I have driven on Highway 12 passing through Sonoma, CA, tons of times. Each time I have noticed this particular pale green colored food truck parked at various places along Highway 12 and always seem to have a crowd. That's definitely a good sign. So Iast month, I finally stopped in my tracks to check them out. They were parked in front of the old skate and board shop across from the high school. There was plenty of street parking. The fella that took my order was funny and had a great attitude. I bought a couple of street tacos, one cabeza and the other carne asada. The Hubs also got two, but his was a carnitas and a carne asada. They were $3 each. The meat was piled up on the flour tortillas. The asada was good. It had yummy crisp edges and great flavor. The cabeza was firm while being melt in your mouth tender. But hold up, I tasted some of Hubs carnitas. Ohhh it was delicious. That was definitely my favorite. We ate the tacos right there on the spot at the picnic tables.

Came here during a recent trip wine country! My friends and I did an experience at an animal sanctuary and were rerouting to Sonoma for wine tasting, but decided to stop here for a quick bite beforehand. This is a cute little food truck, with a few picnic tables on the side where you can eat. I decided to order the al pastor taco salad and my fiance got the carnitas burrito, and we all had some chips and guac to split. The portion size for all the dishes (including the guac) was pretty big which was really nice! The salad was chockfull of different ingredients including tomatoes, lettuce, grilled zucchini, beans, rice and came on a really delicious flour tortilla so you could wrap it up if you want to as well. My fiance seemed to really enjoy his burrito as well! The chip and guacs were good and it was nice to have so much, but the guac could've been a little better seasoned. Great little pit stop for a quick bite!

Torta al Pasteur sandwich was fabulous. The bread was sour or French roll and I love it! I would drive here just for another one!

Completely overpriced. No longer serve menu items that have been on the menu for decades. Subpar service.

It's spacious and clean and festive, I like the outside vibes! The staff here is so friendly and on top of their game -- any staff member will have an answer to any question. And of course, maybe most important to most, the food is stellar. So good. I tend to judge Mexican restaurants by their chips, salsa, and refried beans... haha that's just me. And for me, La Hacienda excels in all three! Their chips are served fresh, warm, crisp, and salty. They bring out a red and green salsa that are both fantastic. And their simple refried beans are absolutely loaded with flavor and served piping hot. Check, check, check. My mom and I shared combo chicken and beef fajitas which were wonderful. Again, so much flavor. No need to add salt! My aunt enjoyed her enchiladas and my dad had a beautiful chile relleno. Everyone left full and happy.

The music and the decor make La Hacienda Sonoma full of life and good food.

Bar area was popular and look like they do some drink specials. A couple tvs with sports on but not intrusively loud. Lots of parking. The booths were beautifully decorated. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures but that's also a good thing. The food was good. Little guy got his usual carne asada tacos a la carte with nothing on them - he said the meat was well seasoned and tasty. Hubby got a Al pastor torta - it was Huge. He only ate half. Commented the meat was good and the bread was soft, grilled perfectly and overall very good sandwich. I got the chicken mole plate. I don't like eating chicken on the bone in a restaurant (me being dainty, lol) unless it's fried chicken wings - so this was a treat because their chicken mole was not on the bone. The mole was kinda sweet but I like it that way. I would have liked a bit more spice but I know mole is regional and familial flavors. I thought it was good. Beans and rice pass my test - moist and flavorful. The bathroom was clean - I always think if a restaurant has a clean bathroom I'll trust for a clean kitchen. Kinda odd the ladies room was a single toilet and two sinks. But I thought if I had a couple littles in there with me we could all wash our hands at the same time. I'll keep this spot on my list next time I'm in the area! The staff was great and we left very well fed!

We started with the local sourdough, herb butter and salt ($7) which was great. Patatas Bravas were just ok, but house salad was big with blue cheese, apples and candied walnuts. Enough for the 5 of us. Husband and mom had to roasted salmon ($34) with tabbouleh, snap peas and tzatziki sauce. They liked it but it wasn't the best ever. I had the shrimp and cheesy grits, which were tender, garlicky in tomato garlic cheesy goodness ($25). Brother had the roasted half chicken ($36) with fennel salad and olive salsa verde. It was super tender and delish. Sister in law had 8 oz bavette steak slice over crispy fingerling potatos. She raved about how good it was. We were too full for dessert but drink prices were reasonable (though they botched a martini). Fairly easy parking around 5pm on a Saturday night. The outside patio looked cute with picnic tables but it didn't work with my mom in a wheelchair and a few steps. The service was pleasant though a little slow. Easy reservations with OpenTable. Would definitely recommend in Sonoma!

This is the #1 mentioned spot recommended to me on my post/inquiry for great romantic restaurants in the area on Facebook page "Sonoma county foodies." I have my list from them and was excited to use one of the best excuses ever to go-my mother-in-law's 75th birthday and flying in to town to see us. We got a sitter and reserved a table weeks ahead. Entering in to the restaurant, it has a cool vibe as it's also a hotel. We got there before the dinner rush, so it was relaxed when we arrived. We were seated at a table; the staff knew ahead it was my MILs bday, and they kindly wished her happy birthday several times in our time. We ordered the mushrooms for appetizer; a generous portion, but not too big to ruin dinner. It was an unusual dish we hadn't had before; beautifully plated with arugula and a slightly spicy purée. I would order it again. I got a glass of Walt Chardonnay and my MIL a sparkling wine, which she and my husband really liked. For entrees, I got the Petaluma Chicken-which was crispy outside and tender on the inside. Polenta (very creamy) and broccolini. I would say my dish was light on salt, so I added some to taste, and all was good. My husband got the vegan plate with salmon, and it looked so healthy and fresh. The tofu was crispy too, even for my hubby that doesn't eat tofu. My mother in law got the flat iron steak and frites. The steak was cooked to her liking and looked delicious. The fries were ok--I thought they were a bit under-whelming (like them piping hot) but that can't always be achieved in a busy restaurant. Mid-meal the place started buzzing with activity, and it got a bit loud but not too bad. The staff was very kind and brought us a small fudge brownie (very rich and dense) and all 3 of us had 1-2 bites and satisfied our sweet tooth for end of meal. The waiter was fantastic! I would love to return and try some different dishes and some signature cocktails as they were so tempting.
