I'm biased because I work here part time, but even if I didn't, I would highly recommend the downtown Eileen Fisher. Here are my reasons:
Location: It's right across the street from the downtown Nordstrom and Westlake station. You can lightrail or bus from almost anywhere and it will drop you off at EF's front door. It's alive and active, just a block away from Westlake Center and kitty corner to Pacific Place. There are parking garages near by (not recommended if you're going to be downtown for more than a few hours because $$, but if you're shopping at EF, maybe that's not an issue - there's also street parking which is cheaper).
Service: I was bummed to read D K.'s review because even before I started working at EF, I was struck by how kind everyone was and how well they served their customers and each other. Everyone has their off days, but for the most part, all the sales associates genuinely care about their customers and want to give them the best experience possible when they're in the store. From saying, "hello" and "thank you for stopping by," to pulling outfits, giving customers' dogs treats, getting water for patient husbands, to handwriting little love notes after a meaningful conversation, the EF ladies are a really quality group. If you want to be known, served, and remembered, stop by the store a couple times and say hi.
Great for Out of Towners: If you don't live by an EF store, or if you do but you're in town visiting, this is the place to go. You can try on clothes till you're heart's content, and once you're ready, EF will ship your purchase to your home for free if you desire. There are also seasonal planners that you can ask for to get a month by month look at all the clothes that will come in. If you want, you can ask for a call once your favorite products come out and the store will ship it to you. The downtown store specifically has customers living in Georgia, Montana, etc. that will call to purchase specific items or be called when something arrives that they might like. Don't feel like you can't be treated like a regular even if you live far away.
Timeless Fashion: You won't find trendy clothes at EF. That being said, what you buy here will last you for ages. A lot of our customers have come in wearing pieces they have had for 5-10 years and it still looks beautiful and relevant. That's one of the things I love about EF, you don't have to worry if what you're wearing is in or not because it never goes out of style. Like it says on the website, "Here Today, Here Tomorrow."
Green Eileen Recycle Rewards Program: No matter how worn and torn your clothes are, when you're ready to toss them, you can bring them back to the store and participate in Green Eileen. EF will give you a $5 gift card for every piece you donate, no questions asked. That's a pretty good deal, considering most second hand stores are very picky about the pieces they take and half of them won't give you anything anyways.
Shop for Good: Currently, a message that EF has been speaking is, "Your Choice Has Power." And it's true, as consumers, we have the power to help good businesses thrive and influence not as great ones to change for the better. This is one of the main reasons why I started working at Eileen Fisher in the first place. The company itself is sustainable, ethical, people centric, and quality oriented. EF supports women young and old who are looking to be leaders; they donate to help anything from climate change to human trafficking. They are working towards a fully sustainable supply chain, using organic fabrics and helping the farmers and factories they work with grow and change. There are so many more things that I don't know about, but every time I go on the website or talk with the store manager, I find out more and more that makes my respect for the company grow.
Essentially, Eileen Fisher the company, and Eileen Fisher the store are both great and you should visit us downtown :) read more
