this place is alwaysss amazinggg! my favorite is the ice cream nachos, but when i went they didnt have them. im sure you could easily ask for some and theyd order more but we're only in south dakota for a few days so instead i got a delicious burger and fries and some cotton candy ice cream! the service was amazing, staff is always friendly here and the food comes out pretty quick! the vibe is a solid 10/10 ill always stop here when we come to south dakota! read more

After the required corn palace visit, we stopped in for a quick lunch. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table. We had burgers, fries, gems (tater tots), and chili cheese fries. The food was reasonably priced and ours was ready fast. Overall our meal was good, but not great. The Chili cheese fries were probably the best thing we had. They were made with shredded cheese (imo better than cheese sauce) and thick chili with just right amount of spice. There are only a handful of tables and some counter side bar stools. We found a seat right away as some people were leaving. By the time we left, it was packed and I overheard that the wait for food was around 30 mins. read more

Usually Zesto's in Brookings sd is a great place to eat. Used to be at the top of my list. However the last 2 times I have gone there the food mainly burgers and chili dogs tasted old and were not edible. Not sure what they are doing differently but whatever it is it's not working. I'm not sure if I want to spend the money there in the future for food that I will end up throwing away. Hopefully management or owner see's this and looks into this matter so I can feel comfortable dining there again. read more

Off beaten path but not far from the Corn Palace. We had pizza burgers to/from Sturgis. Burger was a great both times. Staff is super friendly. Quick service. Highly recommend adding a shake to your meal. read more

Solid choice if you are looking for a quick meal. We were traveling through town and needed a quick lunch. We arrived at ~11:45 on a Thursday and it was full with a steady line of customers coming in the whole time we were there. The space is pretty small but it looks looks like they have some outdoor seating of the weather cooperates. Our group grabbed cheeseburger (4/5), mushroom and Swiss burger (3.5/5) fries and tots (4/5) and chili cheese fries (5/5). Burgers buns were simple but delicious and buttery. The burgers were pre made pattys and the mushrooms were from a can. Cheese fries were standout if the meal. We didn't opt for ice cream but it looked really yummy. One note, by the time we left people were being told it would be 30 min wait for hot food so there is a potential For a bit of a wait for "fast" food if they are understaffed. Overall the food was basic but tasty. Service was good and you could tell it was a popular choice in town. read more

Pretty standard "burgers and ice cream" joint but not a chain, so there some personality. Cheese balls (curds) were too heavily breaded and the condiments were a bit liberally applied which made a mess. But all in all everyone left full and happy. read more

honestly won't be coming back. the service has always been mid but i enjoy a kelly special and some ice cream every once in a while, the most recent time i came the customer service was horrible. the person taking my order was rude and had one heck of an attitude. not only was the service pretty rough but the environment is filthy. i don't know how this place is passing inspections, the mixers were not once cleaned in the time i was there and they made my ice cream on a dirty mixer. read more

Zesto locations are all a little different so don't expect it to be the same as other locations as far as menu. I like the one in Brookings SD better then this location. I've found yet another amazing burger joint in South Dakota, this time it's in the beautiful town of Mitchell, SD. The burger was absolutely juicy and incredibly fresh, so were the fries. Where else can you find a Bacon Cheeseburger, fries and an iced tea for under $8.00? You can at this place! If you're a fan of nostalgic burger joints, then this is one place you've got to try. The ambiance of this burger joint is incredible, though I didn't try any, they do offer an really yummy looking milk shake menu. This is a must try spot! read more

My Boyfriend and I loved to go to Zesto's all the time, mostly because of their customer service. Tonight completely ruined that for us. My Boyfriend ordered sixteen wings they rang us up for eight. After we ordered we went to the only open table and it was caked with ice cream and food and stuff so we went outside to sit. The lady brought our food out after a very long time, and we found out that they messed it up. After arguing for a while my boyfriend said he will just take the eight. As she was walking away she took our number and my boyfriend asked if our ice cream was still coming. She said "They are working on it, I just cook". Very rudely. After a while we realized our ice cream was never coming, after everyone inside was gone. My Boyfriend went in to ask them they said they couldn't find us so they threw it away, which they never come to look outside for us like the lady did. It was ridiculous and very rude. Zero stars! So incredibly dirty! I've never seen such filth! Watched the cashier go from taking money to making ice cream without hand washing. Cleaning rags laying all over the counter and used on whatever - counter then machine then counter again. Floor looked like it has never been washed. I did not eat the ice cream that I ordered- the things I witnessed while I waited for it to be done made me sick to my stomach and I lost my appetite. I love drive-ins, but this was a disappointing experience. The great thing about these places is you usually get a uniquely local experience with decent food and good service. In this case, the food was average (at best) and the service was as apathetic as I've ever seen. It was like our visit was a huge annoyance to the employee (there was only one, and we were the only customers.) I ordered their "collider," which is basically their version of a Blizzard. I don't know what it was, but it definitely wasn't soft-serve ice cream. Got kind of watery and just didn't taste very good. Corn dogs were direct from the freezer into the fryer. We were really excited to try the local ice cream shop. I was disappointed when we arrived. The facility is filthy. The front of the shop is in the parking lot. You smell car exhaust while you are waiting to order. There is ice cream and remnants of other food on the pavement where you order. We went to sit down in the eating area and it was absolutely filthy too. Tables were dirty, pavement was disgusting, trash was over flowing. And, the selection of things to order was weak. They didn't have toffee crunch for ice cream cones, who doesn't offer toffee crunch with ice cream? The filth & grime are enough to keep us away from this establishment. read more

Filthy dirty inside. Had a sweet cashier tho. She answered all my questions but the food was over priced. They might spend a little time cleaning the place up. I spent over 2.oo for a fountain soda that was mostly ice then I was charged for a refill .. my burger was burnt to a crisp and my bun smelled moldy.
