This spot is good! I went here with my boyfriend and I ordered the two eggs any style overeasy with bacon and a side of gluten free toast (which was really good for gluten free!) My boyfriend got a skillet which was super yummy as well. The coffee was also good and organic which is always nice and it was strong which I personally like. I also asked for a side of avocado with my meal and they gave me more then enough which was fantastic because most places will only give you two tiny slices. The only thing I have to complain about is that there was no soap in the ladies bathroom which during a time like COVID I would suggest they should be a little more on top of refilling the soap dispenser. Other than that, no complaints. If you're looking for a place to go with family or friends that's casual, this is for you! I'll also add that they are BYOB which is always nice. read more

My family and I came here for a quick brunch. The service was really nice but the food was underwhelming. I ordered eggs benedict with fruit. However, the omelette I ordered was bland, dry, and fluffy- not my type of texture and felt like it was missing seasoning. The hash browns were average. And the bite of oatmeal I tried from my friend was missing the right kick, such as cinnamon. All in all, great place to go with friends, but would not recommend the omelette. Came by for breakfast recently and ordered a standard omelet plate. They give you a pretty good sized portion of hash browns. The omelets are alright in size and definitely good in quality (plus having the option to craft your own is a plus). They leave you a carafe of coffee with your filled-up cup when you ask for coffee. They leave the toast/pancake/muffin plain and let you decide what to spread on it. The staff are friendly and the location (being new, granted) is exceptionally clean, with a spacious layout helping that. The price is a tad thick, and yeah I wish the omelet was a *little* bigger, but overall I'm not disappointed with this place as a brunch spot. I'm sure some neighbors may hold it against this place that they're replacing the long time, recently departed Melrose Restaurant. But honestly this isn't a bad brunch spot, and I'd probably come back. read more

This is certainly our neighborhood favorite! We love sitting outside in the summer and enjoying our breakfast on the patio. They allow you to have your dog outside, which is a plus for us! The menu is HUGE! I always order a fresh juice - strawberry orange is amazing. The food is always hot and great - the portions are large. Aside from that, the service rocks. Beware of the "Freshly Squeezed" juice menu. I ordered a mango juice, and witnessed the waiter pour it directly from a store bought box. I nicely asked why it is advertised as "freshly squeezed" when clearly it is not. He kindly offered to take it away and get me something else. As soon as he turned around, he muttered under his breath sarcastically "can't really squeeze a mango, but okay..." Obviously I know you don't "squeeze" a mango, but of course it is possible to make fresh mango juice...particularly when it is advertised as such AND you are charging $4.99 per glass, same as the freshly squeezed orange juice. read more

Honestly I've never been so sad about an omelette. The protein omelette had chicken, salsa, cheese, and avocado -- which you would think would be Fool-proof and delicious! Right? Wrong. I was so disappointed eating the somehow flavorless, fluffy, egg concoction. It was the equivalent of watching a PBS documentary; like I know I should be engaged and super into it but it was boring I simply wasn't, and it was depressing. Service was good. Wow. Honestly, when Eggsperience moved in right down the street from me, I was skeptical. I'm not a huge chain restaurant person, and knowing there were multiple locations I figured it would be just a mediocre breakfast place I might try once. I WAS SO WRONG!!! My partner Daniel and I LOVE this place. So much. We went one Saturday on a whim and were just blown away. The food is solid, with huge portions that will last you another meal. Since going, we've gotten the protein omelette, the chocolate waffle, the greek waffle, the corn beef hash skillet, the french toast waffle, the denver omelette, and the chorizo omelette. Daniel liked the hash skillet so much he ordered it again when we went this past Friday. I feel like talking too much about the food is wrong because what makes this place incredible is the staff. Everyone is SO NICE. The managers always make a point to check in, but it's not even necessary because the servers are so kind and accommodating that nothing is ever wrong or bad. Also, they leave the coffee carafes at the table, which is ideal for a breakfast restaurant. Overall, I love this place. I hope you have an Eggsperience as good as I have had! read more

