I have had nothing but great experiences with Eston's! I found them at a wedding expo where we tried samples. They did the cake for our wedding and cheesecake for the grooms "cake" (my husband's favorite). We had no issues and the cake was beautiful, exactly what we wanted. This was in 2017 haha. I only wish they were closer to my home, and I would order all the time, but honestly for special occasions I make the 40 minute drive! Call ahead to order and you won't be disappointed. I also had them do my gender reveal cake recently and it was cute and delicious. My SIL who isn't even a fan of chocolate was impressed and asked where it came from. I sent them the gender info via email and they were so kind coordinating what flavor cake we wanted with what would work to show off the color even doing a test run ahead of time with frosting and calling me back to let me know without ruining anything. You see horror stories online and they did such a good job! Very communicative via phone and email. Yum yum. Will be going back for my daughter's first birthday cake. read more

I ordered a beautiful chocolate strawberry cake for my husband's birthday. My nephew was to pick it up as I was not local. Overall no issues there and easy to order over the phone. The cake made it nicely to my sister's lakehouse in Indiana where we were vacationing. The cake was beautiful 6 in cake with three layers. I didn't get a chance to try it due to my dietary restrictions. Everyone either loved the cake or said it was very rich. read more

I ll start by admitting to being spoiled. I travel and get to live in a lot of different locations for months at a time so I've tasted a lot of foods/sweets. This is supposed to be one of the best in Toledo for cakes n cupcakes. My sweetie ordered half a dozen mix of cupcakes for me to try after I saw them online. Great service my baby says. He called in the order. They brought them out curbside. $15 for 6 cupcakes. I ll try almost anything once. Cupcakes were good not great. I can't see paying that price again or having a cake made with any of the flavors. Doing our part supporting local during these times but I don't think the price is equivalent to what u get. read more

Received a half dozen assorted cupcakes as part of a package that included the cupcakes and flowers from Bartz Viviano (the whole order/gift was ordered for me through B V) and it all made for a wonderful anniversary surprise and pick me up while I was at work. I haven't made it through all six of them yet but so far, they're amazing - and I'm sure the rest are great, too! Each cupcake in my order came in its own individual packaging. There wasn't a flavors list or stickers or anything to identify each cupcake (not a complaint but definitely something that would help) so I'm not entirely sure exactly what I've got but it's easy to look and get a good idea of what each flavor is. I liked the red velvet, the strawberry frosting on the vanilla cupcake was INCREDIBLE (vanilla cake isn't my favorite but it went well with the frosting and was just sweet enough)... but the Key Lime frosting... to die for... I only had a taste of that frosting as I transferred the cupcakes to my own airtight container so I can't really say how the cake on it was but I don't think I'll be disappointed AT all. The other three I have are some variations of chocolate... I think one is a mocha... but regardless, I've never met a chocolate cupcake I didn't like, so they're all already winners. I was told that my order had been rejected because the Zip code entered did not match my credit card. I received no call, email or text to inform me that there was a problem. We drove there to buy a chocolate raspberry layer cake. No special occasion. It just looked wonderful on their website. So we got the cake and 2 cupcakes to eat on theway home. 35 miles. I didnt make it out of the parking lot and i was munching on my key lime cupcake. Omg. Absolutely delicious. My wife got chocolate raspberry cupcake and it was outstanding as well. The best part was to come. When we got home and had dinner. We cut us both a piece of the chocolate raspberry layer cake. I cant say enough to explain how delicious this cake is. I called Eston's because I am working and living in NC to order a birthday cake to be delivered to my daughter the next day. A gal who answered my phone call and per the gal - bakery policy was that I had to place my order by 1 pm the day before. This was at 4:08 pm. All I wanted was a chocolate cake with HB. Simple. I recently decided to give Eston's another try, and was very pleased. The cake was decorated beautifully, and tasted very well (I got the strawberries and cream). We got our wedding cake from Eston's bakery so every year we go in and get a personal cake on our anniversary. This year we got there too late and they were closed. Luckily one of the employees was getting her car to leave and asked what we were going in to get. When we told her it was for our anniversary, she very graciously let us back in and got us our cakes. Just recently visited this bakery for the first time looking for a birthday cake for my mother in law. I called ahead of time to inquire about what the have in stock and was told about the cakes that they "always" have. Well when I went in that was not the case. They were literally out of everything and they had just opened. How can you open a store and not have any product? The staff said the owner would be bringing more cake up at some point but they didn't know what time she would be there, or have any idea what cakes she would be bringing. The poor customer service and misrepresentation continues. I also reviewed Eston's Baker on facebook and received this response from Eston's yesterday...4 months after my initial review: This incident was not how it was described to us. Our staff was told that they did not want to have the wedding in Toledo any longer and wanted to cancel. We always handle military families that have to deploy earlier than expected and will move their date up or back as needed to accommodate them. This was not the case. They just didn't want to have it in Toledo any longer. Not being deployed earlier than usual and just wanted to cancel like any other customer made it not the case as they describe. We followed our same procedures for cancelling wedding contracts since it was not due to a military deployment. Just a change of mind. We do support the military and have many times moved weddings up or back as needed to accommodate their needs. Again, this was not the case. We feel we our actions for all other military families show our support and we regret this incident with this family. This is my response: While I appreciate Eston's response 4 months later, I would like to clarify that I'm not positive the person who responded via Eston's even knows the situation aside from reading my review above; we were refused to ever speak with a Manager/Owner about the situation. And while Eston's may claim to be supportive of military families, if they think that being deployed is the only difficulties regarding time constraints and change of plans that military familes are faced with, then they absolutely have no idea what it is to be a military member, much less able to support them. Once again, if Eston's had truly been considerate of the situation, an alternative ending may have been the result. I personally would never want to support a business that has such poor considerations and customer service, regardless of how good their cupcakes are. read more

