    Cheesecake with Mango

Lovely spot. A bit dark, but romantic~ this place is all about the glass bread "torradas." They have a lot of choices, it was kinda hard to just pick three. Staff was accommodating, food was good, wine was good, & special treat in the end. Would definitely come back~ I wanna try the cocktails! Food: Toasted Bread with Tomato Nice and toasty, & not soggy~ yay! Iberian Bellota Ham Very generous portion, and also yummy~ eat it with the toasted bread! Guacamole on a Parmesan Base Simple guac, but the parmesan base was awesome. Nice appetizer~ Grilled Aubergine, Mozzarella, and Caramelized Onions with Basil Vinaigrette Was totally diggin' the caramelized onions. Spicy Sausage, Goat's Cheese & Honey I think it could be more spicy, but the combo was delicious. Sauteed Spinach, Artichoke Hearts, Sundried Tomatoes, & Toasted Almonds YAS. I think I liked this one the best out of all three. Cheesecake with Mango A bit sweet for me, but it's dessert, come on. La Bomba del Delta (Crema d'Arros Bomba) Special treat! Aka complimentary shot~ great way to end the meal!

A great restaurant for good wine and a bite to eat. Relaxed atmosphere and filling tapas. Most come on toasts with 2 pieces per order. Unique combinations that pair great with their wines.

I won't be really unbiased when I'll describe El Diset. In my opinion it's one of the best place to have a tapas diner and drink various spanish wines. First let's talk about the location. The restaurant is based at few meters only of Centre Cultural i memoria del Born, int he middle of the most animated area in Barcelona : El Born. Let's just say that if you don't follow my hints and don't pay a visit to El Diset, you will find around many places to have other cocktails, other atmospheres, other grooves. Just walk through Carer de la Princessa and you'll probably stop by a place I've already visited. So, let's get back to El Diset. El Diset is a small restaurant in a small street of El Born. Not so easy to stop by it if you don't target it because it's not one of the main street of El Born, but the restaurant is always full and if you want a seat you'd better book before. I would say the place can host 40 to 50 persons. The light is quite filtered and soft. Huge light bubbles will definitely give a very sweet atmosphere to your diner. Well... Let's be honest... People in Barcelona tend to talk loudly so it may not be so sweet and romantic place depending of people around your table. Shelves are filled with bottles and are an invitation to taste them. The food is REALLY amazing and you shouldn't be disappointed whatever tapas you decide to try. You won't find fatty tapas. Expect here to find some well cooked ones, quite originals. My preference definitely go to Ham (you can't avoid ham in Barcelona...), Guacamole, ceviche and (forget your diet) croquetass. Just ask the friendly waiters about the best wines you should have with your selection of tapas. If the menu proposes some couples dish + wine, if you don't go for it then rely on the recommandations of the staff. They really know very well their wines and will sure find the best harmony between tapas and wine. If you want to try red wines i would suggest you Martinet Bru, Teixar (price of this last one can scary, but really the best I've drunk in BCN) or a Durona 100% sumol from Mont Rubi. You will find a good white wine, Testuan, made in catalunya at Cabrils, few kilometers of Barcelona, that will perfectly match with seafood, for instance perfect with salmon or ceviche. In El Diset, including the wine you can have a really really good diner for 30 euros by person if you don't choose too expensive wines. Just book your table and go for it. You really won't regret it. You can book on lower tables, more comfortable at the rear of the restaurant, or hight tables maybe a little more noisy closer of the entrance. PS : restaurant only opened on diner time / Two services.

Great service. Very clean and inviting. Gay and lesbian friendly. Fresh food that is more like Italian crostinis than tapas but truly excellent. Loved the spinach one and the guacamole was shockingly fantastic. French 75s and great and and I had a glass of wine with the big X on it which was good too.

Happened upon Eldiset while exploring the alleys of historic Barcelona. Just wanted a place to sit, relax and hopefully enjoy some food and wine. We enjoyed wonderful tapas together with a great bottle of cava~ this with a great playlist of American soul: Motown music. Not to be missed

One of the best bars in town. Period. Great cocktails and amazing tapas. We were in barcelona for the weekend and we went to this bar to check it out. The bar has a decent selection of cava and wines but the cocktails are amazing. The bartender Rodriguez is great in mixing something up for you - completely customized - based on what you like. We tried a few cocktails - Jamaican mule, margaritas, mojitos and they were all made well! I have to talk about the tapas here as it was amazing - We tried the croquettas and we had had a few all weekend but this one was so good that we went back the next day to eat them again. We also tried the bread with blue cheese, raspberry jam and green apple and bread with spicy chorizo which was great too... lovely place to hang out on a friday/saturday night. Not too noisy - you can have a decent conversation and the music is quite good. Can get a little too busy and crowded over the weekend so good to make a reservation. We had to wait on saturday night for about 45 mins. Im definitely going back here when in barcelona. Highly recommended.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me. La Alcoba Azul is a spot we'll keep on our tapas go to list! You shouldn't hesitate to visit.

It is tight inside, and we were tucked into the back room, but in a cozy way. Service is slow in that classic European way, not sad slow, but the kind of slow that reminds you to savor the moment because you are on vacation. The menu descriptions were a little vague, so we took a few stabs in the dark. The eggplant dish we ordered ended up being my favorite, and the hummus with lamb was also very good. I usually love olives, but these did not hit for me. They were a bit too dry and firm, so buyer beware if you are picky about olives. All in all, a charming spot for a romantic vacation dinner.

The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me.
