I haven't had a problem there the margaritas were good and the fajita I ordered was great too so I would say it's worth the visit.

Might be my worst Mex. food experience! The server gr "greeted" me with "how many". I walked in alone. No welcome,nobody at front entrance. She pointed to a small table. Ok, get a menu. Ask for a margarita, and different tequila. Got a shrug. ? What ? Tequilas tequila,she said. Do you have different, shrugged again. So I opened the menu & there was an insert about drinks, exactly what I asked about but was Not told about. I ordered a safe one. Chips & salsa OK. Chicken enchiladas Verde. Dont they get baked anymore. shredded chicken, unimpressive,in tortillas,Blah, with a vinegary green sauce,not spicey,piquant. Then, were the beans ! I know they are made there because all I got was a puddle of bean colored water! With my fork I swam through the mulk to not find any beans! Do they not care? Worst Mexican food I have ever tried to stomach. I order 1 cheese enchilada in white sauce, rice and beans. What I got 10 min later was 1 beef enchilada with some brown sauce, beans you could drink from a cup and I took one bite of the rice and asked for the check. The waitress could tell I hadn't touched my food and charged me full price of $17.00. No manager, no discount. No problem. Attempted order via phone based on menu options listed on their website. WHAT A FRIGGING MESS. There must be at least 8 different menus between their website and on yelp. I specifically read the items I wanted to order. The first woman stated they didnt have such items, questioned f I was sure their establishment was the location I wanted to order from, then passed the phone to a different lady. Once again I was told they didn't have the item. After trying to order just this first item, I gave up. They really should consider cleaning their website pages, updating their menu accurately, and have an understanding of call in orders. We found the food very good and large portions. We went with a group of 20 and the food and service were both good. I did have a little trouble talking to the server but she got everything straight with no problem. All 20 meals were brought out at one time and all were served hot. I read the 1 star reviews and was apprehensive about going there. I don't see how anyone can complain because the food isn't flavored to their taste. You eat at a restaurant for their flavor. Cook at home if you want it to your taste. Also, the restaurant does not advertise "Authentic Mexican" and most restaurants have their own take on how to make a dish. That's what make trying different restaurants and finding the ones you like best. No, it seems the servers only spoke a small amount of English but they did take good care of us, refilling drinks, usually before it was empty and checking to see if we needed anything else. I would recommend that if you want a Mexican meal, you try Fiesta Mexicana for yourself and you decide if you like it or not. We liked it. read more

Salsa didn't taste well, something was off with it, chips were store bought, my food was cold, another person ordered something with beans, the beans had the consistency of soup, very slow service. Had margaritas, tasted too sweet, and don't think it had liquor in it. One person in my group couldn't eat hers, said it didn't taste good and was scared to eat it, sent it back. read more

After living here for years and then moving to L. A. for a couple of years this place would have been ok. But, now since I know what real Mexican food could or should be this place doesn't live up to what I've been eating the last couple of years. My wife and I ordered chips, salsa and white cheese dip as our appetizers. The chips were stale, the salsa and white cheese dip tasted like they came out of a can. Not a very good start to our lunch. Wife ordered the fajitas and the only good thing my wife had to say was the steak and chicken came out sizzling lol... The meat could have been seasoned more. I ordered the beef and cheese chimichanga and boy was I so disappointed. I thought chimichangas are suppose to be deep fried? Well, at least the ones I had in California we're all deep fried. This one was more like a wet tamale. The beef inside was ground beef and there was no cheese on the inside from what I could tell. It did have an ok green sauce on top. The rice and refried beans were ok. Needed more salt or some type of flavor. All in all California Mexican food has ruin me and my wife. All we could talk about were Melody's in SFV and Don Lalo's in Ventura lol... There are plenty of other good / great Mexican places to eat in California but, those were the ones that came to mind. read more

