Been here before plenty of times, always good food. It's definitely gotten pricey over the visits, went yesterday because I was craving a Mexican ham sandwich. Ordered torta del chavo, don't recommended it at all, it might as well not even be on the menu. Two slices of avocado and an inch thick layer of lettuce on through the whole sandwich. Barely any mayo and ham, the turkey is just Oscar Meyer rounds from the store. I could've just made this at home read more

I have to give 5 stars because everything is really fresh here! The people here are really nice too. After eating some really unhealthy greasy ass jets pizza I had to get some green juice to counter act that lol. I got their "special green juice" really good! 7.00 and some change. I can make this at home with my vitamix for a lot cheaper but sometimes you just don't feel like doing it so you have to pay a premium. The special green juice is really good and really fresh! I've also had their trules. Which is like a snow cone or shaved ice. Really good! They also have nachos with jalapeños. Great fruit Bowls with the Mexican chili. Lots of good fresh fruit to be had here. Do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not be disappointed. Also some days they can get really packed so be prepared to wait a few minutes. read more

I asked the lady, who was nice by the way, that took my order which fruit salad had cottage cheese she said #14. It has everything she mentioned except the cottage cheese what I really wanted with my fruit. Been here a couple of times, the service has always been good. Tried calling the phone number online but it seems like they answer & hang up. After a couple of calls it sounds disconnected. It's always busy, especially on the weekends. I've never tried the actual food, but I always get a different flavor of troles so I can try a little bit each time. They also let you sample some flavors, and all the employees are very nice. They speak mostly Spanish, but they'll understand what you want :). It takes a little while for your order to come out if it's not busy. We waited 30 minutes for our orders on a busy day. But since it's so cheap, it's totally worth the wait! Walked in an hour before closing and the 3 girls working spoke in Spanish chatting amongst themselves for several minutes without a single hello to me and my daughters. I finally said hello and she asked if I was ready. Yes we are. Is that going to be okay to pull you away from your conversation for a moment? I've cream was gritty and even chocolate had a weird taste to it. It was a bummer since we had a place just like this we would go to all the time before we moved to Texas. I went here recently with my family and we had a great experience! The customer service here was amazing and everyone was friendly. We got nachos, a fruit bowl with lime and chili, and a coconut/pineapple shaved ice cup! For the shaved ice I would recommend going with a small cup because it really is a lot. Everything tasted great and when the employee accidentally made me a mango/pineapple shaved ice cup she apologized and remade it for me. I would definitely recommend you check this place out! Update: I just saw a review that reminded me of how the employee at the cash register yelled at a group of us to get in a line. She said "Everybody get in a line! Don't crowd around the door!!" I wasn't too upset because it was a huge group of us but if it was just my family and I, I would've been really upset and not eaten there. I don't know why she gets so upset about the lines. I've had the fruit cups many of times here and the fruit isn't fresh. the last time I finally decided I wasn't coming back. It's better to just go to the nearby Heb and buy your own fruit. It's going to be taste so much bettsR than anything you'd get at el kiosko. Maybe their food is better but I am not going to come back to try it. read more

If you're looking for a fruit cup (really served in a bowl) come here. This place is like your typical raspa stand, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they sold tortas and other types of entrees as well. They have a big selection and you can also build your own fruit cup. I would have given them five stars but the grapes in my fruit cup weren't that fresh (and grapes stay firm for a while) and they were a literal pricy with the fruit. I did love the Chile powder as well!! I will definitely come back, I missed going to a place like this. read more

