My husband & I have started to frequent Juan's for the past few months now. Their location is super convenient. Right off of Highway 90. The restaurant is large & they have recently upgraded their outdoor dining area so if you want to sit outside you can also get a great view of the beach. The food is great & affordable. Our new favorite thing to order is the Sampler Appetizer which includes chicken flautitas, steak & chicken quesadillas, mixed fajita nachos, served with white queso, lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo & sour cream. You get all of that for $14.50! It's plenty for my husband & I to split & be completely full. They also offer two for one margaritas. The servers are very friendly as well. I definitely recommend Juan's when you're hungry for some great authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

I've ordered takeout from them twice. The first time, I got back to work and saw that my order was wrong. I couldn't eat what they gave me. The second time the order was correct it just wasn't made like I'm used to. The Queso Fundido was definitely different. I'm used to it being queso like the dip with chorizo and what I got was cheese that was melted yet solid. The chorizo was on top of the cheese. When I say solid, I ended up cutting it with a knife. Delicious food and margaritas with a view! After being super disappointed in Happy Hour and service at Patio 44, we kept going down the street and landed on Juan Tequila's. The restaurant is bright and colorful and works for parties of all sizes. There's plenty of parking available in the lot, as well. Our waitress greeted us with a bright smile and sat us at a table on their balcony with a view of the Gulf. Because it was happy hour, we ordered their "two for 5.99" margarita special. The margaritas were delightful. We also did an appetizer sampler and it was the perfect treat to go with the margs. Everything was delicious. Our waitress kept checking on us and kept the chips and salsa coming! It was such a great experience and I definitely plan to come back soon for dinner and I have to try their to-go daiquiris! Daughter wife and I went to lunch here. Wife and and I had taco salads with ground beef some side jalapeños and verde sauce they were totally killer. Our daughter had vegetarian verde tamales. Everything was incredible. Our waiter was amazing he knew of orders we placed before what we wanted. Restaurant was nice lots of tvs so you could watch the PBR. Red snapper was old, fishy and the texture of jerky, i literally had to use a knife to cut it. My friend got fajitas and the beef was tough and had a mushy texture. It was like all of it was very old, possibly cooked then frozen then cooked again. We were genuinely afraid we'd get sick eating it and stopped after just a few bites. The salsa was watered down. It had almost no flavor at all, again we each ate one chip with it and stopped. We aren't that picky, we are easy to please as long as the food it hot and the margaritas are decent... which the margaritas were... Truly hope it was just a bad night. Accommodated my little guys request as best they could for a burrito that was not on menu and made to order. I was all prepared to come and write a glowing review of Juan's after my first visit. Then I visited a second time and realized maybe that first visit was a fluke. The Mississippi Gulf Coast has experienced the post K influx of Spanish speaking residents just like the New Orleans area. Just like in Nola, that has lead to huge gains in the quality of restaurants serving Mexican and other Latin cuisines. Juan Tequilla's is a pretty straight forward Mexican restaurant. Raised to avoid storm surge entry is via very colorfully painted stairs that lend a festive feeling to the entryway. Inside the dining room is pretty much one large room. That means that when it's crowded, it is incredibly loud. On my first visit our server was friendly and attentive. On the second it was less crowded and our server forgot we existed. The food we tried ranged from great to awful. The combination enchiladas were great. I liked being able to try all the different types on one plate. The shrimp were the star of the dish with the chicken and sour cream a close second. The fajita combo I had was one of the worst fajita platters I've ever had. The plate came out so hot that the meat continued cooking far beyond where it needed to be so it, and the vegetables ended up burnt. That coupled with no real flavor ruined the dish. I'm not sure why the more expensive fajitas couldn't be better than the enchiladas, but they were not good. Will I be back? I'm not sure. If I do return, I will make sure I don't order fajitas. read more

Came in for a quick to-go order, and was met by an incredibly inviting and welcoming staff. I was provided a clean menu and a comfortable area to sit while i waited. During my wait for the food, staff asked if we were helped and even offered free drinks on the house. They gave us our food with a smile, gave us 2 free samples of the cheese dip, and a coupon for a free margarita next time we visit. Needless to say, we will be using this coupon very soon. Our sons food came out cold, server couldn't be found when we got our food and needed silverware and napkins, no refills, she never even put our toddlers order in until everybody was finished at the table and after we asked her for it. With 3 tired kids, we waited 20 minutes for the check before having to go up to the bar and ask for our server to get the check. Salsa and chips came to the table in Togo canisters and they offered no refills. $55 to have two of our kids food forgotten and terrible service, the food was not good at all either, we won't be back. We went and the parking lot was empty and usually that's scary but we heard through word-of-mouth that it's good, so we went in. Got white cheese queso as appetizer and it was perfect! So creamy and yummy! I had the chicken diablo's that were highly rated but I rate them at 3-4 stars. They are non-greasy piece of chicken, slice of jalapeño, wrapped in bacon and covered in cheese. The chicken was dry and the cheese hardened by the time the plate hit the table. So ehhhh, not perfect. Husband got shrimp diablos and thought it was delicious. Decided to try this place out on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon and it was really good. Sat on the patio to view the beach. The service was good, everyone was very pleasant and really accommodating. The chips come with salsa and some type of seasoning on them. They were regular, not bad. I had the shrimp quesadilla and it was delicious along with an afternoon Margarita! This is one of the few places that offer black beans so that's a plus! I would definitely recommend this place as well as the meal! I'm from California and pretty picky about my Mexican food. I was excited to try the deep fried avocado but was underwhelmed by it. Pretty bland and greasy. The rest of my dinner was ok not bad, not great but ok. The margaritas were weak. I'll give them another try and change up my selection to see if it was what I ordered. The server was sweet but over the top with the mamacita she kept calling us EVERY single time she came to the table. This was my 2nd time at Juan Tequilas and it was good again. I had the stuffed Jalapeños with Steak this time they didn't come with rice and beans but they were wrapped in bacon and had cheese melted on top. My Aunt had Chicken Fajitas with Rice & Beans and my grandma had Cheese Enchiladas with Rice and Beans, they both said that the rice was a little salty. Towards the end of the meal the restaurant started getting a little crowded and our server didn't pay attention to us, we ordered Sopapillas and I guess our server forgot about them because we never got them. Top to bottom fantastic experience here! The stuffed avocado is BEAST. I'm telling you this thing is the Michael Jordan of appetizers. Fried avocado stuffed with cheese and steak.
