Online ordering off during store hours
Ayesha L.

Needed to order bagels for a meeting. Wanted to choose bagels since wanted to have a good variety. Went into this location because it would not allow the order needed to be created online as online ordering was off during store hours. Employees were rude and passive aggressive and actually had a discussion with each other about how the order that was placed and paid for couldn't be custom. Proceeded to throw bagels in box and continued to complain about the order loudly. A Bakers Dozen is on their menu and a customer should not feel like they are inconveniencing restaurant staff for trying to order menu items! 0/5 out of stars would not recommend this location.

This is a regular breakfast spot for me. The food is consistently good, the staff is friendly, the food always comes out quickly and the restaurant clean.

Not many tables almost out of bagels

Slow! Took 40 min! To get my order, which was a avocado, bacon, egg sandwich so I understand people are waiting much longer than me! Not sure if it's organization or their ordering process but they need to fix it if they want to stay in business! Although I know they've been here a long time I've not seen him this slow! There's not enough tables to really sit and enjoy a bagel as they had before. Maybe it's set up to be just an order ahead, pick up and leave type of restaurant??

Turkey-Sausage & Cheddar Egg Sandwich

Worst Einstein's I've ever been to. The workers don't seem to care about whether your bagel actually tastes okay. The sausage was pretty green, the egg tasted horrible, the bagel itself was poorly made. They made it twice because the first bagel was made incorrectly and then almost set on fire in the toaster.

Growing up in New York City I didn't strategize about where I'd buy bagels. A) I like bagels but I never loooooooved them, and B) in NY most every bagel place tasted pretty much the same to me. Except in Monticello! So I move to Marietta GA and eww ... I've had some real clunkers. With my daughter and her new boyfriend coming home for the weekend, I wanted something decent. The best bagel I've had here is from Einstein's, so we schlepped to Smyrna to buy a dozen. (They give you a bakers dozen. Nice! Also a 10% discount if you're over sixty.) During COVID, the staff was masked as were the few patrons in the shop. People were respectful of social distancing. Normally I tell the person by the bagel bins what I want, and watch the bagels being pulled. I don't know if this is a pandemic measure or if the shop normally operates like this; you place your order with the cashier, and voila -- the bagels almost instantaneously appear boxed up. "Do you want them sliced?" the nice gal at the register asked when I placed the order. "Nope." Well don't you think when I got home, I saw that four were pre-sliced. (It compromises freshness.) And they gave me two garlic bagels. I didn't order garlic!!! So yeah, the bagels are okay. Again, better than other places. (I had one of the garlics for lunch.) But they don't hold a candle to Monticello!

I have been a regular customer of this Einstein Bagels location for the past two years, as it is the one most local to me. Unfortunately, it is the most frustrating Einstein Bagels location I have ever visited. My daughter eats a bagel almost every morning, so I pick up bagels just about every other week. I generally order a baker's dozen of plain bagels, sliced. Pretty easy, right? Not so much. Sometimes I get 12, sometimes 13. Sometimes they're sliced, sometimes not. Then there's the guy at the register who always seems confused. Oh, and heaven help me if I try to order two dozen bagels on a Monday with my app discount. Even though he's been there probably close to a year now, he still hasn't been able to figure this one out! Another thing about this location is the inconsistency of the bagels. Sometimes they are big, fluffy, and gorgeous, and other times they are small, dense and just not all that good. I'm talking a huge difference. When I bring them home I put the bagels into gallon ziplock bags. When they are big and fluffy, I can just barely zip the bag with 6 in there. When they are the dense hockey pucks I can easily fit 8 with room to spare. I wish this location would get their act together with their product and get their employees trained so they weren't so confused at the register, and inconsistent in getting the orders correct.

Stopped for a quick bagel. Counter folks were nice. Service quick. Bagel was really not to our liking. Out of the ordinary from historical experience at Einstein locations. We ordered a whole wheat bagel toasted that arrived warm and tough. Ordered an apple cinnamon bagel toasted and arrived not toasted. Dining area was limited in seating due Covid precautions. The available seating needed to be cleaned and the dining area swept. Our last stop at this location.

The food was excellent, the drinks were on point, and our waitress did an awesome job handling such a large party. She stayed on top of everything and made sure we were taken care of all night. After dinner, we decided to check out the speakeasy through the freezer door--Eleanor's--and unfortunately, that's where the experience took a turn. The atmosphere itself was nice--semi-dark with a cool concept--but it could definitely lean more into a darker, more immersive speakeasy vibe. The bigger issue, though, was the service. It was night and day compared to upstairs. The waitress came across as rude and unwelcoming from the start. A few of us sat down in a small corner area with an L-shaped bench and some extra chairs we had to pull over ourselves. Obviously, with 12 people, there was no way we were all fitting there, yet she insisted she wouldn't take any drink orders until everyone was seated. That made no sense, especially since there was standing room and even a bar-height table available. To make matters worse, there was zero acknowledgment of the birthday--not even a simple "happy birthday," which felt like a missed opportunity given the occasion. When we asked about Fireball shots, the response was a blunt "um, no," followed by "you can have water," as she started filling glasses. That pretty much summed up the vibe we got. Not sure if this is typical service down there or just an off night, but it was enough to make us decide we wouldn't come back to the speakeasy. Bottom line: If you're in the area, definitely check out Muss & Turner's for dinner--it's worth it. But I'd skip Eleanor's and save your time and money.

The food, the service, the ambiance are all fantastic. I was torn between shawarma and lamb shank - the staff recommended the lamb shank, which I'm happy about. It was fall off the bone tender. They could have gone heavier on the spices but they give you sauce (tahini and garlic mayo-ish). The bread was amazing too... fresh, fluffy and warm. The food came out super quick. There's plenty of seating - it's a large space with many booths and tables. The decor is lovely. I wish they were playing some Arabic music to round off the experience. There's ample parking in the lot. If you're wondering if the restaurant is Palestinian - it is. I asked the staff lol. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu before I leave Marietta.

Unfortunately, there aren't enough fast food joints with a focus on fresh salads but lucky for me, Doc Green's was right on my pathway for the day. Located in a huge plaza in Smyrna, Doc Green's is a salad lovers dream. I can't believe this was my first visit! The restaurant itself is narrow but long, offering plenty of seating in the back of the place, as well as the entryway. Doc Green's is actually paired with another restaurant it seems, but I was focused on the salad. They have some recommended combos but you can also create your own with a wide array of toppings. I was in heaven looking at all of the fresh veggies, proteins and dressings available. I decided to create my own and just went wild. I was super bummed because I ended up forgetting some favorites (like avocado) because I didn't see/notice them on the cold bar. I chose my dressings, had it mixed up and then checked out. I opted for a fountain drink and unfortunately, the lemonade was toooooo sweet. But that was the only downside because my salad was wonderful!! Everything was fresh, the portions were generous and I felt like I got my money's worth. I'm always in the Akers Mill plaza buying things I don't need so I can't wait to grab another salad at Doc Green's when I'm in the neighborhood!