I stopped in today just to check the place out and see what they had to offer. My work friends had suggested the place and said they had wonderful items and boy were they right! I ended up with two mixed assortments: one of the cheesecake cupcakes and one of the regular cupcakes and I have to admit they are pretty amazing. The choices are vast and the flavors are amazing. Quality ingredients are at use here for certain. They even have options for mini cupcake assortments which seem very nice. And all the flavors are available daily so you don't have to worry about missing out because you came on an off day! YAY!! It's not a fancy establishment but it is very well kept. This is not only a place to pick up cupcakes but regular cakes are available as well and they seemed to be decorated very nicely too. Love, Love, Love! We ordered our wedding cake from Eston's back in May or June, the wedding took place over Labor Day weekend. It was a hit! Everyone loved the cake, I'm still getting compliments! We had chocolate fudge, key lime, and lemon berry. We waited until the last possible minute to look into cakes, as we are terrible procrastinators, and we have very difficult schedules to work with. They were so accommodating! We got in for a tasting within a couple days, we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes. The gentlemen who helped us was very professional, took his time with us, he went over every last detail. There were absolutely no surprises! Eston's made our decision so easy. As far as value goes, they were surprisingly the least expensive of the 3 or 4 bakeries we looked into. I've stopped in several times when I'm in the area to pick up cupcakes for the family, and we are always greeted with a friendly smile. They have quite a selection of readily available flavors for purchase. read more

We tried their cheesecake cupcake at a recent bridal show and we absolutely LOVED them! I booked a tasting and we were 5 minutes late, but called to let them know so they wouldn't think we were no-shows. Then we sat and waited for about 30 mins. while other customers walking in were being helped before us. They also only had about 4 flavors for us to try and could not even scrape up any of the flavors that we really wanted to try. The flavors that we did try were not as spectacular as I remembered them being at the show. Since we live down in Columbus, the manager told us to just come back next time we're in town and he would make sure we would get to taste the flavors we missed. Luckily, I have a friend who was moving from Toledo to Columbus next week who offered to pick up samples for us to try. I called Estons and was told that they had discontinued 2 flavors- 1 we liked and 1 we really wanted to try. There was no mention of this at our tasting literally 5 days ago. I was also told to call them back the day that my friend would be stopping in so they could "check and see if they had anything available". Overall, we experienced terrible customer service and I will not be trusting them with something as important as my wedding cake. read more

I stopped in to pick up a small cake as a surprise for my daughter. When I got home, I discovered it was the wrong kind. I called to complain explaining that it was my daughter's fav and she would not like the flavor I had received. They told me it should have a pink bow decorated in frosting. It had white. They were so rude, making me feel it was my fault I got the wrong one. They said I could bring it back and exchange and I said I was 30 minutes away. I asked for credit, for another time, or if they could mail me a voucher for one another time when I was back in that area. They said no to both. Either bring it back, or I was out the money. I ended up just throwing it away. Their cakes are not cheap and I can't believe they couldn't do anything for me. I have purchased many cakes in the past from them for special events, but after they eat they handled this...Never again. I spoke to the girl that was in charge and she did nothing. My wife first heard of Eston's from a friend. She bought some of their sample cakes to try and we both fell in love. We have tried the Chocolate Supreme, Strawberry Supreme, Tiramisu, and Zebra cakes...all very delicious. The frosting is just right (not too sweet, not too heavy or rich) and the cake is very moist. We have enjoyed their cakes so much, I ordered one for her birthday, and my wife ordered two large cakes for her cousin's birthday. After reading others' reviews and about their negative experiences, neither my wife nor I have had any trouble with Eston's...ordering, paying and picking up the cakes were very simple and painless. When I picked up the two large cakes, one of the associates even helped with carrying one of the cakes to my car. We have been singing their praises since we discovered Eston's and will continue to do so. read more

What can I say about ESTON'S? A few words come to mind. Words such as WOW, INCREDIBLE, EXTRAORDINARY and DELICIOUS are just a few. Not only did Eston's provide for us our wedding cake, but creating an unbelievable dessert/coffee bar for our guests. Being from NY originally, we had some pretty high standards on what we wanted from a visual perspective as well as from a taste perspective. Tony, Janeen and the entire staff went so far above and beyond in every aspect of our desserts. We had guests from all over the country and all we heard was how they had never tasted anything so delicious. The cake was light and tasty. The finger desserts were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Tony was amazing to work with. I ordered a Lemon Berry 8 inch cake for Christmas. We have not had this cake for about 5 years because the frosting separated from the cake and was old tasting previous. I thought we would give it another try. I called them this week and stated my concern. I also asked them to decorate like a "present". They stated they no longer decorate like that. They assured me the cake would be fresh..... once again, the frosting separated from the cake!! The cake decorations was not good! Red and green sprinkles is all they could do.
