Costa's Tacos has the best tacos in Northern California. The green salsa is the best around and the tacos seriously are the best I have had in Northern California since I moved here 9 years ago. I wish they had a store front, I chase down this food truck down so much I might as well rent space in the back of it!! I am not a one star yelp review person but I had to share my/dozens of people's experience today- Fourth of july taco truck in the square. Dear lord... me and the rest of the customers all around me had a horrible experience. Our beepers would falsely go off, we go up to collect food, they tell us false alarm and keep waiting. No sorry, no apologies, no update when the food was gonna be there.. No explanation, nothing. The cashier at one point started laughing when another woman asked how much longer. There were dozens of people waiting so so long. I WAITED AT AN HOUR FOR 2 TACOS AND A QUESADILLA. I should have just asked for my money back. Customer service did not exist here today, such a bummer. I get it's a taco truck not a restaurant, but At least tell the customers if you were having some kind of issue. No one said anything to us except for the "turn your buzzer off it's not ready". Or offer something to compensate. Nothing. And an HOUR for tacos and a fricken quesadilla is diabolical. Do better. read more

Enjoyed both regular tacos and quesabirria tacos from their truck at a volleyball tournament in Sonoma. High-quality, fresh ingredients, and tasty. The tortillas were a bit greasy, but the al pastor, carne asada, and birria meat were well-seasoned and tender. Dipping broth for the quesabirria tacos was excellent. Salsas were pretty good too but wish they provided larger quantity without having to ask for more. Truck prices were on the higher side than other brick and mortar places, but still decent value, and it hit the spot. read more

Ok on my next venture to this taco truck, they were at Starlings Bar parking lot. They have a Wednesday taco deal worked out with the bar where you can buy "street tacos" for $3 each. It's a good thing that they are only three dollars because they are about three bites of food each. I got three tacos and they were gone in about seven minutes. The Burria tacos are regular size but over $6 each! As I was still hungry after this appetizer I went back to the truck to get more, but it looked like they were talking on the phone and the windows were all closed. I asked the guy through the side door if they were open and he said yes, but they pretty much seemed to be shut down. Anyway, the tacos were delicious flavors, but they were just as tiny as can be. Little babies! If they had regular size tacos, it would be a different story, but these are minuscule and nothing more than bite-size snacks. I don't understand why anyone would serve tacos that are this small. If you're hungry this just does not do the trick. It was basically a snack and I never got more. So even at $3 each, no bargain there. My conclusion is that if you like this taco truck you're gonna spend $20 to get a serving of whatever that fills you up. I would avoid the tiny tacos if you were not wanting just a snack and I would avoid the birria tacos because they're over-priced and a bit too cheese greasy. Next stop would be a burrito or something for like 15 or $16. Maybe that's where the value is here, but where I grew up tacos were cheap yet satisfying. This is a pop up in front of Sonoma Springs Brewery. The Gordita is amazing here! This wasn't like some at other trucks in the area, which can be too mealy or soft. The texture and crunch of the Gordita was perfect. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The sweet spicy salsa with the al pastor was harmonious. Then the potato, onion, and roasted jalapeño was the best accompaniment. I will go back. read more

Beyond shocked that this place has no reviews. These are hands down my favorite tacos from any taco stand or taco truck ever before! My favorites are the al pastor tacos with sweet and spicy salsa (which is still pretty spicy!) and the quesabirria. The tacos all come with a side of grilled potatoes, onions, and jalapeños on the side. To clarify for others this is a pop-up taco stand. The address listed here is for Sonoma Springs Brewery where they are usually located on Saturday afternoons and evenings. On Friday mornings they are located at Sonoma Farmers Market. Beyond that, I would suggest checking their social media where they post the current week's schedule and locations around Sonoma (Sonoma Eats, Starling Bar, etc). holy cow. BEST burrito I've had in my life. It was delivered super hot, and every part of it was amazing. The carne asada was beyond delicious, it was tender and had so much flavor. My mom ordered tacos, and while (through Uber eats) we paid $12 for 3 tacos she said they were amazing. The two recommendations I have are to change your uber eats menu with the tacos, the site says 'tacos' but there is only one taco per order, so we only received three when we were expecting six or so. The other recommendation is wrapping the burritos a little tighter, mine fell apart if I didn't hold it from the sides and bottom. Regardless, this is a place I would order from again and again. Relatively reasonable pricing and absolutely incredible food. read more

We will honestly drive from Santa Rosa to Sonoma on a week day just to eat at Costas. They're by far the best Mexican food in the county in my opinion. Super delicious! Enjoyed the beef tacos with consume and they were absolutely mouthwatering. I love the baby potatoes and whole grilled onion they included on the side. Meat was tender, sauces had the right kick, cheese was perfectly melty and the consume was so flavorful! The staff was professional and friendly and efficient. There were folding chairs so my child and I could wait comfortably for our to-go order. I just loved it and look forward to trying the torta that a friend recommended.
