Hotel check in was easy and the many lovely amenities were very well explained. The staff member checking us in even asked what my pronouns were! I don't get that level of kindness most of the time from anyone in Los Angeles. The room is clean and comfortable. They were even so kind as to accommodate clean mini fridge for our food items. I called two weeks ago requesting a mini fridge and it was in the notes for our reservation. They realized this after we checked in and had a bellhop, a very kind gentleman named Fernando who had helped us with our bags earlier, personally carry the whole mini fridge up to our room and install it. The hotel has complimentary WiFi that's not password protected so I made sure to keep my VPN on because I'm neurotic like that. One thing I will report is that I couldn't find a wall port to plug in an ethernet cable in the room to set up my TP-Link Travel Router. Not a big deal at all because I'm probably the only person who would try to do something like that while on vacay anyway. Long story short, this place is probably the nicest hotel my wife and I have stayed at in our 13 years together. I slept like a baby on night one, and I look forward to the rest of our stay here. Thanks for the excellent experience!

It used to be our weekend get away, but waiting 3 hours in line in a car just to get over the border to San Diego is just not worth it. This all happened after 9/11and nothing has been done to deal with this. It is sad. This hotel however is great. We love it, have stayed before and if we can get over the darn border we will go again. We miss it. The hotel is large, in a good area and the rooms are nice. They have great room service and we love their eatery. There are nice places to walk nearby or you can grab a cab. The staff is super nice and does speak English. Our room was ready on time and it was clean and comfortable. They have everything you need there and they are very nice.

From the moment we arrived, the valet and concierge were welcoming and helpful with our car, bags, and local information. Check-in was quick and easy. The concierge also gave us great advice on the easiest way to get back to the border once we checked out, including directions so we wouldn't get lost. Its a little challenging with all the round-abouts !! Being from US and not speaking Spanish at all, we were a little unsure what to expect, but communication was never an issue. The staff made us feel comfortable and safe throughout our stay. The hotel has everything you need--multiple restaurants and bars, a casino, beautiful swimming pool, room service. A special shout-out to Daniel at the casino bar! We had no idea how to get a player's card or add money so we could play, and he walked us through everything. He was always friendly and quickly learned our drinks, remembering them throughout our stay. Such a nice personal touch! The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of toiletries and amenities. We also had dinner at Emma, the French restaurant inside the hotel, and it was beyond fabulous--gourmet food, great ambiance, and excellent service. We felt welcome, comfortable, and safe the entire time and will absolutely stay at the Grand Hotel Tijuana again on our next trip!

Their prices are good and you won't feel ripped off. You will be happy. The rooms are a nice size and kept up. The maid service is great. The staff is super and can guide you if this is your first time to Tijuana. I love the place to eat here. It is just the best. They have traditional Mexican food which is outstanding and they also have great American food. We love their pancakes and eggs. Their tacos are great as is any fish dish. They have bottled water in the room, which is a must. Do not drink tap water anywhere in Tijuana. The location is great. It is within easy walking to many fun spots, including shopping. The rooms are super clean and although it can get loud outside, the inside is quiet and comfortable. It even smells great. You will love it. Have fun.

Prices have doubled since coming here first. Points went from 5k to 8k- please don't up it any more :). Guest profile has changed and with it more English speaking staff. US workers in scrubs moonlighting on the weekend, patients over from US for medical procedures, catering to this new clientele has made this hotel busier and a little more pricey than before. I wonder how they will compete when the Westin opens right next door? Location is truly perfect, it's an easy drive from the U.S. made easier now with the hotel and gastronomy zone signs as you cross the San Ysidro border. The hotel offers covered, gated underground parking for your car. It feels secure and I've never had any issues or incidents (touch wood) ever. Breakfast is included with your stay and has improved over the years, not that it was ever bad, they just offer a much larger and quality selection than before and restock often, again being more busy I imagine helps with that. Staff are always great , very helpful, and bilingual. If the bar ever looks unattended it's because they often double at reception. Just look to the front desk for assistance. For a Hyatt place - it's one of the best - that's why we keep coming back, better than the San Diego counterparts. Adrian, at the breakfast station is our favorite staff member. He's always so helpful, attentive and he deserves a shout out. I would love if they made Pozole on Saturday mornings - but alas it's a Sunday morning treat. Having it on Saturday too would be the icing on the cake. Something to work on: I enjoy a late checkout and appreciate not being disturbed. Do not disturb sign on the door doesn't mean they won't knock, or try to come in. Housekeeping should observe this request, even if they are being nice and checking to see if you need more towels. If you like clean, they are obsessively clean - occasionally the chemicals bother me in the lobby but I appreciate their attention to cleanliness. Overall solid 4 star rating.

The staff at the Lobby was very kind and accommodating, the service alone has convinced me to return again for future visits. We had dinner to the right of the lobby and ordered the ribeye tacos, & chicken breast with a side salad. We had vouchers for discounted drinks gifted by the hotel and overall I highly recommend it. I'm surprised the ratings are low. If anyone is unhappy with the dinner I highly suggest, ask the staff "What would you order?" My server for dinner was Manuel and all his recommendations are a solid 5/5. It's in the same area near the lobby, not a buffet, sit down with a menu. Breakfast is free with the stay. I also noticed this restaurant makes it a point to serve beverages that are good for your health. Prior to breakfast they served us a warm glass of lemon water before we started our meal. There's also a selection of fresh juices, I selected the green juice; with cactus, pineapple, spinach, lemon water, and yes it had all of that in it. There's other juices available but that seems to be the most health conscious one out of the three. I ordered the Veracruz breakfast and it was absolutely delectable. In the evening I hung out on the 4th floor where they have a nice roof top pool, jacuzzi, bar, garden, etc. They also offer Yoga early morning and provide the mats and blocks needed. I wanted to try it out but it seemed my coworker wasn't interested in any of the activities offered. I wanted to make sure my coworker had a nice impression of our medical visit. I did however order two beds and was charged for a two bed unit online and I have a feeling they thought I was married to my coworker. I did not complain and used the couch instead. I was tired and just wanted to relax. My only reasoning for a 4 out of 5. I highly suggest if you come with someone you're sharing space with to definitely add that in your notes when booking. I was only there for one night and did not want to make a big deal out of it. Additional information: they do offer secure parking and a pass to easily navigate in and out of the premises.

My friend and I decided to make the time for a stay here. Easy enough we made reservations through Expedia for the hotel stay. We arrived and found a parking lot marked for the hotel. It was gates with a security guard 24/7. I was impressed with the parking situation, it was clean & well lit. Only negative about the parking there is no hallway or connection directly to the hotel. We had to walk around the block. Once we got the front of the hotel we were greeted by a pleasant security guard. The lobby was cool from working air conditioning. It was decorated in what I imagine is what it looked like when it was first operating. As we checked in, I could not stop admiring the look of the hotel all together. We got our keys & proceeded to gather our belongings to go to our room. This where we lost our enthusiasm for this adventure. NO ELEVATOR, weird stair/walkways & non existent A/C in the upper hallways. The room numbers were numbered odd as well. Once we got to the room the AC took a long time to cool the room. The room itself was very clean, decent TV & clean bathroom. The front desk lady was okay - just okay. She checked us in & was no help after. Any requests for toiletries seemed ridiculous to her. That's all I'm gonna say.
