In my quest to find the best paczki in the Toledo Area, I did a Google & Yelp search, and Haas Bakery came up. This is the Saturday before Fat Tuesday and I thought they would have the individual paczki available. Much to my disappointment, I made the drive from Sylvania to Oregon only to find a sign on the front door saying Paczki Days & Hours: Sun 2/19 9am - 3pm Mon 2/20 5am - 6pm Tues 2/21 5am - 6pm One would've thought this being a bakery specializing in Polish baked goods and breads, individual paczki would be offered a few days prior to Fat Tuesday. They did have paczki pre-packaged 4 packs available and when I asked if there were any individual paczki available, I was told the 4 packs were all they had. Ugh! read more

Stopped into the bakery to pick up a dozen donuts for a client meeting. I am not from the area but after a quick search on YELP for the area of town I was headed to, I decided Haas was the spot. And boy was I right! The gals working in the shop were so friendly and upon hearing I had not been there before, quickly offered to put together a dozen that would be sure to please a crowd. The apple fritters are amazing! We were looking for a small square of white cake with white frosting for a birthday celebration with only the two of us. Rating this bakery is difficult. The variety of items in this small bakery is vast. Breads, donuts, pies, cakes, and desserts. The workers were friendly and helpful. The location is easily accessed and store is clean. A variety of items were purchased on our first visit. The snickerdoodle cookie was thick and a combination of soft and hard. I prefer a thin crunchy type of this cookie and didn't find it very flavorful. The strawberry turnover was on the heavier side and wasn't very light or flaky and didn't have a lot of filling. The chocolate eclair and cream filled stick was very good. The breads looked good, but none were purchased on this visit. read more

Have been going here since I was a little kid. Family has ordered tons of birthday cakes from Haas. Always great quality. The seasonal sugar cookies are my favorite probably in the whole city. We were in from out of town and consider ourselves expert cupcake tasters. Their buttercream is as good as it gets. Creamy, rich, not to whipped. Everything we had from the donut to the cookies, to the cupcake were spot on. I would recommend giving these bakers a taste. read more

Not being from this town originally, but having been here for a little over 3 years, I feel like this is an Oregon, OH secret. This place is amazing! On different days they bake different goods, so for you to get something fresh is an easy feat here. The staff is helpful and willing to accommodate little requests to make giving baked goods as gifts. They also have yesterday's bread at a great price as well. It always seems soft and it smells fresh. I'm currently in the area for a rotation and I think I'm going to be more of a regular there. The prices are affordable and the goods look great! Just one of those family-owned, truly superb bakeries. I was in the area visiting family and found myself craving a baked good. I turned to Yelp and found this place. It was a few miles from where I was at the time so I thought I'd check it out. It was Christmastime when I went and you could smell the aromas of cookies and cakes and donuts wafting in the wind when I parked the car out front. So many fresh baked good EVERYWHERE. Literally surrounding the inside. They had pies, cookies, cakes, donuts, breads, etc. Definitely a good place around the holidays if you need to take an assorted mix of Christmas cookies to your work shindig or the neighborhood block party. Or, let's be honest and say they might just be for yourself. I bought a dozen donuts and some cookies and I believe my total came to around $9 or $10. Absolutely reasonable. Everything was fresh. Fantastic donuts! I'm in love with the chocolate fry cakes (donuts). Hubby loves the sour cream cake donuts. But all the varieties I've eaten are some of the best. I make up reasons to drive the hour down to get a few. You have to get there quite early; before 10 am, to get the best pick. I've eyed the muffins and coffee cakes but haven't bought any cause i spend so much on just the donuts. The bakery is off 280 , Starr Ave exit, go east. If you are coming from the north, going south; you can't get directly back onto 280 South. But if you drive east past the bakery to the light and make a right, the 280 S. entrance is a couple lights down. read more

I'm from Colorado. I called this bakery to see if they might help take care of my dad on Father's Day. His favorite pie happened to be lemon meringue. Not only did they go out of their way to help me get it to him, but my father said it was an incredibly delicious and amazing pie. He LOVED it-- he was so delighted and happy! This is special as my father just recently passed. I am so grateful I was able to give him joy with the help of the wonderful people at Haas Bakery. Thank you Haas Bakery! I would also like to add while in town for services we ordered their cake. Again, Haas Bakery shines. Ordered a donut cake from Haas Bakery and picked up today for my daughter's birthday. The donut cake was 1/2 inch donut and 2 inches frosting. It was just terrible - no one liked it and we had to pitch it. Would never buy another one from them again! Follow-up as of 11/03/2011: Spoke with a representative of Haas Bakery this morning and she was extremely sorry that this happened and wanted to correct the situation. During the time my donut cake was made they had three people off due to illness/other circumstances and the quality during that time wasn't up to their normal standards. To correct this situation, Haas Bakery is going to make me another donut cake to replace the one I originally purchased. I was glad they followed up on my review -- that tells you alot about the quality and reputation of the business. FYI: At the time I ordered the original donut cake, I bought some donuts from Haas Bakery and they were very good! Therefore, after feedback from Haas Bakery and their sincere apology and willingness to replace the donut cake, I am going to change my review from a one-star to a four-star. Fabulous!! I purchased a sheet cake for my son's grad party and it was absolutely delicious. I had so many compliments on the cake and the whole cake was eaten at the party. It served over 100 guests it was huge. I had also ordered the mini pies and they were also delicious. I couldn't have been happier with the service and quality of these bake goods.
