Went on a Friday evening. Had to wait for a car to pull out of a parking space. Parking is pretty tight. We were seated right away. Excellent service. Very flavorful food. I had the steak fajita bowl. The steak was so very tender. I highly recommend. The portion size is quite large. When will my husband and I realize that we need to share?! Could have shared and still had leftovers. The blue margaritas were a special this evening. It comes in a large swimming pool size goblet. All you need is one. We will definitely be going back. We got take out tonight and loved everything we ordered. I ordered the combination dinner with a Chili Relleno and beef burrito. One of the best Relleno's I have had. My husband got the Chicken Primavera and said it was awesome. I waited at the bar for my food and had a House Margarita. It was delicious! It was a super busy night and every staff member was working so hard to get drinks and food to tables. Every staff member who helped me was cordial and hardworking. Finally found a Mexican spot that's got heat (still sad Rivera's closed)! I got the California burrito and had them cover it in their spicy salsa that they use on the Camarones a la Diablo. The red salsa packs a good punch. If you like spicy, I would recommend getting a side of the Diablo salsa at the beginning of the meal as the house chips/salsa is plain-jane but still has good flavor. Secondly, this is hands down the biggest burrito I have ever been served... well worth the $16. Leaving 4 stars because the margs are pretty average. The service is top notch though. Was very excited about El Muchacho when I saw the menu online. The service is great, very nice people and fast (this is the ONLY reason for the third star). Lots of variety on the menu so excited to try something. First was the chips and salsa. The chips were great and very fresh... the salsa was flavorless. It tasted more like a bland tomato sauce. The guacamole was similarly bland... sensing a trend? Everything I tried was bland, to the point that I was putting salt on everything and I very rarely salt food and that only made the food edible. Our table of four ordered the cheese dip appetizer, drinks and our main meals. All was very very good. My husband and I split the fajitas jalisco. The portions are big so it was enough for two. Loved it! My only suggestion is that they give more tortillas with that entree. There's so much fajita meat that you need maybe 2 more tortillas to finish all the meat! So so good! Also it wasn't greasy or fatty but I could tell the quality of the ingredients was good, as well! The prices are reasonable and the service was friendly and prompt. You know a Mexican restaurant has some "chops" when you see servers and patrons who have that heritage working and eating there! Stopped in to try a new Mexican restaurant in Gretna. I think that the Sarpy County community will embrace this restaurant for some time to come. Extensive menu with traditional Mexican recipes coupled with seafood and vegan options. My wife tried a combo of a chile rellono, tamale, rice and beans. Rice and beans a home run. Relleno cooked through with crema cheese. A bit runny, but delicious. The tamale was good, but needed a bit more meat. Overall good dish. I had the carne asada tacos with rice and beans. Loved the rice that also had tidbits of corn and peas. Authentic. Great flavor. The house salsa was very mild. Asked for the hot stuff. I was not disappointed. House margarita on the rocks was ample. The food, service, and margaritas was superb; i showed up at around 9:20 on a Monday night, and they were closing things down....I was going to leave, but they insisted that I stay and enjoy a meal...everything was five star; they took great care of me, and the food was delicious...the only thing was that they were cleaning up before closing, so u get that chemical smell while ur trying to eat, which sucks, but I won't hold that against them...awesome food, super friendly staff; I can't wait to go back! read more

The molcajete alegre was one of the single greatest Mexican entrees I've had in the Omaha area. Little pricey, but it feeds two easily. Their table salsa is really good too. The Diablo shrimp was actually spicy, which was much appreciated. Service was slow, but extremely friendly. It was a busy Friday night, so that's to be expected. Not the cheapest night out, but it's 2023. Overall, this place is great. read more

This place not only does not make their own tortillas, they use tortillas out of a bag that felt stale. They slap meat on the tortilla and call it a taco. Absolutely laughable. I want so badly to like this place. It's conveniently located and has a nice outdoor area. You can usually get seated quickly and the staff is friendly. I have been a handful of times and each time I go I am reminded of why I don't frequent this place. The drink prices have gone up since the last time I was there. I thought they were pricey for a Mexican restaurant ($10 - $15). The last time I went I had ordered the taco salad but it had some strange cheese sauce that turned the salad into more of a soup. So this time I ordered the salad without the cheese sauce and asked for just the shredded cheese instead. I also asked for no sour cream. When I got the salad it had no cheese sauce like I asked but no shredded cheese either and a big dollop of sour cream on top. I didn't say anything, I just pulled the top of the salad off. The salad was bland and barely edible. And it was served on a piping hot plate which I discovered when I touched the plate to pull it to my side of the table. I quickly pulled my hand back. The waiter saw me do this and then said, "Watch out. The plate is hot." Ya, no duh. I'm not sure why a salad would be served on a scalding hot plate - but whatever. My friend ordered the beef burrito and the chicken enchilada meal. She said that she actually was served two enchiladas. (They looked identical and were both prepared with enchilada sauce.) We called the waiter over and he assured her that one was an enchilada and the other was a burrito. Then he disappeared and we waited for 30 minutes for him to return to our table with our bill. She said her meal was also very bland. It's too bad. I like to support local places but the food here is just sub par and I have yet to have a good experience. read more
