Forget Mission, this is place is a hidden gem and family owned. Food is very good and the staff is very friendly. Never a bad trip to El Comalito. My wife and love mission as well but I just can't stand waiting for 1.5 hrs to eat there when u can go across the street for half the price. Today was my first time ordering from El Comalito and I am beyond impressed. I wasn't sure what my family would like so I got a bunch of stuff, a Philly cheesesteak burrito, nachos, fajitas, tacos, fried pork and plantains, empanada and churros. Everything was kinda pricey so I hoped for the best but didn't have any expectations. But wow, every single thing I ordered was cooked to perfection, flavorful, tender and absolutely delicious. I got extra food in case something was terrible but man was that not necessary. My kids loved their dishes and my husband did too. I love this place!! The food is amazing, the prices are great, and the owners are exceptionally nice and trusting!!! Please support this restaurant, because I want them to be in business for a long time. They are extremely accommodating and their burritos are delicious--my chicken burrito was cooked and spiced to perfection and the sweet plantains are delicious. My boyfriend always gets the rice, beans and cheese burrito option which he loves and is $5.50. We went in and at first was very happy with all the beautiful changes. But.... Our waiter took forever. He gave my 7 year old an alcoholic drink. He told me the Verde sauce is what the chips and salsa came with. He told me it would be $3 more if I changed it. :( I notice on the way out too....someone else order the same thing, and the got Pico degio sauce. I was not happy. This place is awesome! The absolute most delicious food anywhere. Papusa are so delicious I often tell friends "they are like grilled cheese on crack!" Meaning they are very addictive. My son loves the tres leches cake and the chicken enchiladas. I've never gone wrong here & I eat here often. El Comalito has become another "Go To" place for excellent Mexican food. I'm a fan of La Veracruzana(best salsa bar in the valley..Diablo is *****) and Bueno y Sano, and can now add this great place to the list. I can't eat at our Chipotle anymore...rice has been way undercooked and food NEVER seems to be hot...just warm... Comalito is the real deal...the food is tasty, their Chipotle salsa is very good, the people are nice, and they're always fast. I recommend grabbing a great tasting burrito and wandering into the Moan and Dove, to wash it down with some lovely suds! read more

I got delivery and it was pretty good! My boyfriend got the burrito and said he liked it a lot and it was so big he could eat more later that night when he was hungry. I got the pupusas. I went to this place as a pit stop when traveling with my boyfriend. I had the chicken burrito with guac and he had the chicken tacos. The food was very flavorful and filling. It is reasonably priced for the amount you get and puts the chain restaurants to shame. If you are ever in the area this would be a great place to get some grub! read more

Came in to this relatively empty restaurant to order a veggie burrito to go and came home to realize they gave me, a vegetarian, chicken enchiladas. My friend had a couple bites to see if it was vegetarian and when she realized it was chicken I called to bring it back and exchange the order. They told me to come back and when I brought back the food I asked if I could keep the wrong order for my friend since they would have to throw it out anyway and it was a waste of food. They proceeded to say "no, are you kidding? This is your fault" when they gave me the wrong order. When they brought out the burrito it was about 4 inches long and at that point I just asked for my money back due to the service and the size of the burrito for $9. They took 10 minutes, while talking among themselves while rolling their eyes, to get me my money back. My friend called to complain about my experience when I got back home and it turns out the man who told me it was my fault and gave me the wrong order and talked about me rudely in front of me was the manager. Horrible service, horrible management, horrible business, overpriced small portions of food. Don't give them your business. Try Mission Cantina across the street instead! Sorry to say we have had several not so great experiences here lately: messed up orders (wrong items, items left off order) as well as food quality and taste issues. Last time we had burritos there were maybe 3 small pieces of meat in the whole thing. Very disappointing as this had become our go-to place for Mexican food.
