Outstanding food, but a little overpriced for what you get. I had the lox on an everything bagel, obviously. My wife had the breakfast sandwich, and my kids had the seasonal strawberry crunch bagel with cream cheese and a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. Really this should be 4.5 or 4.75 ha because it was very good, but just a bit pricey for what you get. I loved the atmosphere, it reminded me of the breakfast spots we go to when we are on vacation in a small beach town, solid vibes.

Small bagel shop. Not much seating if you want to eat in. Largest variety of bagels I have seen. So many different flavor options. Ordered sandwiches & some bagels to take home & the bagels were still warm. Ordered delox & becy. Both were tasty. Many schmear options offered. Water & coffee station at the shop. Service was fast. They were pretty business-matter of fact. Filled the order & handed to you when called out your name on the order.

My husband and I were craving bagel sandwiches last week, and decided upon Bagel Union! And man, absolutely loved the vibes walking in. Everyone was saying hi, I was saying hi to everyone - just cool vibes lol There's limited seating side, just a few tables and a bar with chairs. The crew was VERY NICE and saw on our faces the big decisions we had to make. Ultimately, we ordered two bagel sandwiches and and a half dozen bagels to go. BEC-y and a Jambon-beurre for the sandwiches- ABSOLUTELY delicious Half dozen: Everynickle, Tzitzelnickle, blueberry, salt, cinnamon raisin, and week. The only regret was not ordering any spreads but we always have next time!

I normally stop in on off-peak hours so coming in on a Saturday morning before expected snow was a different experience! I just tagged along on my daughter's order and got an everynickel. An everything pumpernickel bagel. She got 5 bagels and some schmear. Even though the place was packed we were served quickly and or order came out quick. If I hadn't just eaten breakfast, I probably would have ordered a bagel sandwich, they are always good. Lots of bagels, lots of workers, place was super clean. Loved the everything pumpernickel bagel, was so good by itself an also with plain cream cheese. If I want a bagel, this is where I end up.

Bagel Union is a MUST for bagel lovers. Their bagel sandwiches are always on point. Pro-tip: get open faced for extra goodness on top! My favs: Delox, Cherry Crunch Bagel, Everything Bagel

Great bagels! I'm always down for a lox bagel! The ingredients tasted fresh and I can't wait to go back to try more bagel flavors! I got the delox on an onion bagel closed! It was definitely busy on a weekend, so a lot of items were sold out (all for good reason)! The staff were nice and patient, as it was my first time ordering there! Not much seating inside or outside (inside: two tables and a bar facing the window with about 6 seats) (outside: few tables with 2-3 seats each table). There is a small lot to park in at the corner (right next to them), otherwise there is street parking and there's also more parking behind the strip (a parking lot)!

Honestly, not impressed. I've seen so many posts online about Bagel Union, so my Mom and I swung by while in the area. There's barely any tables inside and outside, and the seating is hard as a rock. Additionally, the parking situation is horrific. Their parking lot is on the corner of a very busy intersection. The service wasn't very friendly. They seemed overworked and cranky. We ordered 2 bagels, a Chicken Salad Bagel and the Delox Bagel. Both bagels were mediocre. The quality of the chicken salad and lox were fine but neither of us enjoyed the bagels very much. They were overly salty and extremely chewy! We would NOT come back. Cute place, poor service and below-quality bagels.

Amazing fresh bagels. Bagel sandwiches 10/10. Pretty quick service even though it's busy. Super cute inside but not a lot of tables or seats. Also minimal parking spots outside. Overall, will definitely be back and would definitely recommend. Probably the best bagel I've had in stl!

First time coming here and was not disappointed! Went on a Sunday morning so it suddenly became packed, which was a tad anxiety-inducing with the separate counters for ordering and paying, taking a number etc. I'm not one to judge, though, because it seems to work pretty perfectly. I got the classic bec-y to see how it fared. So delicious-- the bread really makes a difference-- and I really enjoyed their coffee too. Everything came out very quick and the service was super pleasant. Already can't wait to come back.

This place is still one of my favorites for bagels. I got the bec-y which was so good and my friend got the smoke trout. We got some bagels to go this time and some of their delicious spreads. The luxardo cherry cream cheese is so good, I recommend trying it!

