Einstein is my place when I'm craving a bagel. The location is a very convenient walk from my house and I've been coming here for years. Love the outdoor patio and the diner style interior. This is counter service and the food comes out in a reasonable time. I paid for 2 bacon egg and cheese and only got bacon on one of them. The employees at the Greentree PA location are rude, ignorant, and nasty. I called and asked them to add mayonnaise to my sandwich and she said it would cost extra but I can give you some mayonnaise packets for free which doesn't make any sense. So the store buys mayonnaise packets and gives them for free, but I can't get mayonnaise put on my sandwich that they have on the expo line? I will never order from this location again. The portion was small. Hardly any cheese. Didn't taste fresh. From now on I will buy everything myself and make it at home. Save your money folks. Don't support a business that isn't accommodating to their customers and that are just there for a paycheck. Everyone is lazy, and no one takes pride in their work anymore, and that's a disgrace. They have really gone down hill quality wise, while their prices have gone up. I used to come here at least once a week and now maybe once or twice a year.. Spinach bagel with cream cheese and a small iced coffee drink and it was over $13.00. The cream cheese (chive) was some type of whipped formula that was rather bland, and was like eating uh sweetened Cool Whip. My favorite bagel is no longer made (pesto) and they were out of 3 varieties at 10:00 am. They no longer have potato salad as an option and their bakery products are almost non existent compared to what they once had. Really a shame to lose a place I once enjoyed going to. These guys are awesome. Seriously. There's no better way to say it! They're friendly and wonderfully efficient. When one employee is taking your order, one or two others are already getting started on it so that you can get it as quickly as possible. They're one of the main reasons why I keep coming back here. They do great with the food too! I usually get a hot chocolate in the morning (super mature, I know), and they always make it nice and rich. They don't skimp! Even the toasted bagels are given a nice thick topping of shmear. It's fun enjoying these goodies in the neat, tidy dining area. A sad bagel sandwich tale. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. We were the only customers there and the two behind the counter working were pretty distracted with each other. It was a super young man and woman. This was only my second time at an Einstein Bros. and most likely my last. My partner and I each got a sandwich. There was a lot of miscommunication and both sandwiches turned out to be wrong. Mine was still wrong after getting it remade, but I just ate it. The worst was the sandwich itself, aside from it's wrong items. Good grief. Look at it? The egg whites aren't even a patty. It was put together horribly sloppy, one side of the bagel wasn't cut through and it was completely cold. All I did was walk it from the store into the car. I've gotten more appetizing breakfast sandwiches at gas stations. (Oh, and that's supposed to be a thin bagel, but as you can see, it is not.) I'm giving it 2, instead of 1, stars because stuff seemed rather fresh, but it was such an unsatisfying experience. And no one even apologized for the issue, which for me, is an automatic thumbs down. We all make mistakes but how it's handled can make all the difference. read more

2/26/21- Picked up breakfast here yesterday- a Farmhouse for me and a Ham, Cheddar & Egg on a Toasted Pretzel bagel for my wife and OMG was mine DELICIOUS. Fresh, tasty, chewy... Mmmm. Steven is usually on the register and another young guy preppin the food are always super friendly & nice. Either they're being appreciated by the manager/owner, just naturally always upbeat & friendly or maybe they're hopped up on Einstein coffee... but if I owned a restaurant- you bet I'd try to poach these guys to work for me. Serving isn't for everyone but these guys are great. I also spotted the Specialty Bagels and had to buy 3 of them- the jalapeño & cheddar was delicious toasted w some cc this morning. No drive through, but plenty of parking and very quick service. I ordered two dozen bagels with multiple spreads and everyone was very happy with them. If you haven't had Einstein Bros. Bagels, they are SUPER dense, I would say twice the weight and size as a normal bagel you would purchase at the grocery store. This location is a-ok. The dining area &a bathroom were "meh" in terms of cleanliness and staff was barely polite. That said I had a egg white/turkey sausage/green chile sandwich that was honestly delicious. And I appreciate that you can skinny your bagel since normal ones are just too bready. read more

I would give the chorizo sunrise 3 stars and the farmhouse sandwich 4.5 so I'm rating the overall order 4 stars. I was a little surprised to see the rating so low at only 2.5 stars. The bagels are good. I stopped in here for lunch and we were served quickly. The veg out was tasty, perhaps could have used a little more flavor but I enjoyed it. The avocado toast was also very flavorful avocado was fresh. I'd get both again. The girl working the counter did not know the answer when I asked if they had decaf iced tea. However, I have low expectations for that sort of thing when coming to places such as this. Not sure about that cleanliness of the bathrooms. Would certainly come back and would try other locations as well. read more

