    Delicious food cooking

We just landed in Arizona for the first time and this was the first place we chose to eat. Amazing choice. The food was incredible. Fresh, seasoned to perfection, quick and the staff was very friendly! Would eat here again in a heartbeat.

20 out of 10 stars! This place is my favorite business in all of Arizona. This is the best chicken I've ever had. I stumbled out on it a few years ago when I took a wrong turn. I saw the smoke coming out of the business and the bright colors and I thought to myself - this is authentic and this is going to be delicious. The business I was trying to head to (Escape Campervan, which is just around the corner) had an employee there who told me he eats here for lunch all the time as it's the best chicken in the Valley! Let me tell you. It did not disappoint. Literally every time I visited Phoenix I would come here. And then when I had the choice to move here my first thought was - oh yeah, I get to have this chicken. Their charbroiled chicken is better than the barbecued rib in my opinion but either are delicious so you cannot go wrong. Their macaroni salad is also great. Make sure to check your order before you leave. Service is fast but they can mix it up by accident (happened to me, so sad, but thankfully I noticed). Don't be daunted if you don't speak Spanish. The menu is also in English and Spanish. Just point and you'll be fine but chances are you'll be served by someone nice who speaks English. This place is great. Update: They do accept credit card with a 3% convenience fee added. They now also let you give you a tip if you pay through credit card.

    Chicken

Chicken was amazing especially lots of lemon ,a bit of tapatillo , on a fresh warm tortilla. Next level if your hungry. Customer service was awesome. Will go again.

This is the best chicken I have had in Arizona. If you love bbq chicken this is the place.

Heading back home from the May 1st rally/march I was hungry and headed to the Ranch Market on 16th St to get some chicken and tamales. When turning off Jefferson onto 16th, El Pollo C caught my eye and I thought... must be worth a try for a chicken place to obviously last so long on this nondescript corner. Seeing the wood carbon charcoal and ample grill I knew that they were old school asadores. Bottom line...very good chicken and home made tortillas. Not the ambiance or ample menu of the Ranch Market, but great for take away. I think it may be worth a taste test between these two classical places to see whose chicken rules the day. It may even be a tie...no loser for sure.

The ribs/costillos! Super bomb! Hot and fresh!

I wanted to first off say this chicken was the best tasting the juiciest chicken. We walked in and it was busy. The place was small has a few tables. We got lucky and got a table! Ordered the 1/2 chicken and half ribs / Costillos. It came with corn tortillas and some sides. Pickled onions. Salsa. It was good. Ordered some beans and Mac salad. The beans were hot and tasty. Perfect actually. The ribs were crispy and seasoned just right for me. The chicken too. First bite. Really juicy and flavorful. I couldn't put it down. But had to dig into to those ribs. Like I said these ribs were a throwback to when I was a kid and my pops would bbq some ribs. No sauce just salt and pepper and charcoal. So good! Our first time here and we'll be back.

Food is great but pricey for chicken. Paying for the taste, I haven't found a place as good as this place's chicken. Whole chicken is $20

He mentioned a pickle martini, which I ordered at lunch and was very good. My wife ordered the welcome burger and enjoyed it except for them getting the toppings wrong. Our granddaughter really liked her mac and cheese and there was a generous serving of sliced fruit. And my Jose Burger had just enough spice and was very tasty. That what's the good. So we stopped here for lunch on a Friday about 12:30 with our 3-year-old granddaughter. Our initial server barely said two words to us and we felt like we were an imposition. When we ordered my wife asked did they have Pepsi or Coke products he said we have bottles and cans of everything, so she ordered a Coke. It was Mexican Coke which is fine, but $5, and it wasn't until we noticed other people had cans of regular Coke and realized he did not give us a choice. When we ordered our burgers, again he barely said two words and did not ask us how we wanted them cooked even though the menu says cook to order. When we got them they were very rare, see the picture, which we're okay with although we would have ordered them a little more done. My wife said no onions on hers, and of course there was onions on her berger. Later we were served by a waitress who was much more friendly and we realize was probably just not there yet when we sat down, so the initial waiter didn't really care what we thought since we weren't going to be his customers at the end. So sadly what could have been a very pleasant lunch was spoiled by the initial waiter, even though the food was good we may not be back.

Every time I come here it gets more packed, which is both annoying and completely understandable because the food is ridiculously good. The tacos are fantastic, the fries are life-changing, and the hongos fries specifically deserve their own national holiday. This place made the Top 100 food spots in America list, and honestly? Deserved. It's the best taco spot in the country in my opinion and makes places like Torchy's feel like they're competing in junior varsity. The vibe is also way above average for a taco joint; lively, clean, and full of people who look like they just took their first bite and immediately started planning their next visit. The taco crew is always friendly too, even while dealing with lines longer than a DMV on a Monday. If you don't know what to order, here's the move: Get one taco or an especial if you're a cheese enthusiast, a medium fry with your topping of choice, and guac with chips. That's the kind of meal that makes you sit in your car afterward thinking about your life choices in a positive way. Enjoy. And maybe stretch beforehand because you're going to want to fight someone over the last hongos fry.

The space is beautifully adorned with an array of sophisticated bird sculptures a unique aesthetic touch that I found immensely impressive. A charming gentleman promptly escorted me to an excellent, highly comfortable table and elegantly explained the house specialties, a gesture that brought me complete satisfaction. To begin my mid-day refreshment, I requested an El Presidente cocktail, which proved to be remarkably crisp and refreshing.
