Steak Top Shelf Fajita Quesadillas**
Lauren-Ashley B.

Service is always nice and welcoming. Food is consistently delicious. The 2 times I've came with my boyfriend I ordered the steak fajitas quesadilla. Huge portions, generous on the meat and the steak is flavorful. The beans are good but needs a little more seasoning. Will definitely be back. Queso was good the second time we went and chips are always fresh and thin.

Yikes ! Budget Tex Mex . Staff are nice . Food is mediocre. They have a Wednesday special. This place seems big with seniors on a budget .

Always good food. Service was fast. Place is clean and the vibe outdoors was very nice for a Fall lunch with friends.

I haven't been to an El Chico in a long time and decided to come here with a friend for dinner. The service was great and our waiter was attentive. I ordered guacamole for the table and it's prepared in front of you. The guacamole was made nicely but could've went with a little less lime. For my entree, I ordered the mama's favorite enchilada dinner (one beef, one chicken) and it came with rice and beans. It is your typical texmex but I enjoyed it.

The story and Tex - Mex continues! Not many El Chico's left of the once dominant restaurant chain. Mama Cuellar herself would approve of this location. When in Rockwall Tx and you want original Tex -Mex , this is the place. You can still order by number . Had the Dos today , and it was very good . Decor and atmosphere enhance the dining experience. The smell of sizzling fajitas tantalizing!

Chicken Enchiladas!

Back in 1990 this El Chico was as dark as a dungeon and the bar was only about 3' long. But it was one of only 3 or 4 restaurants in town, so we all ate here. Flash forward about 30 years, and there are a pile of restaurants on every corner. Heck; there are 5 or 6 Mexican restaurants! But El Chico has kept up with the times; it has been remodelled inside & out, it is as light and bright as a park, and the food is still excellent! My Chicken Enchiladas were as good as I remembered, and the Queso Blanco was thin but super good! On Wednesday nights, the Cheese Enchilada special is cheaper than most fast food - at a sit down meal with fantastic service! Trust me; the Rockwall El Chico is worth checking out! (Again!)

El Chico is always a good choice for decent Tex-Mex. Not too many of these restaurants left and this one has been here and been solid for many years. The food and the service is always consistent and the whole family enjoys dining here. It would be nice to see the fountain flowing again, but I'm sure it was a maintenance nightmare.

Came with a coworker for an early dinner and the experience was lackluster. To echo the other…read morereviews, the customer service is severely lacking. We waited to be seated (although the restaurant was near empty) - We waited for the first approach by our waitress (and put in appetizers and mains) because we didn't know how long it would take to return. I started out with the calamari and this was enjoyable..., and for mains, ordered a gyro pita + fries (add lettuce, extra onion and tzatziki sauce). The gyro meat came out lukewarm and barely any sauce. The fries were decent - its fries. I definitely won't be back.. I was craving a gyro and this was the nearest spot. Service terrible and food lacking.

Ok! What a hidden gem this place is!…read more From the moment you walk in and catch the cool bar vibe to the moment you're seated, you're greeted by the amazing smell of all things Greek--and it's incredible. The menu made it hard to choose (everything sounded so good!), but I finally landed on the Theo Platter--and wow. The gyro meat was perfectly seasoned, the sausage had a nice kick, and the beans and rice were delicious. But the hummus stole the show! I'll definitely be getting more of that next time. I really wanted to try the frozen Greek marg, but turns out they don't offer it anymore (so... why is it still being advertised? ). I pivoted to my second choice, the frozen marg--but nope, not available either. Ended up with a margarita on the rocks, which was tasty, but still--menu update, please? Didn't spot a Happy Hour menu, and the parking lot layout is a little awkward. That said, the staff was super helpful, the food was AHHHHMAZING, and the vibe was totally hip. Add it to the Love List!

Still good, just a bit too crispy. Service: Friendly, but they dropped the ball at the end. Both drinks ran dry, I sat there forever waiting to pay, and my bottomless coffee was not exactly bottomless. A refill or faster checkout would've made a big difference. Prices: I walked out $30+ lighter, just myself. Breakfast/coffee/tip. The vibe is classic hipster cute with nice decor, but it gets surprisingly loud in there. Would return for those waffles, just maybe not on a rushed morning.

The food was ok but REALLY overpriced for what you got. Charging almost $13 for a single piece of toast with a small cup of fruit and yogurt is just ridiculous. We got 2 coffees and 2 meals, and our total was almost $60. Lastly, I don't know why everyone raves about the biscuits. They were dry and had an almost cornbread like consistency. Felt like someone from up north was told about southern biscuits and this was their attempt at making them without actually knowing how to. I personally won't be back but given how busy they were, I'm sure some people don't have a problem overpaying there.
