Probably one of my favorite restaurants as a Mitchell local. The atmosphere is homey and quiet. I usually get great service here. And they always serve you good food and generous portions for a good price. I like that they don't have many screens here. When my husband and I eat out, we don't want to watch TV together, we want to visit. There are places to sit if you want to watch the TVs, but I really like that they don't have many in the restaurant. They remodeled recently, thankfully they didn't change the things that I loved about the restaurant before, just the entries/foyer area and the exterior. They have a nice kids menu that is a coloring page, they have helium balloons that they give to the kids at the front desk when you're done eating, and they serve everyone a little dessert sopapilla when you get your bill. There's something to be said for a place that consistently delivers. That's Corona Village for me. My favorite has always been the Corona Burrito with picadillo and I'm in love with the new Corona Tropics mocktail. I've tried nearly everything on the menu over the years and I keep coming back for more. Anytime friends and family visit, this is where we go - you should try it too! Looking for evening eats in Mitchell, Corona Village was there to serve. Corona Village looks like a family restaurant with its booth seating and tables for larger parties. They present so too because they broke out Happy Birthday performances in the visit for guests, so that was nice and the staff seemed fairly into it. I Got my enchilada on along with a couple literal Coronas and though not the best, definitely hit the spot after a long day. Beers were a tad high as was the side of guac when the bill came but I suppose it's somewhat expected given the inflation afoot currently. A warning about the guac would've been nice. Also as big as the menu is, I didn't see an option for a side of Tacos. That would've been cool. Still though solid Mexi food out in SD and convenient to walk to from the surrounding motels. read more

We arrived after 2:00 on a Monday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. The restaurant was very clean and our waitress (I believe her name was Ricky) was extremely helpful and pleasant. Prices were very inexpensive and I took home enough leftovers for another lunch! Highly recommend! read more

Food is mediocre - we didn't even dine in - but what gets the one star review is the service ... upon entering the establishment to order takeout was not even greeted. There were four tables seated in the entire restaurant and the server didn't even acknowledge me until I actually called the restaurant (while inside!) to bring him up to the front so I could even mention that I wanted to order. He was rude and condescending when I asked questions, and snarky and incompetent while taking the order. Upon getting the order he never let me know how long it would be and basically ignored me until he brought it to the front for me to check out. He continued to speak with another server at the desk all the while cursing and speaking negatively about being "stuck there" late because the next server coming in was running late. Overall, very unimpressed with this establishment. This is our second time through Mitchell and stopping here and will go out of our way for better options in the future... read more

We were kind of chuckling about the outside-- it was slightly in need of a good hosing. Then we got inside and the bartender came to our table to take our drink order-- nice guy but a bit rattled. We were a bit concerned that we had miscalculated. Then the food arrived. A Dios Mia! My partner had the carnitas and I had the pollo malteado. He had refried beans, I had the whole beans. It was all so ridiculously good, I don't even know how to express it. The staff was working hard (except perhaps the hostesses- how about running chips and salsa when there is no one to seat?) and the food was excellent. The margaritas were delicious. Worst blended raspberry margarita ever! Was blended so much it was almost on the rocks and was super sour. Asked for a new one and waitress gave me deer in headlights and asked what I meant. She got the owner and he came out with the "premix" they use. I asked if they could make a proper one with tequila, flavor and ice and not use the premix. Ditzy waitress then states she could make me one on the rocks. Ummm...no. They refused to remake the drink and charged me for the one that was not consumed. Food was mediocre at best. chips tasted like Old Dutch store bought. A slight variation on your standard Midwestern-ish Mexican restaurant - I say "variation" because this location uses cheddar cheese and the chile relleno was more like a pepper wrapped in egg? I'm not sure if there was any breading involved at all to be honest. (I wasn't a big fan and I have to admit, I've had my fair share of these not-so-healthy peppers;) Other highlights: -great service -loved the chunks of cilantro in the salsa - all about the chunks -beautiful tiled bathrooms -spacious and colorful booths -beans available as refried or "cholesterol-free" (I opted for the healthier of the two and really enjoyed them - I probably could have made a meal out of the beans) -Bonus! But also, blessed with a flavor to die for. My food was a steak that was thin... Which you'd think was not good... Actually by Orin's raven it was sooo good and tender.