This is the best Mexican Restaurant in Long Beach and probably in the running for best on the coast. I've had pretty poor luck trying to find good Mexican food on the coast when I venture away from BSL. I almost didn't go here because my other two experiences were so poor. But I am glad that I did. One thing that convinced me to come here is that they were open on a Sunday. Hardly anything worth eating is open on a Sunday here. As I entered I was a little worried. The place was deserted. That fear was soon erased once we sat down. Service was prompt and friendly. They did give me a lemon with my water, but whatever. The salsa came in a little glass container with separate bowls. I love that since my kids don't like their salsa hot and I do. It was pretty good as salsa goes and had a good medium thick consistency. We also ordered a white cheese quest which was very good. When dipping from the quest to the salsa it was pretty much the perfect bite of food. For my entree I got the combination chicken, steak, shrimp and chorizo fajitas. I believe they are number 46 on the menu. They were number 1 in my book. The meats were coked perfectly and served sizzling. Despite that lava hot plate, none of the meats were dry and overcooked. I bet their marinating game is strong because each bite was better than the last. It came with three flour tortillas and there was probably enough meat for three more. Awesomeness. Took my wife to this joint yesterday for a late lunch. Ten minutes after being seated, and there were maybe five tables seated, one of two waiters took our drink order. Got the two tea's and gave him our order. 40 minutes later, no food. 50 minutes after we walked in, we walked out, with no lunch. They didn't care. First time we ever had a bad experience with this restaurant. Not giving them another chance. We went on up Beatline Road to Beachside Grill, the food truck across from Subway, just before the traffic light at I-10. Carla, the owner, was fast and friendly. Best authentic taco's ever! So disappointed. Stopped in here on my lunch break. Ordered the lunch chimichanga with a side of rice and beans. It came with the chimichanga on top of the beans so that it was mushy on the bottom. I asked for a new one without beans. Server brought me a "new" one. Beans were still stuck to the bottom, they re-plated it. I asked the server for the check for my soda. She argued with me about it not being correct until I showed her the bottom of it. She then said that I should have read the menu better and brought me my check. No remedy was attempted. Fiesta Mexicana is the renamed and moved El Nopal. The food here is pretty good with a very nice and comfortable atmosphere. We dined in around 4 PM on a Friday. It was clean and tidy. Our waitress was attentive but not bothersome. The food was average to a bit better in taste than many but not outstanding. I would probably go here again if in the area and did not want to drive to Pass Road for the best in the metro. The chips and salsa were plentiful but average in taste. I had the Chile Relleno dinner. The batter was light but the filling was runny and more of a sauce inside than actual Oaxacan "string" cheese. The dish overall was generous and tasty but of standard fare. My partner had Enchiladas Acapulco. The description read filled with crabmeat and shrimp. The "crabmeat" was actually chopped crabstick (surimi or fake crab) but she reported it tasted ok. I hate it when restaurants give bogus descriptions like this especially in coastal areas. Tell it like it is--its fake, no crab in it at all or maybe just a minute aromatic essence. They do have horchata and other aguas frescas which is a plus. The bill was average as well not too expensive and not too cheap. Overall there are much better Mexican places in town but it's no better than A-OK. read more

Everything I've tried is amazing and fresh as always!! We've switched a couple of months ago from another Mexican restaurant and haven't looked back since!! We crave this place all the time and go several times a month. We've always had fast service and usually in and out within 30 mins and that's not rushing. This delicious gem just opened late July 2016 and my family and I enjoyed a fresh delicious meal here. Everything we ordered was fresh and to our standards. We had the shredded chicken nachos and asked for the cold ingredients be on the side. We enjoyed fresh tasty salsa, fresh crispy chips, and very delicious cheese dip while waiting for our nachos and side order of a flauta. We were blown away when our meal arrived and also very glad we split the order. It was huge! They definitely delivered and we certainly enjoyed everything we ordered. The atmosphere is very nice and new, and the restaurant is bigger than you think looking at it. The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 are because the waitress wasn't completely familiar with the entire menu. They haven't quite been open a month, but she should still know it cover to cover. Simple fix though. All in all it was a delicious dining experience for a great price. We have enjoyed Fajita Mondays and Taco Thursdays on a few visits . Food is good , chips could be warmer when they arrive at the table . What is SEVERELY LACKING at the lunch hours , when most diners have a limited amount of time before heading back to work , is the lack of servers to take care of the customers . Each time we have gone in , we have had to seat ourselves because they are either in the kitchen or certainly away from the door . Between getting seated , waiting on our server , drinks , food and for the server to check back on refills , WHATEVER , ( when and if that happens ) it can be very frustrating . Hopefully they will see this problem soon enough and correct it . Again , food is good . If you are on a tight schedule , you're taking your chances :( read more

I've been here twice and it's my favorite Mexican restaurant. They service is nice and fast. There could be a little more tequila in the margaritas but other than that this place is great. The chimichanga is my favorite ( I can't believe the review that says their chimichanga was touching their beans and that's why they gave a one star review ). When this was El Nopal it was so good - now it is horrible - it's so big and noisy. The Fajitas were horrible the chicken was so dried out and tiny- the salsa tastes like Tomato juice and so thin - the chips were horrible too - what happened?