Good solid American Breakfast (and Lunch) fare with really nice waiters and waitresses. Part of a small local Chicago chain, owned by some Greek Brothers who always make a point of circulating around the restaurant and making sure everyone is happy with their fare! Ask for the gourmet hash browns for a special treat, and expect to leave full. Even took home a simple Club Sandwich and a friend ate it a day later and said "wow! where did you get his?". Hubby and I have gone a couple of times, it pretty good. Definitely enough food and not bad at all. Eggs over medium were perfectly over medium: that is rare! Usually too runny or too hard. Pancakes on the side were large and too big for either of us to finish. Lots of booths! I like that. Booths are comfy. Staff was friendly, pitcher of ice water already on the table was a nice touch, we always drink a lot of water. Downside: we would like to order hot tea, but $3.50 for hot tea is WAY too much. $3.00 for coffee seems a little high too, since I rarely have more than one cup. If you're near the kitchen, be prepared to listen to a guy shouting at the cooks nonstop at top volume about the orders. read more

I live in the neighborhood and happened upon this restaurant on their opening day. Apparently they replaced another breakfast place. Pros: foods great, staff is nice (though they sat my in the very back despite the place being pretty empty, not sure what that was about), very sunny. Cons: Coffee is terrible. Thought it was just the one I got, so I tried a different coffee product and still awful. Would not recommend. Overall, good time and have been there a few times since. read more

I'm doing an updated review, it's been a year or so since these guys moved in and I think they've figured out the neighborhood (maybe not for dinner but I admire that they're trying to stay 'family friendly' and therefore aren't going for the TV Screens and Beer crowd. A shout out to the regular servers that take care of me: Daniella, Stephen, Alex (and I know I'm forgetting some, sorry -- I'm bad with names!). I always am taken care of by Frank at the front door to Pete one of the owners who checks on me, and never have a bad waiter/waitress experience. This is a solid diner, great breakfast plates, some very good hamburgers (though Rocks beats them with some fancy smancy burger offerings) and lovely sandwiches. I'm able to camp out on their WiFI, get re-fill after re-fill of zome amazing teas (not just two flavors), my guests get specialty coffees or drinks! Nice big tables and during the weekdays there's plenty of room to spread out, have a meeting or get computer work done outside of the house. I came here on 11/19 for breakfast with my Mom before she had to catch a flight. This place is so much better than the previous breakfast joint that was there. My family and I have eaten here about 6x so far. Every single time we have guests staying at our home we make it a point to have breakfast at EC. We were lucky enough to have Alexander Y. as our waiter each time. He is excellent! I've seen him keep up with orders and flawlessly with precision get customers what they need when they are slammed during weekend breakfast hours. The portions are large, tasty, and always come out piping hot. Alexander always makes sure to check on our table multiple times to make sure we're taken care of when it's busy or less busy he's on point. He even asks if we want our coffee our drinks to go. We no longer go to our local IHOP because EC provides great food and outstanding service. read more

It's become a bit of a tradition to go there, but not without making at least five or six references to the name while planning, walking there, eating, and leaving. The food is good. Is it the best breakfast food in the world? No. But it's good, you know exactly what you're getting. The magic, however, truly comes from the staff. I'll start by saying that the service here is good and we got seated very fast (+ in a booth which was great). We got our food pretty quickly too. I got the egg scrambler with my hash browns crispy and a side of pancakes. It was a generous serving and the hash browns were good. I ordered my eggs with spinach, mushrooms, and sausage, but i was struggling to find the sausage bits - could've been a little more generous. The pancakes tasted good but were crumbly and a little dry. The coffee was decent and I got a big pitcher all to myself. I also got a fresh to go cup of coffee right before leaving, free of charge. One complaint is that the payment system is a little odd. You have to pay at the front and we had to wait in line (about 10-15 other people waiting in front of us and quite a bit behind us). It seems pretty unorganized in that sense. Overall, I would recommend this spot for a quick and decent breakfast and great service, but there are definitely better brunch places in Chicago. read more
