On a cross country trip with my family from Louisville Kentucky and noticed a lot of these locations through several of the state's we have travelled. We do not have these back home so we stopped in. We went through the drive through. I'll start off saying the food was just ok. Nothing spectacular but not bad at all. 3 star all day on it. But I'm giving this location a 4 star for something a lot of fast food places don't get credit for. We received great customer service. The gentleman working the drive thru was very patient while my family of 6 decided what to order. He offered inputs and even figured out a way to make my picky 10 year old happy and created there version of taco bell cheese roll up. Which is something I do not believe is on there menu. But he made it happen and it made her happy. So thanks to that guy! read more

I wanted to eat here out of curiosity because we have similar wanna-be Mexican restaurants like this one in California. This company has been around since 1969 and they still have not learned how to make good food. I ordered a beef combo burrito with tater tots and a drink. The burrito was terrible and was not hot at all even though I just ordered it. The only thing I enjoyed were the tater tots which were a bit too salty. read more

I did not have a good experience here. I used to app to order curbside. There must be an issue because this is the second different Taco John's I placed a curbside order for and they never came out with my order. They even asked for car information. Automatic point deduction for that. I walked in five minutes after the app said my order was "ready." The young woman behind the counter seemed annoyed. "I was wondering if you were coming in. We don't bring orders out." Sorry, I was just following instructions from the app. After that encounter, she walked away. Seriously? About five minutes later someone else brought me the order. It looked like it was high school staff night as all three people on duty were probably in their teens. The food was no longer hot by the time I received it. I ordered guacamole on a burrito, but there was barely any. Maybe a half teaspoon at most. At least the potato ole's were good, despite not being warm. read more

We purchased the six pack and a pound last night. There was only enough meat on three tacos to make one decent taco. There was minimal cheese and lettuce and no tomatoes. My husband and I each made one taco from three and vowed to not patronize them again. read more

I am not at all happy with my experience at this establishment today. I ordered two super burritos, along with other items through the drive thru. I thought I received all items, as ordered, but was quickly disappointed when I took a bite of my burritos, and found one to be a bean and cheese burrito and the other to be an all beef burrito. On top of this error the chips were old and stale, and potato oles were soggy and had too much seasoning. I used to love Taco John's growing up, but I can tell you I won't be back to this location ever again. read more

I was disappointed with the food served. Mushy meat in a shell. No lettuce or tomatoes. I can't really handle tater tots as part of the meal. Another taco and some veggies on it would have been better. I felt the meal was over priced. Staff seemed kind of disengaged at the drive thru. Sorry. Not as good as Taco Bell. read more

Taco Johns in Mitchell SD is not a place you want to go to eat. The employees are very rude and subjective. I had 2 coupons. They told me I could only use 1 coupon per visit. So I used the first one, left the premises and came back, and they would not let me use the second coupon. Very unhappy. Called and spoke with the manager and he was disrespectful. Wish I could give less than 1 star. read more

What has happened to the service at Taco John's?! Went to lunch and ordered at the counter went to find a table (it was moderately busy) suffice to say did not hear them call out MY order so by the time I went and checked food was sitting there - cold. No way they could have called it more than the once even though other orders were being called out before and after. Don't even get me started on the young girl that took my order, can young people not do the math?? I tried giving her the change -employee "sorry to late I pushed the button", me "you mean it will mess up the system if you put in the correct amount but not what you entered?" dumbfounded look she gives "sorry I already pushed the button". Then when I picked up my order I let her know they were out of napkins and could I have one. She just looked at someone else and told them and neither one did anything about it. By the time I left they still had not put napkins out. They were not that busy!! Only reason I gave 2 stars is because even cold the food was decent. read more
