    Vegan large Mexican pizza.

We absolutely love El Tipico, and have been regulars for years. The owner Dina is one of the kindest people we've ever met, and the food is some of the best around. I love the vegan Mexican pizza with pea protein crumbles and Mexican potatoes, their rice and beans, and the vegan super grande enchilada dinner with the fillings mentioned earlier. They have vegan sour cream too, which is delicious! Their vegan flan and mini chimis are also great.

Driving around after Jeep Fest we happened across this place and no one had even heard of it! Thought maybe it was new but after some research it has been around forever! Awesome service and great food! The restaurant is beautifully decorated! Will definitely be back! Definitely will be telling people to try this place!

Always a good meal at el tipico! It seems the other Toledo area Mexican places have been going downhill but not here! I always love the Mexican pizza! My boyfriend had the chimichanga and thought it was the best he's ever had! You have to give it a try if in the area. We always go when we're on that side of town visiting the zoo.

    Chicken enchiladas w vegan cheese

This meal was amazing! Being gluten and dairy free I can usually navigate Mexican food but this was truly a treat because they had vegan cheese and vegan sour cream! Thin and crispy chips with mine done separately to avoid cross contamination:) fresh salsa and homemade guacamole. Everyone loved all of the food. Excellent and authentic Mexican food and super friendly staff! I can see why they've been in the business for so long.

    Gluten free vegetarian chimichanga

Incredible food! I'm both vegetarian and gluten free, and they catered to all of my dietary needs which is hard to come by. My meat eater friends love the place too! Theres definitely a reason why the first Mexican restaurant in town is still up and running! -And excelling!

Yet another five star review! Hooray for consistency!!…read more I have been transitioning out of the bedside nursing and into more of a marketing role for the past six months. I have now met four different people here for lunch or picked up breakfast tacos for meetings. Every time the food is stellar. And all four times no one had heard of this place. Why are people not screaming about Lowrider Café from the rooftops? The food, already said hands-down amazing. The service? Always spot on! The owners should be on the shortlist for Toledo philanthropic business owners. When you come in here, you can also purchase a meal for someone who's homeless. They employ people that others wouldn't, and honestly, I'm here for it! I love seeing a local business that gives back to its community. You want specialty coffee? They've got it. Do you want fresh salsa to rival any other salsa in Toledo? They've got that too. You want to buy some great locally handcrafted bags/clothing/unique gift items? They've got you covered. You want a chill spot with a great vibe that just radiates good karma? Come on into low Rider. Bring a couple extra box and buy a taco for someone else too. You'll feel great about the Boy Scout deed. It's a karmic double win- not only are you feeding a local business, but you're also feeding someone who couldn't otherwise afford to feed themselves. This is food that doesn't just feed your belly and feed your soul.

My man has been talking about this place forever and raved about the tacos. So now that they got on GrubHub I can get delivery because they have some very odd hours. We ordered a breakfast taco with chorizo and egg chips and quesabirria tacos and the man was extra hungry so he even added in a couple hot dogs with fries. Now at this point it was almost closing time and I always tell him do not order food when it's near closing but he wanted it so we got it. So we didn't get any queso with the chips which is a little bit of a big deal for me because I don't particularly like salsa so if I get chips I get queso so since I didn't get any queso the chips are still sitting on the counter 3 days later. The breakfast taco was okay. Way too much cilantro in there. He ate his quesabirria tacos and he seemed to be mostly pleased. The hot dog completely sucked. Just no flavor and we threw the second away. Fries needed salt added. But.. I would have never ordered it from here myself personally but I tried it because hey it's here. It really didn't taste very good and there's no option to take off like onions or anything if you order online. Something for lowrider to think about for their online orders. Not everybody wants onion and relish on their hot dog. I'm impressed with the place because I know they do a lot for the homeless community but as for the food it's just average to me I've had way better in Texas and out west.

I had seafood Cioppino and my friend ordered Wild Boar Bolognese. We also shared Classic Hummust o share as appetizer. WOW, everything tasted great and delicious. I passed by the kitchen to go use the restroom and had to stop to enjoy all the dishes that were prepared and ready to serve. Even a simple Romaine Wedge looked so good with halal beef bacon sprinkled on it. Could not order any dessert since we both were full. A wonderful dining experience and deducting back for more if I am in the area in the future.

Went back to Souk last Saturday with 3 other dining partners and really had a great experience…read more We had a reservation and unfortunately, they seated us in the front room. It's nice in there, but it was just too loud for us. We asked our waitress if we could move to the back room. she checked with the hostess, and it was no problem. She graciously helped us move, thanked us and handed us off to our new waitress. She was really nice about everything. Our new waitress took our drink orders, and I decided to have a Manhattan. It was just the well whiskey (I'm guessing they used domestic whiskey, so the "e" needs to be there!) and it was really well made. They even used a giant ice cube that kept the drink well chilled without the dilution issues typical ice can bring. On to appetizers... We had the calamari and an order of hummus with onions and browned butter. The calamari was really nice, but kind of stingy. It was very well cooked, nicely breaded, etc. My one quibble is there just wasn't enough, especially for the price. The hummus... So, the hummus was a rather generous portion that was out of this world delicious. It was served in a large bowl with browned onions, brown butter, paprika and fried or baked chickpeas. The hummus reminded me of Middle East Market. Smooth, creamy, garlicky, well-seasoned. If you go to Souk and don't get this, you're making a huge mistake. After the apps, we moved on to our entrees... I had the crab cakes. They were really enjoyable, served with some nicely dressed, mixed salad greens. they were full of crab meat (but unfortunately not lump crab). The outside was crispy and the inside was very nicely cooked. Great flavor. One of the folks at the table had the butternut squash ravioli. It was probably my favorite dish of all that night. Amazing flavor and perfect texture. the thing that makes their ravioli the "leader of the ravioli wars" is they served them with a sherry, cream sauce that was just amazing. Kind of a sweet and savory, salty thing. Delicious. Our other guest had the Kafta Ravioli and said it was really good. I didn't try it, so I really can't comment, but it did look pretty great. After our entrees, we moved on to coffee and split a desert. Souk's Turkish coffee was great. It's been years since I've had Turkish coffee, but it was really strong and piping hot. Just perfect. We also split an order of their bread pudding. WOW! I've not had bread pudding that good since I was in New Orleans. So, my first trip to Souk really sucked (see my review). My guess is they were having a bad night, and we got stuck with a really sh*tty waiter. The place is expensive, but the food and drink substantiate the prices. Our waitress was very professional, she knew the menu and offered informed suggestions when asked. She seemed to know when we needed her. We were not rushed and really felt like they appreciated out business. Can't wait to go back.
