Plaza District, Classen Ten Penn

We ventured out today for lunch after being home bound due to a winter storm that rolled in last…read moreFriday. We decided on The Press in the Plaza District. Good choice! All secondary roads are still snow packed so at 11:30 there was only one other couple in the restrauant. The Press is in an old (1920's ?) repourposed building. The interior is comfortable, charming and a bit whimsical. We started with an order of cheese sticks. They were very good and large. I liked that the cheese sticks did not have Italian seasoning in the breading. Jan ordered the chicken fried ribeye with mashed potatoes, cream gravey and green beans. Jan loved it. I took a bite of the chicken fried steak and it was excellent. The green beans were very good. They were loaded with garlic, which I love, but if you're not a garlic fan, I would suggest another side. I ordered the grilled chicked sandwich with waffle fries. The sandwich was good and the waffle fries were excellent. The portions are large and the food quality excellent. The prices reasonable. The menu has variety. You can't go wrong by dining at The Press.

I've been here twice and each time leaves me looking forward to my next visit. Adriana was our server last time and did an amazing job. Quick to keep our coffees topped off and full of information about the food items I was considering. I had the Big Boi Burrito, and it was very filling and yummy. My friends chose the Press Cobb and Breakfast Bomb. They were both very pleased and stated there was many options on the menu they would be interested in trying.
