It's hard to find outstanding fried chicken. This place is pretty much up there. Sadly it is the only really great thing about this place. If I'm craving good fried chicken. I would definitely come to this place. But if your expecting a good side to go along with that chicken. Well your not going to find it here. The pickles are great but the rest is all pretty much average. And not a lot of variety. I love some jojo potatoes with my chicken so I was a little sad about no potatoes at all. They have fried okra which my husband likes, but not me. I was pleased that the have beer. Nothing fancy but some good bottle choices. We came on a Saturday so it was a bit busy. Wait wasn't long though and food came out quickly. You can order your food before you get seated to speed things up. Atmosphere was family friendly with plenty of seating for small or large groups. Felt a little divey as they have been in the same place for a century. Just don't look at the floor under your table. Servers where friendly and helpful, and quick to serve. Now would I come back, sure. If it's convenient. We did drive a ways to try this place. But I might not make that drive again. Any time someone mentions Eischen's, I've heard nothing but good things. "The best fried chicken in Oklahoma" is the most common praise that I've heard, so I thought it was time to see if it held up. Okarche is about 25 miles northwest of Oklahoma City, if that helps you figure out how long it'll take to get there. If you're planning on going, I'd suggest carpooling. Not only will you save on gas, but you'll also have an easier time finding a parking spot. Eischen's is pretty much always busy. We went on a Wednesday night and found only one parking spot. The chicken is good. Really good. This is easily the juiciest fried chicken I've ever had. Even the breast, which I usually don't care for due to its natural dryness, was super succulent. They give you some bread, pickles (dill and bread and butter), and onions so that you can make your own sandwich. This was easily my favorite part of the meal. I just wish they gave me more pickles and onions. That crap was good! We also got the fried okra, which tasted like fried okra. I'm not that big a fan of fried okra, so I didn't think it was anything special. Even though the chicken is really good, the price is a bit steep. They only take cash, so don't forget to hit up the ATM before you come here. They also have a pool table, so after your meal you can relax by losing a quick game. I like Eischen's. I don't know when I'll be in Okarche again and I probably won't make another trip out there just for the food, but if you happen to be traveling west, there's no reason not to make pit stop. read more

This is my favorite place to get fried chicken. The chief is flash fried at high temp and it seal the outside and the juices are trapped inside. The breading is amazing with the perfect crunch. Don't come wanting much more than chicken though. They have nachos and beef sandwiches, but who wants that? $14.00 for a whole chicken is worth it. (Seriously. It's a fact. Very Hitlerjugend feel about this place.) Again, there's far better fried chicken to be had here in Oklahoma City; that much is painfully indisputable. Hands down they have the best fried chicken in the state of Oklahoma! The chicken was not greasy and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken were hot and juicy. It was served along with some sweet pickles, dill pickles, raw onions, and bread. The sweet pickles were so delicious that we ordered extra. I love and am totally obsessed with fried chicken and Eischen's is the number one spot to get fried chicken, a jug of beer, and other greasy goodness! The drive is a little far but worth every kilometer once you get there, fight the crowd, conquer your seat, and taste victory! Some tips I'd offer is to bring cash. If you forget there is an ATM next door (how convenient!) The menu is quite simple and basically you just have to make sure you order a chicken because you just have to if you're going to be there. Another tip, if you come on a Saturday, expect to wait a minimum of two hours for your seat and your food. I guarantee you won't be disappointed eating here and anyone who gives them less than a perfect rating is out of their mind. There were so many things wrong with the place I dont even know where to begin, but since I have to start somewhere. 1)Place is run down, falling apart, and dirty. 2)The bathrooms are disgusting.The gas station down the street felt more sanitary. 3)They dont take card with no intent to do so, however offer an ATM. Is this the best fried chicken I've ever had? No. Is this chicken freaking amazing though? Yeah!! Perfectly crisp skin and super juicy meat. We also got an order of fried okra, which was equally as amazing. If you don't want to deal with waiting for a table or waiting a long time for food, just don't go at peak times. Simple as that. TEXAS IN THE HOUSE!! Went to go see some on my family in Oklahoma and they decided to take us here. They told us that the chicken was incredible and that it was the oldest bar in Oklahoma. Needless to say we jumped on the opportunity to explore this establishment. It was about an hour drive and I'll say that it was totally worth it. The chicken was definitely one of the crispiest and juiciest that I've ever had. I'm not sure how they cook the chicken but keep doing it because this is a job well done. The menu is very small so they must have perfected what they do best. Winner winner chicken dinner. I have to say the nachos were a little boring, and I was bummed out that they didn't have fresh jalapenos, but nonetheless they were still pretty decent. The ambiance of the restaurant made you feel like you had taken a step back into the olden days. to learn the history of this place was quite exciting and made everything that much better. I paid a visit to this place since it wasn't too far from my hotel in OKC. It's also a Diners Drive ins and dives joint and I am committed to visiting as many of them as I can during my travels. The ride their was cool, I watched the sun set over the prairie unusual for an east coast boy. You arrive in Okarche and its like You went back in time. The place is old! Supposedly the first bar in Oklahoma or the oldest. The menus is simple. Chicken!!! That's pretty much it. Fried Ocra nachos chili Frito Pie. They make a roast beef sandwich but all I saw was fried chicken coming from the pass. You can only order a whole chicken. The place was packed for a Monday night. Chicken everywhere.
