can see why this place has a sad three stars. It is your typical Mississippi Mexican restaurant but a bit less appealing then most. From the bland, cold store bought chips to the slow inattentive servers, this will be a reluctant two star vote for me. Now while nothing was bad in the flavor department, it just lacked a little bit of everything. Our server got two out of three of our orders incorrect and when we tried to get one of the orders fixed, we were a bit uncertain what we were actually going to get charged and if indeed we were going to get the correct item. Sigh..... we were trying to have a nice Sunday lunch with mom and didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I'm not sure if I got charged for my correct enchilada because mom paid the bill and wouldn't let us see the tab so i just hoped for the best. Our server never came back to offer us a refill on our drinks and with the language barrier we pretty much were glad to just get out of there. So here is fact number one and quite frankly a deal breaker for me. Chips and salsa sucked. Deal breaker for sure. Sorry ass service number two. Luke warm plates except for the 'corrected' cheese enchiladas. Slightly higher plate prices compared to the places around the area I have been to. Well enough said. I will most definitely not go back. I would recommend Mugshots next door for a good burger. read more

I absolutely adore this place. Skip the bland Tex-Mex stuff and head to authentic-style Mexican food portion in the back of the menu. The carnitas, carne asada, al pastor, and lengua tacos are all amazing. They work best with corn tortillas, and if you know to ask, there's some great red and green salsa in the back that pairs perfectly with them. The prices are super reasonable, the staff is lovely, and during lunch there is a margarita special. I love introducing my friends to this restaurant. read more

This place is not the best I went in on a Saturday night with my family. Not packed at all. Everything was good so far.... moving on me and my mom attempted to order an shrimp fajita salad and the man brought us a taco salad instead i told are waitress. the whole time I was telling him he was smirking we sat down and waited we looked over and herd the man complaining about are table. Will never go here again I would prefer the one in long beach read more

I recommend this place very often as everyone usually comes back and gives me their race reviews! The prices are not high and the food is yummy! read more

I'm not a "mexican" food expert, but this is a pretty good place. This reminds me of Chi Chis, for those that remember that. I can't think of any Applebee's level of mexican restaurant. It's inexpensive and if you want a silly amount of margarita, this will have you covered. I think they sell a 64oz one, I've had two in a sitting. They're really good. This is my friend's and I usual lunch place. I'm retired but he still works, and I meet him at the Ocean Spring's location. read more

This place has absolutely the worst Mexican food I've ever had the misfortune to eat. That includes Mexican food I've had in New York City! The taco shell was saturated with grease and fell apart when I picked it up. I tried tasting it and the ground beef was flavorless with wilted lettuce on top. The tostada was also saturated which caused it to be glued to the plate. After cutting it, because there was no way to pick it up, the tortilla was thick and greasy with the topping of meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes congealed into a gelatinous mass of inedible goo. The salsa tasted like someone opened a can of crushed tomatoes and dumped in some Mexican oregano - a LOT of oregano. I tried a shrimp el Diablo dish. This was another can of crushed tomatoes with some non-descript spice thrown in. The shrimp was over cooked and mushy. For some reason both the taco/tostada plate and the shrimp dish came with French fries??? -and no retried beans (maybe I should be thankful for this because the fries were the only thing that even approached being edible). I would not classify this as Mexican food. Actually, I wouldn't even classify it as food. read more

Good basic mexican food. Kat said the chili rellino was very good. I had the Chicken chimichanga and it was very good. Service was quick and curtious. read more

Use to hsve the best relleno... Was there Tuesday 9/22...and it was awful! I coukdnt even cut it with a knife. It was rubbey and tasteless. Something has happened, maybe a new cook, or new owner. read more

Terrible service she had an attitude when asked questions the margaritas are terrible no kick to them at all just all around bad visit

First time I came to this location, I ordered Pollo Felix. First bite had a hair mixed into some stale rice. Disgusting. I feel dirty just sitting in the booth. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants within 15-20 minutes of here that are far better than this one. read more

Our server is beyond slow as the fucktook 45 minutes to bring out my margarita and will not fill up our waters at all.

