A friend and I visited El 58 on a weekday evening for dinner. We arrived just after 8pm. We didn't have a reservation and they were clearly busy, but they put our name down on the waiting list and we went to sit at the bar while we waited. After only a few minutes, we were seated at a cozy table for two against a wall. Instead of paper menus, El 58 uses cute chalkboards to show what's available for ordering. The chalkboards nicely compliment the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant, which is both chilled and more than a bit quirky at the same time :-) Tip: While El 58 is advertised as a "tapas" restaurant, many of the dishes served here are anything but small plates. Two of the dishes we ordered (the steak and the risotto) were served on huge plates, and could easily be construed as an entrée intended to be shared by two people. Service was friendly, welcoming, and completely on point. Our server suggested that we order no less than five or six dishes to share; everything is served "family style", and they bring each dish out when it's ready. Each and every dish featured unique flavors with lovely presentation and plating as well. While we couldn't finish everything, we left completely satisfied, with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Our smiles were grew a bit larger when we saw the check - the prices are so reasonable that I double-checked to make sure they had billed us for everything we'd order.

This place is a hidden gem. When you pass by it you wouldn't know it's a restaurant because the entrance is a bar. The menu is approachable with diversity in foods provided in multiple languages. The food is elevated without it being elitist. A must culinary experience during your time in Barcelona. Friendly service and eclectic decor makes you feel at home.

Busy little place that we discovered thanks to online ratings. We had to wait a few minutes, but well worth the effort. Staff does a good job of speaking English menu is translated too. The variety of Tapas dishes were well executed. Edgy, Spanish, continental fusion style. Well balanced and beautifully plated dishes. Eat here if you have an opportunity.

Everything we had was awesome. Staff spoke English and was a pleasure to deal with. Made our day. The sangria was best ever.

Had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed everything. Seafood tapas, smoked beef, octopus, risotto, eggplant with honey. Staff was super friendly and spoke English. Loved the food and sangria.

A bit of a wait for a table, but not too bad. They didn't think they could fit me in before closing, so they served me at the bar, which was fine. Potato Bravas and risotto were both amazing. Bartender was nice.

I stumbled upon this place and it was one of my best meals. I ordered a couple of tapas and shared with a friend. There was a tomato and micro greens salad with seared tuna, hot coal octopus with potatoes, braised tuna belly, and a beef carpaccio. We also had your typical bread with tomato spread and a sangria. Just ask your server for their suggestions and the most popular dishes. Everything was really wonderful.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

First time I went I ordered 1. Cappuccino - which was the best one I had while staying in Barcelona 2. Eggs Benedict - with pulled pork which was amazing 3. Pancakes with fruit - this was good but not eat your heart out good 4. Fresh squeezed OJ - yum yum The service was excellent - very friendly - just wished I had a place like this in the states. The Cappuccino was so good my friend who arrived a couple days after me wanted to see for herself - so I went again - since we actually already had a little breakfast I only ordered 1. There awesome Cappuccino - that chocolate drizzled on top was what did it for me. 2. Avocado toast with a fried egg - so fresh and delicious 3. Another glass of fresh squeezed OJ - always good All I can say if this place was just around the corner from me in the states I would be a regular - Please look this place up if you are ever in Barcelona - you will not be disappointed.

Our server, Amaya, was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He took great care of us, and every single recommendation he made was delicious. I wish I knew all the Spanish names of the dishes because everything was amazing. The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Barcelona!

I came here for lunch, and thankfully I didn't have to wait too long before I got seated inside. The interior is a bit on the smaller side, but it's quite bright with a lot of natural sunlight inside. For the food, I decided to get squid, codfish with honey allioli, and iberian ham montaditos. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me. If you just get one things when coming here, definitely make sure not to miss this dish. Highly recommend checking this place out for Spanish tapas, they represent the cuisine well!
