Cakes and what not are good but don't waste your money on the cream filled straights they are incredibly chintzy on the cream. Not worth the money and total disappointment to find so little cream.

This is the perfect place for anyone wanting to create a culinary masterpiece. They have anything that you can think of for baking, kitchen utensils, and kitchen appliances. I also love that they have a little bakery and coffee's area right when you walk in the door that has fresh baked goods that start off your morning on a sweet note. I had the apple cinnamon scone and it was delicious and perfectly made but wasn't as dry as usual scones that I've had in the past, which made this even more tasty. Would definitely recommend coming here for any of your kitchen or baking needs!

This store is unique! They have about any kitchen item you would need. Lots of alcohol, ingredients, and bakery treats. Loved the lemon cream cheese cupcake and the strawberry strudel stick. Always visit when we are in town.

Wow this place has everything. Wines, beer including local Ohio assortments. Cooking gadgets, mixers, cookie and cake supplies. I could spend all day wondering around looking at the mass selection of goods. I know you are wondering then why only 2 stars? They have crammed 10lbs in a 2lb bag. The place is so small. Aisles are narrow and they have crap on the floors and hanging from the shelves. No place for 2 shoppers to pass in the aisles and made me feel a bit trapped. The aisles were a maze. I think they may have outgrown the current space.

Great stop on a Sunday morning for a donut and coffee to go. The two employees, one named Grace, were very friendly and quick behind the counter. The donuts are amazing!! We had a festive pumpkin donut and blueberry donut. We grabbed a coffee to go, there were several choices, one of which was pumpkin spice.

You can see that it's lopsided. Note the bees and lettering at the top were NOT provided by Thrushs

So this review is on the actual cake that I ordered. I had ordered a cake for my friend's gender reveal party. They were good about working with us to offer to die the cake pink or blue if we needed. But we opted to do a 2 layer chocolate cake with pink/blue frosting in the middle (it was $1 extra to do the 2 layers with frosting in the middle) We only needed a small cake so we ordered a 6 inch round cake which was $8.99 which I thought was a good deal since they let us choose the flavor, and they decorated it how we liked. (This does NOT include any 3D fondant embellishments like letters, flowers or figurines. Those would cost extra and I believe would be priced as wedding cakes.) Note: Having the cake decorated in fondant costs more. Also, I recommend taking in a picture if you have a specific design in mind. I had previously used Thrush's to order a cake for my friend years ago and we took a picture in and the cake came out exactly how we wanted. This time, I didn't have time to print a picture and the design we wanted was pretty simple so I just showed the picture to the guy taking the order. The design didn't come out exactly what we had wanted but it was too late to change it (my friend wanted medium/large size polka dots going around the cake kind of like in this link: http://simplysweetsaz.blogspot.com/2011/05/gender-reveal-cake-pink-or-blue.html but they ended up being really tiny dots instead.) Not a big deal but not exactly what she wanted. I did notice that this cake that we ordered did have some flaws (as opposed to the cake I had ordered years ago). I'm not sure if that's because we picked it up the day before we needed it. They told us to store it in the fridge and it'd be ok. When we took the cake out the next day, there was a crack in the fondant on the one side. Also, the cake was kind of lopsided, which you can see in pictures when you look at the cake from the side. As for the taste, it was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and tasted pretty good. I gave Thrush's 4 stars because I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and chalking up the flaws (crack and being lopsided) to the fact that we picked it up the day before. I'll probably use them again in the future but will remember to: 1) Take in a picture of the cake 2) They require at least 2 days notice for special order cakes 3) pick up the cake the same day it's needed if possible

Amazing pastries. It to mention they were playing Prince when I walked in. Great assortment to choose from. They made dog treats as well.

Looks pretty amateur-ish so we were disappointed by that. The taste was good but never get a dark color frosting. It dyes your mouth.

Sprouting Chefs is new to the Ann Arbor area, and offers hands-on cooking classes for children and teens ages 8-16. Reasonably priced at $45 a session and conveniently located in the spacious kitchen of the Westminster Presbyterian Church on Scio Church Road, Sprouting Chefs offers attendees the chance to make new and theme based meals in a safe, fun and supportive environment. Throughout the 2 1/2 hour class, Lilian and an assistant provided supervision and instruction to the students, as they moved through all of the steps to make three age appropriate, yet creative menu items. In the class my daughter attended, they made a cucumber salad, homemade Southern-style macaroni and cheese, and mixed berry shortcakes with lemon curd. Completely at ease with the children, Lilian infused the class with instruction on technique, such as how to properly hold a knife; kitchen rules, such as to always say "behind" when you are coming behind someone with boiling water or a hot pan; and nutrition information, such as information on the differences between organic, locally grown and conventional produce. At the end of the class, which included a generous tasting of all the dishes, my daughter and her friends left with a take home bag of the dishes they had prepared and a recipe booklet so that they could make the recipes at home with their families. The girls had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend the class to other children and teens who enjoy and want to learn more about cooking.
