I'm not sure if I don't know the right stuff to get or I'm just not the target customer, but I thought the pan dulche was a bit dry. It's an awesome experience being there and looking at everything, but the actual part of eating the bread was whatevers.

Love, love, love the smell of fresh Mexican panaderías. This place is a staple in Tecate and now I understand why. They have so many types of pan dulce, I was a bit overwhelmed having to narrow my choices....there are Racks and aisles full of them! You will definitely get more than one bread. If you're heading to la ruta del vino, this is a great pit stop. They also have a large parking lot in the back.

Was super excited to check that place out. A lot of choices but expensive and the flavor is lacking. Price of their cookies was similar to what I can get in Mexican store in San Diego.

The best bread in Tecate! (so the sign says). This place has pretty good sweet Mexican bread if you're ever in the area and want to take back some snacks for the ride home! All the bread appears fresh and if you choose right you can get sweet crunchy bread from the Mexico. Brought some back on my rides from Mexico and we all enjoyed it during the week.

Yeah, more cookies & muffins

If you like pan dulce or fresh baked bread or cakes or pies or cookies, this is the place you want to stop at. Hundreds of scrumptious options. Everything we've tried has been absolutely delicious. Fresh & high quality. Quite economical. We typically buy a decent large sized bag of yummy treats & spend less than $20 US. There is always a line, but it moves quickly thanks to the barrage of registers to help customers check out. The racks of pan dulce are literally taller than I am. (I'm 5' 5"!) As you enter the shop, grab a tray (or two), tongs & wander the aisles selecting delectable delights from the stacks & stacks of goodies available daily. Breads offered include uncut loaves, tortillas, buns, rolls, bolillo, torta, French & Greek bread & much, much more. Ample parking in the lot out back. Easy to find location just across the border.

So glad I got to be there for their final day on Monday, August 31, 2026. I haven't known the…read moreowners for very long, but after all the times I had the chance to enjoy their amazing pastries, sandwiches, and sourdough bread, I was more than impressed, and definitely well fed! Also complained when I drove 45 minutes uphill both ways to have nothing left to buy. LOL We also shared plenty of good laughs, especially when I told them I was allergic to water, salt, and oxygen. Somehow, they still managed to find something I could eat. I was lucky enough to buy their very last loaf of sourdough bread, and yes... it is now safely tucked away in my freezer. I'm trying to savor it one slice at a time and make it last as long as possible! It's sad to see such a special place close. I truly hope whomever takes over the business is able to carry on the wonderful tradition, quality, and warmth that made this place so memorable. Wishing the owners nothing but the best in whatever comes next. Thank you for the great food, the laughs, and the awesome memories.

We have been here 2 times, and will never be back…read more Beware of the Owner who will likely also be your server. Here is why: On our first visit, the prices for drinks were high to begin with, but when we asked for an iced latte upgraded to half and half (Breve), we were told it would be extra. Shame on us for not asking how much. A 24 ounce latte with regular milk was $6.95. The upgrade to Breve was an extra $4.00!!! For a grand total of $11.80 with a flavor shot!!! And the drink was of very average quality. More recently we got a scone that was EXTREMELY DRY. When it was brought back, the owner first said "You realize this is a scone, right? As a 30 year baker, that was insulting. Then she squeezed it and said she wanted us to try "the middle". Again, insulting. When I politely declined and said I'd like to get something else, she was very hesitant, and said she was afraid we would be unhappy with another selection, and preferred to give a refund. Insulting a third time. We think the owner might consider a more customer-centric approach, but that's just us.

RAISED BY WOLVES @ UTC LA JOLLA…read more Raised by Wolves is located inside UTC La Jolla, tucked away in the very back of the mall near the Din Tai Fung area. I would definitely recommend parking around Corner Bakery or near 24 Hour Fitness for the closest way in. This was my very first time going to Raised by Wolves. I made a reservation on OpenTable, and if you are reading this right now, I highly recommend booking one. When we got there, the wait was two hours for people without a reservation. I booked for 9 PM on a Saturday night with my friends after dinner. We actually arrived at UTC earlier than expected, so we let the host know and they let us in about 20 minutes early. As for parking, they do not validate here. Parking is free for the first hour and then two dollars per hour after that, so just be aware that you may end up paying for parking when you visit this bar. It is set up like a speakeasy, which is really cool. You get to see where the actual bar is hidden. We ended up ordering a bunch of cocktails and the drinks were super great. I really loved the vibe overall. It was lively and chatty, and the staff was super friendly. The ambiance is very dark and classy. Keep in mind they do not serve food here. It is purely drinks only. Overall, I would definitely recommend stopping by.

Finally came to visit this bar, after reading other reviews both good and bad, I figured wth. We…read morewaited about 10 minutes for reservation, sat on the revolving fireplace and sat at the bar. You can essentially sit wherever, but the bar is the best seat in the house IMO. The scenery was cool and had the prohibition era feel to it, however the music was current and WAY TOO loud. There is nothing more annoying to have to shout to the person sitting over the next barstool for a conversation. So there's that. We ordered the Island Old Fashioned, which sounded interesting, but...alittle disappointed. I wanted to order another cocktail, but we had dinner reservations. The bartender(s) barely spoke and if they did, we wouldn't have been able to hear them, you know, because of the loud music. Maybe we'll come again for other cocktails when we visit San Diego again. Until then, RBW is a "check off the list" kind of thing.
