Authentic Delicious Mexican Food We stopped here for a quick lunch on our way to black hills. The food was excellent, service was quick and the portions were huge for the reasonable price. The owner is great the food is clean it runs fine but when the owner thin gentleman is not around the staff will ignore you they will look at you and still ignore you unless you get up to try to speak to owner is when they jump in. In the real world this place gets 2 stars, but remember, this is So Dak. We're lucky there's some form of Mexican in Mitchell. It's worth a stop to get your Mex fix. Their food is overpriced for what you get and it's not really authentic. Depending on what you get it may be a little bland. BUT REMEMBER this place caters to some of the palest people in the country! They get a bonus star for that feat alone ;) If they become any more authentic they might go out of business. I'm half kidding. They have decent top shelf margaritas though. That is a big compliment coming from me. Asking for a margarita around these parts of the country is like asking a bar tender to turn water into wine or something. I've lost count of how many disgusting margaritas I've had elsewhere but Corona Village's are decent. Customer service is good. Oh and they have wifi!!! Since moving to SD my personal fave Mexican joint is Tortilleria Hernandez in Sioux Falls. They need to turn that place into a full blown restaurant! read more

We stopped for dinner on our way to Sturgis. After a long day of riding, I couldn't wait to have a cold cocktail and a nice dinner. The restaurant is located right off the Interstate and in the middle of a bunch of hotels so it's nice and easy to find. I ordered a margarita which was delivered promptly and it was made with their own margarita mix. It was delicious and reasonably priced. The chips and salsa were pretty good. I really liked the salsa, it was flavorful and had a nice bite to it. Dinner was delicious. Large portions were served. My husband had the arroz con pollo and I had the steak tacos. Both had tons of quality meat and great flavor. I liked that you could choose between regular refried beans and fat free. The service was excellent and the food was worth stopping for. read more

The chipotle sauce is AMAZING!! It is good on everything. The salsa was good and had a little heat, which we like. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and they were just okay, they had been dropped into the deep fat fryer to cook and they were overcooked. The servings are huge!! The service was great!! To be fair we are from NM and our expectations are pretty high for Mexican food, if we are ever back in Mitchell we would go again. Grande Margarita was a 5 star!!! read more

1st of all, Corona Village was open on Sunday during my weekend in Mitchell. Quickly greeted and seated by friendly staff. Chips and salsa- excellent with some kick! If you like Mexican food, you owe it to yourself to eat here. I had the Fiesta Asada and it was off the chart. In this restaurant, people literally "ooo and Ahhh" when their order arrives. Was very disappointed with the taste of the food we ordered. We were hungry from traveling all day and like Mexican food normally but did not care for any of the food ordered here at Carona Villiage. We had seen good reviews on yelp so we were excited to try it and the food presentation was good but that was all as we didn't like any of the food that we tried and not even the salsa. We wondered if there was a recent change in cooks as none of the food had good flavor. The chicken vegetable soup was the worst we had ever had and went mostly uneaten . We both love shrimp fajitas and found that they were not good at all. We were polite but honest with the waiter and ladies who took our payment but they did not really care about our unpleasant dining experience. We stopped in on a road trip after seeing the yelp review. What a lucky end to a day on the road! I had chicken mole with the ranch beans and asked for veggies instead of rice. The waitress was helpful and receptive to my request for the low car choice. The mole was so good--and I studied mole a bit on a food trip to Oaxaca--.served on a hot plate with Smokey beans and a generous portion of chicken glistening with dark mole made from raisins, Chile's, cinnamon, orange, tomatoes and other secret ingredients. My date had the chimichanga which he said was good too--but I had no need to go plate surfing. Wait. I didn't even get to the pomegranate margarita yet. Yummy. Or how Israel, the owner, came to the table to talk Mexican food and brought us a sample of the Margarita Fresca. Are you tired of those syrupy, artificial mix Margaritas? Yuck. My husband and I were traveling through to see the corn palace and found this place last minute for dinner. The hostess/our waitress was extremely friendly, as was all the other staff we interacted with. For $25 we feed 2 people and we couldn't even finish it all. I saw a fish taco as a part of another meal and asked if I could have just fish tacos as a meal. She let me know that the dish I wanted was normally a lunch option but that it would be no problem to serve it to me now. The dishes came at the same time and very fast. In our meal was included free chips and salsa, as well as a small dessert of 2 sweet tortilla chips with fruit drizzle and whipped cream, the perfect finish. We found this restaurant on Yelp when we were on the way to Mount Rushmore in June (2013). From the outside it doesn't look any more (or less) impressive than the zillions of other Mexican restaurants in hand me down buildings that have become as ubiquitous as Chicago gang violence. The food is where Corona Village set themselves apart, and above, the others. The food is fresh and delicious, portion size is grande and beautiful to the eye, menu selection was vast, service was excellent, and the prices were more than reasonable and a great value. Corona Village is definitely one of my top 10 dining memories and I strongly recommend that should you are hungry and near Mitchell South Dakota you absolutely must check it out! read more