This was the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Amazing prices and great taste! Would recommend for sure!

should have known what I was in for when the (Cedar Lake Rd) place was nearly empty on Mothers Day.My beef bean and cheese nachoes the flavorless meat fell off the chips because there were no beans and almost no cheese to hold the meat on. Almost no meat on the grande quesadilla and no cheese.Never going here again read more

I'm here from Pennsylvania and saw this place was nearby with some delicious options. Ordered the Zacatecano with grilled chicken to go while shopping nearby. It was ready for pickup within 10-15 minutes and I have got to say it was Delicious, Healthy, and Filling for the price. The salsa is also perfect and bright with flavor. The Zacatecano was just unbelievable and I will be ordering again! read more

Best Margaritas! Food and drinks are delicious! Chips & salsa to start. Got the pollo loco. Delicious! read more

We were served a margarita with a roach in the drink. The waiter shrugged his shoulders and said he must have been in the ice. Terrible....after that bad experience they still made us pay for our dinner. read more

I ordered the burrito supreme. The beef in it seemed kind of oily a to me but besides that everything else was good. The chips and salsa was excellent. read more

If I could give 0 stars then I would for this place. The waiters are rude and their happy hour specials are a joke unless you specifically tell them to give you the happy hour special even if you order the HH drink during HH. Unbelievable. read more

The place looked really nice the booths were separated well. Our server was not the best but she did okay. The salsa was not appealing it was very watered down and bland. Although I had the chicken chimichanga and it was very delicious! read more

Food was good, price great; service eeehhhhh not great but we will definitely come back!

I will not return to this one, ordered the Churrasco that I have had twice at the Cedar Lake Rd location, and it did not taste anything like it should have. Could not taste the steak or onion. I don't know if the oil was bad or the grill was dirty but not trying this location again. I will further away for a better meal. read more

Last time here received terrible service. Decided to give it another chance - mistake! Terrible service again. Had to flag down a waiter to order then received no follow up service. Food about a B but overall experience is an F. There will be no third time! read more

My wife and I have been coming to this place just about every week for a couple of years! I usually always order the same item but on the last visit I was charged almost doubled what I had been paying. When asked why the server stated the guy in charge made her charge me for a whole meal instead of how I had been getting billed for so long. The server and the server from the week before agreed with me on how I should be billed so when I asked the "man in charge" he thought he needed to give me a lesson on the menu! He did me a "favor" this time and charged me as I have always been charged but for now on I would have to order correctly. Now don't get me wrong the food, drinks and servers are great and yes it took this one incident for me to make a comment but that's all it takes. If not for the "man in charge" you would be looking at 5 stars! read more

Great food! My boyfriend and I stopped by here for lunch. Both of us love Mexican food but it's tough to find really great Mexican restaurants sometimes. This place exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was clean, service was great and the food was delicious! We ordered tacos and the huevos con chorizo. Everything tasted fresh and had just the right amount of flavor and heat. The guacamole and salsa also tasted fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for inexpensive tasty Mexican cuisine. read more

One of the best mexican restaurants I have been too. When with some family from Long Beach and was not dissatisfied at all. Got the California burrito and it was delicious. read more

Love their thin, crispy chips. Good salsa. Nachos al carbon with steak are delicious. Sopapillas are small and expensive.

One star because one had to be given. Family of 4, waited 10minutes to get seated, someone brings chips and salsa then won't take our drink order. 15 minutes passes guy comes up and gets our drink order. Food comes out 35-40 minutes later(there were 5 tables filled in the building). My husbands salads has cold chicken on it. He can't even eat it. My shrimp quesadilla was cold. My kids got cheese quesadillas. Those were warm. Terrible service, terrible kitchen. Won't be back. read more

We were a group of 6 and went there for lunch. The margaritas were just OK but the food was terrific. There were some vegetarians in our group so we asked lots of veggies in our dishes. The food they brought was really tasty. We loved chimichanga and the fajitas read more

my husband got the chicken quesadilla and felt that they used shitty cheese for the quesadilla. he also got the enchilada, a burrito and a taco he believes they had been unoriginal and the ground beef used for them was undercooked. my fish on the other hand was cooked to perfection even though I was the first to order I was the last to get my food. our waiter was a good guy but he wasn't really around, but on the other hand he could answer questions about the menu and new what number you wanted from what you told him. I did have a problem with the little flying bugs those were pretty annoying. read more