Brought my BFF here to try out some of my culture's delights. We usually go out for dessert to her neck of the woods (Bellaire- Asian desserts) but she is prego, with limitations on her driving, and was craving something unexplained but sweet so we came here! She absolutely loved it as much as I do! Their mangonada was out of this world (better than the one on Veterans) and the locations is perfect! Ok, now that I've found the right flavor to get, I have fallen in love with this place. Mangonada is all that you need to know about this place! Such an awesome flavor! A combo of mango, lime, and chamoy for that extra spicy kick. Where have you been all my life? I'm ashamed of the 3-stars I gave them last year. Best Mangonada ever! I was recently introduced to Mangonada and have been on the search for the best one. I usually have to drive out of my way to get one so I am glad this place is near to my house. My only complaint was there was a bit of confusion with who was next in line and I got skipped a couple of times..but once I tasted the Mango explosion my annoyance had dissipated. Fresh mango sorbet, chamoy, big chunks of mango, addicting sweet and sour chili spaghetti candy right on top and a chili tamarind candy straw to drink out of! They don't speak English very well but they understood what I was wanting so don't let that deter you from coming here. Think I found my go to place from now on!!! read more

Really great fruit ice flavors. If you're not familiar, it's more like sorbet than shaved ice. The manganado is really interesting - a mixture of sweet, salty and savory. I had a mango and tamarind mixture and it was so good! My daughters had coconut-vanilla, and coconut-watermelon. The watermelon tasted like a real slice of watermelon, not a fake watermelon taste that some flavorings have. The service was great and super-friendly. We'll definitely be back! read more

We stopped by unplanned after a swim meet. We were very pleasantly surprised. The fruit salad with yogurt sauce was delicious and HUGE. My granddaughter got nachos, again the portion was huge. Service is extremely slow here even when there 6 workers behind the counter. Workers behind the counters rather upbeat talking to each other than talking to customers. They were not helpful in ordering. Numerous clients in line waiting to order and some waiting for their orders. Waiting in line while writing this. I was on my way home from a friends house and this happened to be in the area so I stopped by! I ordered the "Explosion" it was kind of expensive but after eating it I see why. It is PACKED! There is ice cream, and fruit in there! I loved it so much I will definitely be back! It wasn't spicy at all so do not worry! I visited here during happy hour one day. I'd previously visited one of their other locations…read moreseveral years ago since I heard they had really great cheese enchiladas. On this visit I just wanted a drink and a small bite though. Upon walking in, the restaurant was nearly full and bustling. I spotted some seats over at the bar area in the back right so I sat there. There are happy hour specials ending at 6pm weekdays but the bartender told me about the daily specials and how the Natalitas margarita was stronger than the happy hour one for about the same price, so I chose that one. I ordered the large for $10.25 which comes in an 18 oz large glass. After looking at the menu, I settled on one of my typical orders at happy hour, the small (8 in) beef fajita quesadilla. This comes out after about 10 mins and it has the typical sour cream and guacamole on the sides. There is plenty there to be placed on all 8 of the quesadillas. This is a pretty standard tasting quesadilla, nothing really stood out about it. Same goes for the margarita. Keep in mind this is a discounted drink and made with pre-mixed sweet and sour from a large plastic bucket at the back of the bar area using a house tequila and a house orange liquor. I couldn't read the labels on either bottle since they turned them backward during my entire visit. Not sure if they do this on purpose or not. Either way, there are better quality margarita options obviously, using fresh juice they store in their refrigerator and a margarita that is actually shaken. The tortillas that came with our meal were hard and stale. My Tampiqueña was not a Tampiqueña at all--it was an old, tough piece of steak full of gristle and connective tissue. The quality was frankly unacceptable, especially considering the prices charged. What was even more disappointing was the response from management. When I called to explain the issue, I expected at least an apology or some willingness to listen. Instead, the manager immediately insisted that I was wrong and repeatedly told me that I needed to drive back to the restaurant and show them the food. There was no apology, no concern for the customer experience, and no attempt to make things right. The underlying message seemed to be that they simply did not believe me. What kind of establishment treats long-time customers this way? After years of supporting this restaurant, I found it shocking that a legitimate complaint was met with denial rather than professionalism. Good restaurants make mistakes from time to time. Great restaurants own those mistakes and take care of their customers. Unfortunately, Cafe Di Fiore chose neither. Unless there is a significant improvement in both food quality and customer service, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Customer service was excellent the entire time and they will even come to your table and take your plate away as if they are full service, which they aren't . I also ordered a slice of coconut cream pie, or at least that's what they said it was. It had no cream in it and appeared to be a coconut custard pie not that different than the one I make at home.
