Ate there with a group of 8 people, everyone was very happy with the food. To start off, the…read moreseafood boil is excellent. In a landlocked state, it's great to have such a tasty and unusual (Cajun) seafood boil. My wife and I split the combo called The Drift, which came with headless shrimp, scallops, mussels, and crab legs. Everything was excellent quality, and only one mussel wasn't open. It was 3 lbs and included a piece of corn, a few potatoes, and a superb sausage (I'd eat that alone; it was outstanding). It cost $68.95, which is a great deal considering it fed two people AND we have plenty of leftovers. You pick a sauce to come with the fish. I've had the Lemon Pepper at the Albuquerque location, but I saw they offer garlic butter online (not on the menu), so we asked and were told, sure, we can do that sauce. I can't decide which I like better, but I can say the garlic butter had plenty of garlic. One person ordered it with extra, so this restaurant is very accommodating. We ordered a side of rice to dump into the sauce; wow, that was very tasty. I think this would make great takeout too. Get some great French bread at the market across the street and use it to soak up the delicious sauce.
So the weird part (at least for us) is that you're served all this great seafood in a double plastic bag filled with sauce, and you just go for it, mostly with your hands. They offer an abundance of plastic besides the bag: a bib (you MUST use it; don't worry about how you look), gloves (optional; I tried them at first, but found it far easier to eat without them), and a huge plastic-lined bucket to fill with the shells. It really is a fun, messy, delicious food event. OK, I'm a West Coast native and only 32 years in NM, so I've never experienced a seafood boil, which is probably why I found it a bit odd. But so what; the food is great! And it's very unusual in Santa Fe. The restaurant isn't much to look at, but it was clean and functional, so just go for the great food. Service was excellent; our server was Maxine.
I didn't take pictures, a rarity for me, because, honestly, a photo of all this lovely seafood in a bag, swimming in sauce, isn't visually appealing, but the taste makes up for it.
