We enjoyed El Chilango so much that we decided to go back again tonight. The food here is excellent. Great service, a convenient location, extremely fair pricing all adds up to what is our new favorite, and go to, place for Mexican on the coast. We found it as the result of an article in the Biloxi Sun Herald naming it the best Mexican restaurant in the state of Mississippi. I haven't sampled Mexican food throughout the state, but as far as the coast is concerned, I can say that this is, if not the best then, one of the best. Don't wait, go get some. read more

We went for lunch on a Saturday and we were immediately greeted and seated. We ordered queso and guacamole and it was plenty to eat with the delicious tortilla chips. I ordered the Huaraches and it was delicious! You could tell the tortilla was freshly made. The steak was tender and flavorful. First time, won't be my last! We went for a super early dinner on Taco Tuesday. We were a shade too early - the frozen margaritas weren't frozen yet. Disappointed! But, that was the only disappointment I experienced. Chips and salsa were great. Take a peek at the picture and you'll see they add a little salt and seasoning to the chips. I had the cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. Delish! And the serving size was just right. Full, but not stuffed. My parents split a bowl - beef I think. They enjoyed it. The service was top notch. Food was disgusting! The queso was super runny with zero flavor. The customer service was on point though.

The service is amazing our waitress was super sweet. They seem to have a great environment and while pretty busy they were not ever overwhelmed and had seating available on the day we went for dinner. We were sat and waited on instantly. The food was absolutely amazing. Salsa and chips were 10/10 and some of the best Birria tacos I've had. Prices were very reasonable and definitely not as expensive as other places around. read more

Our First visit to El Chilango was wonderful. We love Chicken Tortilla Soup and eat it whenever we go to a Mexican Restaurant. Their Chicken Tortilla Soup is Fabulous. It is very Fresh Shredded Chicken Breast, Full of Veggies, Very tasty Broth, and all the fixings like Avacado, Grated Cheese, Diced Tomatoes, Lettuce and Tortilla Strips Served on the side. Stopped in here tonight with family. We had a group of 6 and got seated promptly. I had the Huaraches and it was absolutely fantastic! Full of flavor and the pickled onions added a great flavor to this dish My wife had the taco loco and she was highly impressed!! The manager and my apologies to him for not catching his name,but he came by our table to ask us if we had been there before or our first time,which it was . He proceeded to ask us what we had decided to have and gave us all advice on our choices. And i honestly appreciate that. Service was fast and friendly and they kept all of our drinks full. The food was just okay. I hade the steak machete (Mexican quesadilla) , the meat was tender it just lacked flavor. Everything needed just a little more salt. WOW! Just WOW! Arrived at their rush hour, but was greeted hospitably as we entered, and seated promptly. Our order was well received by Osmar. Upon inquiry regarding their Surf and Turf he gave a spot on description of it being delectable. It was a hollowed half pineapple filled to overflowing with steak, chicken and shrimp along with pineapple chunks, sautéed green peppers and onions. On the side was refried beans, rice, sour cream and a lettuce mix to fill the three soft taco shells. Simply amazing! Osmar was just spot on with this one! My husband had the soft shell taco plate with ground beef and inhaled it before I was even halfway. He said the taco meat was very tasty and overall agreed with me it was the best Mexican food we'd ever partaken. Our order arrived at our table in no time after we placed it. The restaurant is not very big to meet its popularity, but was clean and inviting. Osmar came right over to assure we were comfortable and to answer any questions. If you don't try this restaurant and soon it really is your loss. Not too often I've found a place to meet my level of perfection, but this place does! The food is authentic Mexican. Authentic food and great service! This restaurant opened near my house and I decided to go give it a try. They offer more traditional dishes from Mexico city over standard Tex-Mex which I enjoyed to see. I ordered the slow roasted pork and have no complaints it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and even explained and broke down some of their dishes to us as we weren't familiar with. The restaurant is clean and well put together, I visited the previous establishment and was impressed with how they've used the space compared to the previous, it is a bit on the smaller side but it is utilized extremely well. Overall, loved this restaurant, the food was great, service was great, and I will definitely make this a staple spot for me. read more

Went with a friend for lunch after seeing good reviews on this restaurant. It was busy but the interior was pleasant. This was honestly the worst Mexican food I've ever had and I'm including Taco Bell when I say this. I ordered a burrito as I always do on my first visit. First, I received the wrong protein but because there was so little of it, I was not sure at first. I was served a chicken burrito. There was no sauce on it. It was filled with nothing but watery beans and guacamole and was runny and tasteless. It was served with fries (?). My friend had stuffed avocado with chicken. It too was pathetic although at least you could tell it was chicken. Just plain avocado halves with a little bit of shredded chicken on top with about a teaspoon of sauce (or cheese) on top. Even their salsa was bland and not a chunk of anything in it - super thin. Don't tell me this is authentic because I am from Southern CA and have stayed in Mexico City. Our waitress was nice and a bit overwrought. No complaints with her. It was not even cheap for the quality of food ($16 for burrito). Too many good Mexican restaurants around to bother with this place. read more
