Another bestie food adventure... and absolutely worth skipping the gym. Sorry not sorry, Lance…read more We went all in and shared: chips and guacamole, crispy chicken tacos, fish tacos, and chicken enchiladas suizas. Pro tip -- order a bunch, share everything, and turn it into your own little food flight. Let's start with the chicken -- seasoned, juicy, and tender. No bland, boiled chicken situation here. The flavors really came through in both the crispy tacos and the enchiladas suizas. The taco shells had a great crunch, and the salsa verde was delicious (and yes, I'm a little biased -- verde over roja all day). The fish tacos were fried perfectly but could've used a bit more seasoning. Still good, just not the standout compared to the chicken dishes. Now, the tortillas -- definitely different from your typical masa tortillas. They were soft, fluffy, and on the thicker side. Not bad at all, just not a wow moment for me -- more of a "this is interesting" kind of bite. The chips, on the other hand, were also thick but worked perfectly for scooping up that fresh, flavorful guacamole. We came on a Friday just before the lunch rush, and I'm glad we did because parking is not it. There's a small lot (shared with the patio), but spaces are limited. We lucked out with nearby street parking, but be prepared to walk. Seating is all outdoor patio -- a mix of tables and chairs plus picnic-style seating under large umbrellas. It's a great setup for groups and gives off a casual, communal vibe. Bottom line: zero regrets. Great food, great company, and yes -- still worth skipping the gym for.

Still impressed and delighted by the food and service here at La Hacienda. If it's a pretty day,…read moresit outside on their patio. It's spacious and clean and festive, I like the outside vibes! The staff here is so friendly and on top of their game -- any staff member will have an answer to any question. And of course, maybe most important to most, the food is stellar. So good. I tend to judge Mexican restaurants by their chips, salsa, and refried beans... haha that's just me. And for me, La Hacienda excels in all three! Their chips are served fresh, warm, crisp, and salty. They bring out a red and green salsa that are both fantastic. And their simple refried beans are absolutely loaded with flavor and served piping hot. Check, check, check. My mom and I shared combo chicken and beef fajitas which were wonderful. Again, so much flavor. No need to add salt! My aunt enjoyed her enchiladas and my dad had a beautiful chile relleno. Everyone left full and happy.

Sonoma has several parts of town. This La Hacienda is located in Boyes Springs. When I asked my students where their families went out to eat they told me about La Hacienda. They said the food was good, and the portions were big. Well I'm here to tell you they were right. They have very good margaritas. My husband ordered top shelf and I had a sip. It was delicious. The music and the decor make La Hacienda Sonoma full of life and good food.

Ordered a cabeza taco and a chorizo breakfast burrito. It was quite delicious and I ended up getting more hot sauce. You can buy the hot sauce to go as well to use at home!

Such a cute place! Walking in the staff motioned for us to sit anywhere. There was patio seating…read morebut it was a bit chilly so we sat inside. Bar area was popular and look like they do some drink specials. A couple tvs with sports on but not intrusively loud. Lots of parking. The booths were beautifully decorated. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures but that's also a good thing. The food was good. Little guy got his usual carne asada tacos a la carte with nothing on them - he said the meat was well seasoned and tasty. Hubby got a Al pastor torta - it was Huge. He only ate half. Commented the meat was good and the bread was soft, grilled perfectly and overall very good sandwich. I got the chicken mole plate. I don't like eating chicken on the bone in a restaurant (me being dainty, lol) unless it's fried chicken wings - so this was a treat because their chicken mole was not on the bone. The mole was kinda sweet but I like it that way. I would have liked a bit more spice but I know mole is regional and familial flavors. I thought it was good. Beans and rice pass my test - moist and flavorful. The bathroom was clean - I always think if a restaurant has a clean bathroom I'll trust for a clean kitchen. Kinda odd the ladies room was a single toilet and two sinks. But I thought if I had a couple littles in there with me we could all wash our hands at the same time. I'll keep this spot on my list next time I'm in the area! The staff was great and we left very well fed!

This is the #1 mentioned spot recommended to me on my post/inquiry for great romantic restaurants in the area on Facebook page "Sonoma county foodies." I have my list from them and was excited to use one of the best excuses ever to go-my mother-in-law's 75th birthday and flying in to town to see us. We got a sitter and reserved a table weeks ahead. Entering in to the restaurant, it has a cool vibe as it's also a hotel. We got there before the dinner rush, so it was relaxed when we arrived. We were seated at a table; the staff knew ahead it was my MILs bday, and they kindly wished her happy birthday several times in our time. We ordered the mushrooms for appetizer; a generous portion, but not too big to ruin dinner. It was an unusual dish we hadn't had before; beautifully plated with arugula and a slightly spicy purée. I would order it again. I got a glass of Walt Chardonnay and my MIL a sparkling wine, which she and my husband really liked. For entrees, I got the Petaluma Chicken-which was crispy outside and tender on the inside. Polenta (very creamy) and broccolini. I would say my dish was light on salt, so I added some to taste, and all was good. My husband got the vegan plate with salmon, and it looked so healthy and fresh. The tofu was crispy too, even for my hubby that doesn't eat tofu. My mother in law got the flat iron steak and frites. The steak was cooked to her liking and looked delicious. The fries were ok--I thought they were a bit under-whelming (like them piping hot) but that can't always be achieved in a busy restaurant. Mid-meal the place started buzzing with activity, and it got a bit loud but not too bad. The staff was very kind and brought us a small fudge brownie (very rich and dense) and all 3 of us had 1-2 bites and satisfied our sweet tooth for end of meal. The waiter was fantastic! I would love to return and try some different dishes and some signature cocktails as they were so tempting.