Even though it's a bagel shop, they have the best potato salad and my only complaint about it is that they're serving sizes are too small. There is one employee that stands out above the rest... she really knows her stuff and is very friendly and informative. The other employees seem as though they're just high school students working to get a paycheck minus the "working" part. Either way I've never been disappointed with the food, the bagels and sandwiches are delicious. I always order the veggie bagel which has hummus and such on it, so it's great if you want something vegetarian. Their iced coffees are good as well. Today was my first visit ever to an EB franchise, Kay demanding we stop immediately when she saw one on Greentree Road so she could take a baker's dozen back to Beaver Falls. Having been gastronomically traumatized as a child by bagels (I bit into one thinking it was a donut one fateful elementary school morning), I have never been a huge, huge fan, BUT the ones that emerge from Einstein Brothers' ovens are pretty acceptable, partcularly when some smoked salmon cream cheese "shmear' is applied onto them liberally. After sampling a few of them for a mid-afternoon snack, I found that I prefer the potato bagels more than the others. EB also makes an above average chocolate chip cookie and an even better Mudslide Cookie. And I dig their electric bagel slicer. They pop 'em in and *shoom*shoom* out come perfectly halved bagels. I am always in Heaven when I go to Ithaca New York, after all, they have Ithaca Bakery there. Listen when I tell you, go to their website and request, demand, beg, do anything you can to get them to open one here in Pittsburgh! Seriously, the whole wheat Long Island bagels are pretty damn fine. Boiled, then baked a little darker than most bagels, then doused with garlic and onion, poppy and sesame seeds. Incredibly delicious! They're California Granola bagels are whole grain and hearty. The Italian bagels are like a mini loaf of Italian bread, covered in oregano, basil, rosemary, and garlic, they put olive oil in the raw dough, bellisimo! Okay, 359 miles southwest we have Pittsburgh with no visible sign of a decent bagel place, well that's not entirely true, Einstein Brothers has a good bagel, not a great bagel. Where Ithaca Bakery has 9 different vegetarian sandwiches, good luck trying to find anything like that here. When I did enjoy meats, my choice here was the Nova Lox with a shmear, tomato, onion on a whole wheat bagel. Not exactly a low cal meal, later I found out it had a whopping 700 calories and over 20 grams of fat. Even with the lite cream cheese this had 600 calories and 12 grams of fat. Now I have a whole grain bagel with hummus. I will say their pretzel bagels are rather good, nice crust and crunch from salt, a chewy center and makes an awesome pizza bagel. Their bagels are pretty expensive, a baker's dozen and a container of cream cheese is over 14 bucks. In a town with a pizza joint on every corner, and an Italian restaurant in every community, you'd think someone would open an authentic bagel place with unique flavors and varieties. read more

Einstein's bagels are very great but the service is here is abysmal at best. We ordered a half dozen unsliced bagels to go and waited 15 minutes. Last I checked it's not that difficult to put bagels in a bag. The staff seem like a group of miserable teenagers. No smiles, and barely any eye contact. My advice to the staff, I'd be happy to tip for excellent service. A smile and some pleasantries do go a long way. read more

Easter Sunday, 2015 Store is open until 2:00. I arrive at 12:30. Employee is feverishly sweeping at carpet in front of counter in presence of customers seated and eating. Dust is flying everywhere. Customers' eyes are rolling. I tell counter person. She asks employee to scale back. He refuses. Only two types of bagels are left even though the store is to remain open for another 1-1/2 hours. I get a cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese (it was good) and a medium coffee. I go to get the vanilla hazelnut coffee and manage to get a half cup before the dispenser is entry. I say something to clerk. She tells me to get regular coffee and she will put hazelnut syrup in it. WHAT??? She never offered to brew new coffee even though the store is to remain open for another 1-1/2 hour. Never again will I go to this location. read more

Great bagels, sandwiches, soup, and coffee! My favorites are the veg-out bagel sandwich, the bagel dog on onion, and their sour cream potato salad is so good too. If you like all beef hotdogs, you should try the bagel dog. They wrap bagel around the dog. When they heat it up, the juice soaks into that chewy bagel and it is heaven. Mmm. read more

First time I ordered smoked salmon on puppysead bagel with cream cheese tomatoes capers they gave me honey salmon sweet disgusting and charged for a side which I didn't ask for , so after I looked at receipt I was like what the hell is the side?! So then they give me chips... Which I don't really need. Today I gave them 2 chance. Same order. Guess what I got? Puppysead bagel with SALMON SPREAD!!!! For real, wasting money for wrong order!!!! I went to Einsteins today for lunch for the first time since my office moved to Green Tree. I ordered the Italian Chicken Hot Bagel. It was perfect for lunch. The plain bagel was toasted perfectly. It had chopped up chicken breast, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, pesto sauce, spinach, and red peppers. It came with a pickle which was great and chips. I really enjoyed my lunch. I think it is a little expensive for what you get, but pretty good none the less. I'm sure I'll continue to go here for lunch. read more
