I was staying at the hotel next door and decided to give it a try. I was greeted. With chips and salsa when I sat down. The staff was great and when my order arrived I couldn't believe how large the portion was. I then noticed everyone leaving had a box to take home. The chicken ranchero was delicious. Lots of fresh veggies to go with the chicken and the amazing sauce. Add healthy portions of rice and beans along with tortillas to sop up the sauce and you have too much to finish in one sitting. We stopped here on our trip out west because we saw that it had outdoor seating (and we had a dog). While the outdoor seating was limited (and taken), we saw Cabela's outdoor picnic area behind the restaurant. The restaurant was packed which would be a good sign if there wasn't a pandemic going on. We got our food to go and walked about 100 yards to the Cabela's picnic area. We ordered the fish tacos (delicious) and the carnitas Jalisco (I wish I took a picture). Super yummy food and LARGE portions! We came in during supper time and it was busy, semi-short staffed so it took some time for us to get our food. Walking distance from our hotel and had a good rating - my kind of place. We got there at 6 and the place was packed. A steady flow of folks coming in and going out...plus a ton of take out. This place is a fantastic Mexican restaurant. I am from Mexico City and finding this place in the middle of South Dakota was a very pleasant surprise. What was even more surprising is that they serve vegetarian options, heck you can eat a vegan enchilada, just skip the cheese and the sour cream and voila! That is what I had, the spinach and mushroom enchilada in tomatillo sauce. The rice is delicious so as their beans which have a very authentic flavor all for $7.97!!! My husband had the vegetarian burrito and it was delicious, it had more vegetables than the typical lettuce, tomato and bell peppers found at Mexican restaurants, the burrito also has carrots, mushrooms and spinach. As other Yelpers had pointed out, portions are very large, so if you are not that hungry split an entree. Finally, service was super fast and kind. It's a fast food type atmosphere but the food is top notch quality. We enjoyed it very much. I had their chili relleno and a chicken enchilada. Very good taco crispy as well. Their queso was a little runny. Our waitress really was inexperienced. She did not know the menu or what some of the items even were.