This is a really good bagel spot! Came here with some friends and we tried a couple. The inside has some limited seating. The service was really good. My favorite was the breakfast bagel sandwich. I did try the turkey sandwich one but I thought the turkey meat was kind of dry. But the bagel with the roast beef was killer!! Don't forget to get the honey pecan spread I loved it!

You cannot pass this place up. Im a total snob when it comes to food and this place is top notch. Hands down the best bagel I've ever had. I'm not a huge fan of St. Louis but I honestly might make a trip back just for this bagel. The iggy was incredible. Spicer than I anticipated but that's no problem for me! My partner substituted spinach artichoke cream cheese on and was a huge fan. Cute vibe and friendly staff.

If you have never heard Winston's Bagels, let me introduce you...Foodie, meet Winston. Winston,…read moremeet foodie. You can now fall in love. Winston's Bagels are LEGENDARY in Carbondale, IL. The genius behind the tasty treat is Winston. He's a hippy 60(?) something man with a food cart who, in my day set up his mobile shop on "The Strip" - Carbondale's main bar scene. I hear he's moved onto Grand now, but wherever he is, YOU NEED TO BE THERE TOO. Here's the scoop... Winston comes out at night, just about the time the college kids are bar hopping. He sets up his small mobile cart, and starts cranking out The. Best. Bagel. Treat. You. Will. Ever. Eat. Winston grills the bagels over charcoal, which gives the bread a traditional char taste and creates this fantastic crunch when you bite into it. He drizzles the bagel with margarine (I think it's Parkay from the yellow and blue squeeze bottle), and generously tops each bagel side with plain cream cheese. Then the magic happens. You choose your toppings. I'm partial to the Everything: apple, cinnamon, sunflower seeds, cucumber, red onion, garlic powder, bacon bits, and raisins. It's the perfect morsel to have when you're out drinking in Carbondale - every college student learns this lesson to perfection at SIUC - or even if you just have a late night craving for a sweet / savory treat. Of course as alumni (Class of '95!), we all crave a Winston Bagel now and then, and when we go back it's a must eat treat! I've tried to make them at home, but it's just not the same. It's missing Winston's je nais se quoi. He generously doles out hugs, stories, jokes, and charm along with his bagels. Plus the man is a total genius. He charges $2.25 for a bagel. That fits any pocket book - and more often than not - you give him three dollars and tell him to keep the change. The man is making some dough. I hear he takes a couple vacations a year just with his tip money. Go fall in love with Winston The Bagel Man. He'll be there in Carbondale grilling his bagels into the wee hours of the morning!

A few of the employees -- people perhaps in their early 20s who did not appear to take their jobs as seriously as the cashier -- were engaged in a private conversation behind the counter. The cashier and customers had to wait a moment to get their attention about a menu item that had been discontinued, though the online menu we found had not been updated. We had a group of 8 people. We sat upstairs. I wasn't all over the setup of the space. Perhaps half of the seating is upstairs and the stairs have a bend/turn. The person bussing lost control of the tray. From what I could see, in her attempt to regain control of the tray, she fell and broke something or some glass cut her and she was bleeding quite a lot before she left for treatment. I think smaller trays may be in order, or a dumbwaiter, or perhaps an employee with better upper body control could do this task. Between that and a comment said by one of the waitstaff that I prefer not to repeat, I am hoping I caught them on an "off" day. We need more businesses like this one. The food was good, too, so I will return.

Thankfully, they had all hands on deck so there was minimal time spent waiting. The woman who took my order was kind and patient as I struggled to select which kind of bread I wanted from their plethora of options. Although I came in undecided between a sandwich and one of their pastries, I opted for the former and a chocolate chip cookie. After waiting all of five minutes, my name was called and I was on my way. While the presentation of the sandwich wasn't the most appealing it def made up for it in taste. The egg was whole but cooked to perfection. Although I asked for cheddar, I was given white cheddar instead, which I was surprised because this was not told to me when I ordered. The sandwich was good, but I'll need to choose a different bread next time since it was quite mushy. The cookie was good and something I'd compare to tollhouse. It was incredibly soft but again, I was thrown off by the semisweet, almost dark chocolate chips. Nevertheless, it was still good and I'd get it again. Overall, this place reminds me of a Des Peres version of La Bonne Bouche. It's got ample seating, tons of pastries, and other cafe items. I'll def return.
