I had a free hour before heading to a meeting and had a strong craving for tacos. I've been struggling to find an authentic Mexican restaurant/Taco stand with reasonable prices in Maryland. I took a leap and came here and it was amazing. They're located in a Shell's gas station which made me happy. Usually when restaurants are located in areas like this, they are usually the biggest gems. I was correct about this place. The tacos are $2.50/e which is still absurd (just moved from FL where they're 6 for $5) but I obliged. I choose to get 5: 2 pollo, 2 carne asada, and 1 al pastor. I like my onions grilled so I requested it instead of raw onions. There was a language barrier, but I had tons of photos in my phone so I showed the cashier and she showed the chef and they happily accommodated to my request. The wait time was about 7/10 minutes. Great. I started off by tasting the verde salse. It was good. Not too spicy and somewhat dull, but it was still good. I think it had small avocado chunks in which was new to me. The al pastor didn't wow me at all. It was bland but the salsa gave it life. The pollo taco is shredded and yummy. Flavor in every bite. Carne asada was definitely my favorite. The stars are for the food, which was very good and tasty and most importantly authentic. I can not say much about the drinks since we finished the meal without them. This is a wake up call to the management and the owner, the kid helping at the front desk and as a waiter is not enough for a Friday afternoon, when we arrived to the restaurant it was empty which we thought it was a good sign, we were awfully mistaken (ordered food with no drinks, waited 30 for the food and did not even got offered chips as other tables). The restaurant kept filling up and started leaving because of the long waits to be taken orders and get the food. The Carne asada tacos were really good and classic, with the exact toppings you'll eat in Mexico, the downfall for this was the sides: Rice and beans, beans were uncooked and hard to chew. I was a little disappointed in the lack of pineapple in it, though. Every other taco place I've been to serves it that way. What saved it was their avocado sauce/salsa that came with them. At least the tortillas were kind of crispy, which I enjoyed. There is some seating here, though not a ton. There are two booths that are right next to where people line up to order, meaning they're practically unusable if it's busy. The service I experienced was only okay. The staff lost track of my order and it took longer than it should have to come out. I understand that stuff happens during the lunch rush. Stuff like that doesn't normally bother me, but the cashier kept repeating "Too many tickets!" when I'd try to ask her about my food. Instead of making excuses, I'd prefer they just figure out what's going on and bring me my food. And maybe they should work on creating a better system for organizing their orders if they consistently have trouble keeping track of things during their lunch rush. read more

Later when I went to eat my burrito after my daughter had finished hers, only a small soft tortilla was in the bag. Turns out they girl gave me the wrong order. When I noticed, it was late and they were closed. I went back a couple days later and spoke with the same girl. She was so rude and said I needed to call when I noticed it.... they were closed. I was going to order another two burritos and one should have been at no charge since I paid for one previously that I never received. After explaining the whole thing, she rings me up and charges for two burritos. Shouldn't one be no charge? She says no, I need the receipt. She really thinks I would lie about it?
