What an absolute neighborhood gem! How fortunate am I to live in one of the cutest neighborhoods in Toledo? When I consider all the great locally owned options in this neighborhood, I would say pretty dang fortunate! The dollop shop does not disappoint. It's like walking into a hug. The owner has the warmest kindest soul. She radiates sweetness. How appropriate for a place that serves sugary bliss. I don't know how I haven't been in here sooner, but I'm probably going to need to add an extra night to my exercise routine... because I will be coming back. They have a great variety for such a tiny shop. They feature savory items, not just your usual cookies and cake cakes. Now let's talk about their sweets. Who has a beautiful orange olive oil cake just sitting ready to be devoured? I came in this morning on a last-minute run to grab a cupcake or something for my husband's birthday. Nothing like last minute, I spotted the most gorgeously decorated perfect petite orange olive oil cake. We will be going out of town and staying somewhere that doesn't have breakfast, so I was able to pick up a savory "everything danish" and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything looks beautiful. I asked for something oddly specific, a custom order, the kind of thing that usually makes bakers sigh. Instead? Perfect execution. Directions included. Stopped in for some hot tea and a treat. I ordered a London Fog and my husband ordered earl grey hot tea. We also tried the caramel chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate cupcake. I thought the cookie was delicious, it was like a thick cookie bar with gooey caramel inside. This place has been on my list since before we moved here. They had a 419 special and our friend made us some reservations. Right when you walk in the space is stunning. They have small tables and a bakery case to show all their tasty treats! Since we had later reservations the case was almost empty (which is a great sign) but what they had looked absolutely amazing. We were Raheem upstairs to the cutest room I'd ever seen. Their esthetic is very girly Victorian chic and this room was that to a "T". They had two beautiful Victoria style pink couches with the most darling decor inside. They even had board games inside this stunning armoire. We ordered some featured cocktails, macarons, and a charcuterie toast to share and was wanting more. The macarons were perfect and the cocktails were very tasty. We were finishing up and the owner stopped by to introduce herself and made her way to other tables to check in everyone. Our sever was the nicest and most accommodating and made our girls night perfect. It was such an amazing night! I will be making this a regular spot of mine. read more

Great study spot with a great $10 breakfast special! I get a large french press coffee pitcher (it's a lot of coffee!) and their egg croissant and set-up in their upstairs seating. The music is an appropriate volume (and the girlies have a great playlist). read more

If you want to go somewhere where they care about the customer and the product they serve- this is the place. Woman owned and centered- this bakery is an amazing treat! All of the baked goods are delectable! We went for their Galentine Tea- everything was delicious! My favorite were the mini apple pies. 3.5 stars. A cute little shop with open baking area that I can see from the front, and a very low-key, friendly man (wasn't sure if he was the owner or not) gave me a very good first impression. The main cashier area is not big at all; maybe just big enough to fit a handful of customers to place orders and pick up. Although I didn't get a chance to check out, the store is set up with multiple floors. I presumed the upper floor is a sit-in area, and my wife, who checked it out while I was placing my order said it was cute. I liked that I could see the back-area from behind the display cases, but it did seem a bit disorganized. (I would never take points off for this, but just an observation ;-) There are a bunch of different shops in the Cricket West strip mall, which is where DS is located, but it's in the back area, sort of tucked away from the main roads. I guess it matters less in these day and age, where everyone already has pinpointed out the places they want to visit before they go, but in the old days this could have been a problem with foot traffic. I went a little after lunch time, but a lot of items seemed to have sold out. I was under the impression the mini donuts were their signature items, but were sold out. I ended up trying four things; macaroons, a piece of chocolate cake, a croissant and a cup of hot chocolate. - Macaroons: I tried a few different flavors and they all tasted good. One flavor was baked superbly with crunchy outer shell and chewy fillings, but the others didn't quite meet the standards. Still tasted fine. - Chocolate cake: Cake was baked good, but I didn't care much for the icings, both layered and the top. For me, it was only slightly better than the grocery store-bought. - Croissant: To be fair, I didn't get to eat this until a day later, when it hardened a bit. But I could tell that it would have been a lot better right out of the oven. I'd love to try it again fresh. - Hot chocolate: Nothing to fret over. I was intrigued because it was advertised to be made with chocolate ganache and hot milk, but for me it was only slightly better than powdered chocolate. It might not be a fair comparison since I'm always thinking about higher-end drinking chocolate when comparing hot chocolate with. Overall, I didn't *not* like them, but I can't decide if it's enough for me to warrant a second visit. I guess time will tell.. read more

Ordered this cake and 4 dozen cupcakes for 30th anniversary party for 100 people. Picked up the cake and cupcakes 4 hours before the party. Cake was supposed to be pinks whites purples ivory. No blue was ever mentioned and states on the contract as such. The chocolate cake was supposed to have ganache it did not. The vanilla had raspberry curd thickened with corn starch per the owner and it was old and brown and gelatinous. The flowers were ranunculus flowers, not to be used around food and wilted. This picture was take straight out of the box. The cup cakes were dry and hard. You can see no pinks on those either. I was told to email the owner per the employee at the bakery. Not an apology or anything to try and make it right from the owner. In fact she was very rude. Beware of what your order. They "might" have good product in store, which is also hit and miss, it's another sorry when you order it. Your stuck and there's nothing you can do. I will never be back. read more

Such a cool addition to Toledo! They're located in the cricket west plaza. When I went they had all kinds of cupcakes, some mini donuts, cheesecakes and cake slices. They also do custom cakes. I got 3 cupcakes for my dads birthday. We got salted caramel and confetti. The one I had was absolutely delicious! They also decked out their upstairs seating, totally Instagram worthy!
