Nachos- Birria and I added rice
Kim B.

Ordered the birria nachos and asada super burrito. Both were excellent. Very nice gal taking my order. I was in/out within 10 minutes.

Zapata Grill has great-tasting quesabirria tacos! Delicious. Fun little spot with lots of seating. We went on a Friday night and the line formed quickly. Good food and good vibes!

good quality tasty tortillas

There are photos of the menu on this page. Check it out. Nothing fancy here, it's pretty much the standard taco, burrito menu typical of the southwest USA and northwest Mexico. But what they have here is delicious! The tortillas are noteworthy for the high quality texture, mouthfeel and flavor. For tacos and my burrito the tortillas are gently grilled on the plancha. No fried / crispy tacos available. Barbara S. loved her tacos of fish and shrimp. My chile relleno burrito was creamy, starchy, flavorful and belly filling good with refried beans, rice amd other goodies. I live here in Kenwood. This joint is a real asset to the village. I no longer have to drive the ten miles down to Boyes Hot Springs when I get a sudden hankering for some Mexican chow. Blackboard sign on the patio says that this place is now open 7 days per week. When winter returns the new inside dining rooms will be able to accommodate dozens of tables. No alcohol here. Bring you own bottle.

I had my second meal from Zapata Grill. First time was a sit down on site, where they have a nice covered patio with tables and chairs (dog friendly too) and new indoor tables and chairs just added. My first meal was tacos a la plancha with shrimp. They were delicious. Hubby Tom had a Chili Relleno Burrito, which he said was fabulous too. Second time was a take out order. I ordered the same tacos, hubby ordered the Pork Asada burrito, which he said was just OK this time around. Maybe they have a different person cooking on Sunday's (Yes they are now open Sundays until 3:00.) The service both times was very quick. The gal that takes your orders has been cheery and smiling both times as well. I like Zapata because it is right down the street from my house in Kenwood and I don't have to drive into Santa Rosa for tacos. I want to try other items on the menu, but basically it is different tacos and burritos on their current menu.

Carne asada and chorizo tacos

Overall not a bad place to grab some good decent tacos. I tried the chorizo and carne asada ones. Great presentation, tacos were well portioned, our order was prepared quick and the people working provided excellent customer service. Also they offer a backyard type set up for dining.

We had an early dinner after doing at tour at Russian River Rail bikes. There is plenty of parking,…read morewhich is convenient. We were warmly welcomed. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside in the shade and it was really nice. It has a relaxed atmosphere and we were given chips and salsa. I ordered the Ensalada El Milagro and it was delicious! All of the ingredients were so fresh and complimented each other well! The staff working here were so friendly, kind, and attentive. I also love that three locals own this together so when you dine here you know you are supporting a locally owned restaurant. I've eaten at the Healdsburg location several times. This was the first time I've been to the Cloverdale location and we love both locations. Such amazing and flavorful food! Highly recommend!

We were seated in the large (dog-friendly) outdoor area near the entrance. I stuck with water, but my friends really liked the cocktails, including the Mango Margarita and Paloma. For food, I ordered the Enchiladas Special, which had chicken and salsa verde. This was just okay - the shredded chicken was pretty dry and served on the outside of the enchiladas, which I hadn't seen before. I also tried a bite of my friend's Carne Asada Quesadilla, which I liked more - still pretty standard though. The best item was the Guacamole with Esquites we ordered for the table - so fresh and tasty, and the corn kicked it up a notch. Service was friendly and fast!

La Luna Market & Taqueria - Huge Al Pastor Burrito

Amazing food. After a long day of riding... I was starving…read more AI pushed me towards expensive restaurants in the area. I asked "what about the Mexican place?" I'm so glad I did! I really enjoyed the La Luna Lunch with a side small tortilla chips. Day was made. I'm seriously considering a nap on this picnic table...sigh.

Good food, friendly people--but $30 for a shrimp quesadilla? Come on…read more I've been wanting to write this review for a while, and after paying $30 for one shrimp quesadilla, I finally had to say something. I'm a Napa Valley chauffeur, so I'm constantly driving around the Valley and looking for convenient places to grab food while I'm working. La Luna Market is actually a convenient spot for that. They have drinks, snacks, beer, and a kitchen/taqueria that serves hot food. The employees are genuinely nice, welcoming, and friendly. The people working in the kitchen have that "Tía or Tío you never had" kind of warmth, and I want to give them credit for that. This review is NOT because the food is bad. It isn't. The food is alright. I actually like their quesadillas, and I love shrimp quesadillas. My kids love quesadillas too. But $30 for one shrimp quesadilla is absolutely wild. At that price, I could go to an actual sit-down Mexican restaurant in Napa and get a full meal. And it's not just the quesadilla. $5.49 for one taco. A super burrito over $20. When you start adding up food for a family, the prices get ridiculous fast. Imagine bringing three kids who want quesadillas and spending close to $100 on quesadillas alone. At that point, I'm looking at the receipt wondering if the shrimp came with a fucking mortgage payment. And before anyone says, "Well, everything is expensive now,"--I understand. Food costs, labor, inflation, overhead, all of it. I get it. But there's something that bothers me about a small neighborhood market/taqueria charging Napa Valley restaurant prices for basic Mexican food. The reason this especially rubs me the wrong way is that La Luna is in an area where there aren't a ton of convenient lunch options nearby. When you're working in the Valley, driving around, or passing through, you don't always have the luxury of driving another 15-20 minutes to find something reasonably priced. So when the convenient option knows people are going to stop there because there isn't much else around, it starts to feel like the prices are taking advantage of that situation. And yes, tourists probably aren't going to blink at a $20+ burrito or a $30 quesadilla. I drive tourists for a living--I see what people spend while they're here. Napa attracts people with money to burn. But not everybody eating in Napa Valley is on vacation. There are working-class people who live here. There are drivers, vineyard workers, hospitality workers, construction workers, restaurant employees, locals, families, and people just trying to grab lunch without dropping $30 on a quesadilla. That's where I think La Luna needs to take a step back. Your food doesn't suck. Your employees don't suck. Your prices are the problem. And judging by other reviews mentioning the same thing, I'm clearly not the only person who feels this way. I'm giving three stars because I don't want to pretend the entire experience is terrible. The employees are great, the food is decent, and the market itself is convenient. But the taqueria pricing is way too aggressive, especially for what you're getting. La Luna, we love you, but chillllll. Bring those prices down a little and you'll have a place that working people can actually feel good about stopping at instead of looking at their receipt afterward like, "¿Qué chingados acaba de pasar?" Por favor. Much love to the employees, though. You guys are always welcoming and friendly. Pero este precio no es justo. Está carísimo.
