The dichotomy of two different experiences: I stopped in this week for a breakfast sandwich with my daughter. I was greeted with a friendly smile and a "how are you" by a nice young man. Then, when time to order a very harsh and rude cashier lady. She rolled her eyes at my little girl as she tried to order. Now I'll spend the rest of my day explaining to my daughter that some people are not meant to be in the service industry. Great bagel though! read more

I've always loved their bagels. It's been here for decades. They have a huge variety and personally the everything bagle with plain cream cheese is my favorite. Also I don't know what it is about an egg sandwich on a bagel (everything of course) but I think that makes the best breakfast sandwiches. The employees are also very friendly. I don't know all their names but Allen has always been great to me and the person at the register (Zach I think?) was also very friendly and seemed to genuinely care and enjoy his job. I ended up at this location because, even though I'm not a vegan, my friend who is said I had to try the trial vegan cream cheese while they had it (Kite Hill). I'm SO glad I did! It's super creamy and delicious, I couldn't stop eating it!! (Plus it's super low calorie next to normal cream cheese if you're into that). I had to stop at this Einstein while I was visiting STL. While we have Einstein's in Columbus, this location was always very welcoming and warm whenever I stopped by when I lived in STL. Today was no exception. When I walked in, the woman at the order section was truly a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. (I wanted to fill out a survey to recognize her exceptional customer service, but couldn't find a receipt code, which was upsetting to me.) She asked if I would like to try a sample of the new sandwich they are coming out with on the 26th, and I will tell you it was quite delicious! I ordered a honey whole wheat toasted bagel with plain Schmeer and a medium vanilla hazelnut coffee (yum!), and both were quite tasty. I know Einstein's bagels never let me down, but it's the customer service here and the friendly atmosphere that makes the trip worth it for me. I like Einstein. I started visiting this location when mine was shut down in CWE. The first time I went there, everything worked out properly, no issues. And the second time was the last time that I will ever go there. I walked in to pick up my order. A young woman comes over as I pick up my order and yells at me. This young lady is deaf. I knew she was deaf because I work with and around as well as having friends who are deaf. She was irritated or frustrated which I could tell but the way that she yelled at me completely embarrassed me and others turned to look. She yelled: Is that yours?! I'm black. Probably not something to yell at a black person during times of racial sensitivity. What I took from what came out of her mouth was: are you stealing or is that actually yours. Well, this stuff has a difficult black name on it that I am certain was bestowed on me at birth, I ordered it, and I have already paid for it so I'm certain it's mine but now I want a refund. But I also wanted my breakfast. So I decide to talk the manager later. Manager doesn't listen to a single word but acknowledges that people regularly complain about her without realizing she is deaf. Perhaps she shouldn't directly interact with customers then (by the way, yelling is not a general form of communication of the deaf). She was irritable and I just so happened to walk in. Again, perhaps she shouldn't interact directly with customers. Since the manager had no interest in listening, I won't be back. If my Einstein doesn't open back up, I just won't use the brand. read more

The staff was very friendly and welcoming even that early in the day. My bagels were prepared quickly and toasted well. They directed me to how to order and pay at the other register. I just got back from buying a six pack of bagels. The onion bagels were all upside down in the case and so I specifically asked if there were any seeds on the onion bagels. She said "No, just onions." I got here, took them out of the bag and found sesame seeds, which I can't eat. This is one of those Einstein Bagel's I only remember is here once I stop by Schnuck's for groceries. It's a great location, easy access for parking, and they always have the best service. Their coffee drinks are incredible too. However, I'd only recommend them if you really like sugary/creamy flavored coffee. My last experience here wasn't good and the place was in disarray but today it was much better. I always forget this place is here. But a buy-one-get-one lunch sandwich coupon brought me back. I must say, the food was all much better than I had expected. I got a Tasty Turkey ($6.50) on a bagel, it had turkey, tomatoes, cukes, sprouts and some tasty spread. It was well-constructed and quite delicious. Being a fan of Cuban sandwiches, I went for the Cuban Chicken panini ($7.65) -- two cheeses (mozz & gruyere), chicken breast, ham, mustard, pickles. I was shocked on my first bite how much it tasted like a real Cuban sandwich (typically made with pork). They really got the flavors down and the panini was nicely put together and easy to eat. Both sandwiches came with a side. I got chips for one and potato salad for another. I'm really not a potato salad person but this thing kicked ass. Just tasted fresh and flavorful, not too creamy, good chunks of potato. I recommend it to be eaten cold. People who worked here were nice. All in all an above-average experience. NOTE TO EINSTEIN BROS. BAGELS: Good Morning, This morning I picked up an online purchase of a "Two Dozen with Schmear Combo". The box was all ready to go. I signed for it and was on my way. When I arrived at school, I noticed that the cream cheese (the schmear), was not put in the box. When I called the store, I spoke the manager, LeRon. I mentioned that the cream cheese was accidentally left out. He then started a rehearsed line of "okay what you do is...", and after he finished he seamless went into talking to a customer at the same volume he was talking to me. I then asked him to repeat because I didn't understand with him talking to people in the background and really needed the cream cheese for the bagels. He explained again. I brought to his attention that he was the store manager and I had been on the phone with him for three minutes and he had not even apologized for my order. He ignored this and said, "there was nothing we can do now", while LeRon took someone's coffee order and talked over me. I mentioned to him that omitting the cream cheese had ruined the bagels for an important meeting and he (absently) raised his voice and said, "yes, OKAY, thanks." AND HUNG UP! This is the most disgusting display of non-customer service I have experienced in my entire life. Forgetting the cream cheese is a mistake. All of us make mistakes. I do understand that. But to take a call and not only NOT apologize...but not listen to the caller's questions and then HANG UP?? Deciding to patronize Einstein Bros. is a conscience decision. There a few other bagel joints and all of them are cheaper. You (Einstein) have a better product. Now...this LeRon is a manager? Not only should he not work counter...he should never deal with the public at large. He has no customer service skills let alone people skills. Really like the gourmet bagels, the breakfast sandwiches are delicious, and the unique shmears are tasty. My wife and I like to go on weekends as a bit of a breakfast ritual. The service is usually below average. We have been in line before with no one else in line and have waited for a significant amount of time before being acknowledged. The staff can be inattentive. Even after ordering, the service is usually relatively slow (even when only getting two bagels and a shmear). We will probably try another location because we love the food. read more

I LOVE BREAD. I LOVE CARBS. I LOVE BAGELS......... I LOVE EINSTEIN'S. Décor: It's low-key, very clean and casual. It's a place where people got their newspaper up and old friends are chatting. It's not as cozy or stylistic as Panera (Which is across the street), but it's comfortable. Service: You order first and then they make your food and you pay up at the end. Never have I encountered bad service, so yay for them! Food: I seriously fell in love with bagels because of Einsteins. I think they have better bagels than Panera's and Companion's because it's chewier, softer and just.. all-around-better-to-eat! The bf is a big fan of their Lox bagel sandwich and I've had their bagel sandwiches before (never fails me!), but my favorite thing to get is toasted Cranberry Bagels (ahhhhh).
