That cake was SO dry that when I went to put a piece of cake on a plate the frosting just fell off away from the cake. There was a space between the cake and the frosting. It didn't stick to the cake. The cake looked dry and the first bite could have choked a horse! It was terrible! What a waste of money. I called and told them only to get just an " I'm sorry". They said that they put their cakes in the freezer before delivery and that's probably is what caused the problem. $30 down the drain. The only good thing is that it was decorated nicely. When I think of Bake Erie, I of course think of their colorful Ohio cookies with delicious frosting. If you catch them during the day you'll see a bigger selection, but I was there near close so cookies were all that was left (but don't worry, we still bought). The inside has a clean, white feel to it that every teenager will love taking photos in. There's a few tables to sit and relax or you could take your bakery to-go while strolling the Marketplace. I have always wanted to live by a donut shop, my wish has come true! I arrived at around 10am…read morebecause previous reviews indicated that they stop serving once they run out even though they are open until 1pm. Unfortunately there wasn't a large selection available. Only 3-4 trays of options, which was disappointing. However, I'm not sure if it's because they ran out and I need to arrive earlier or they simply have a limited selection. I'll update this review again once I experience it earlier in the morning. I didn't dock any stars because the donuts that I did choose were oh so soft and tasty. Pillow soft! My mother also thoroughly enjoyed hers. I can't wait to return and try some other flavors- More to come!
