There are Eggsmarts and there are Eggsmarts but the one on 2515 Barlow Trail SE is a stand out. A restaurant is more than food on a plate. Its about service, attitude, cleanliness, atmosphere and staff that show appreciation to patrons for spending their hard earned dollars. This location is well worth crossing the city for an early morning meal. read more

I ordered the French toast from them it looked really good but I took a bite and it was moldy bread. how can you serve your customers moldy bread???? how does that happen needlessly to say we will not be eating there again. read more

My previous review mentioned phantom reviews with 5 stars and people claiming that the place was the best. It is good to see that the reviews have been black holed in the Yelp universe. Shortly after my review was posted, the co-owner contacted me and asked me to give them another try and the meal would be on him. That was 3 weeks ago. I did not contact him nor accept any compensation as it would pollute the honesty and integrity of my reviews. I was in Calgary again and this morning decided to give them a try again. The same good service was given (I believe it was Irene) and I ordered the exact same meal - for comparison. The eggs were supposed to be over-ez but they were almost over hard, and their solution to ensuring that the sausages were cooked through was to butterfly them. Too bad the cooks have not figured how to cook the meat without having to hack them open. Just before finishing my meal, I Yelp messaged the co-owner to thank him for his email and told him that I was at his restaurant and advised him that I do not take compensation of any kind. I did however tell him that I will update my review based on today's experience. If you happen to be in the area and need a fill up, the food is fine for that - btw, coffee is pretty good and not included in the breakfast special. They seem to take more care with the food since my first trip there. Again, service isn't a problem. It's nice to see that Yelp reviews make a difference! Cheers. read more

I loved the eggs and sour dough toast, however, I ordered a strip loin and eggs, the steak wasn't that good. Could be seasoned way more, pretty plain Jane. And the potatoes weren't the greatest either. To be fair I ordered online so it was kinda cold when it got here too read more

Eggsmart - Strip loin steak - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

What a great spot for breakfast. They even have Keto dishes. They also serve Robins coffee which is the best coffee you can get in Canada. If you come in Monday to Friday they have a great breakfast deal for $7.99. read more

I ordered on skip the dishes and the amount of money I spent on the scrambler ($15) was ok for me but the amount of food was pathetic. The scrambler barely had 1 egg, let alone 3. There was barely even one potato worth of home fries. Terrible and ill never order again. What I got was ok, but for $15 for breakfast I should have just gone to Reds or any other place. Should have known better than to order from a place near a truck stop. The potatoes weren't crispy, the eggs were watery. I asked for over easy instead of scrambled and they sent scrambled. The only good part was the two slices of fresh avocado. I waited an hour for the food and it wasn't hot, not even slightly warm. The hollandaise was cold. I had to heat up the food when it got here. Just sad. Maybe eating in is better but you should provide better service to skip the dishes customers. read more

This is a fresh approach to feeding the working man. It's located in the Esso Truck Stop on Barlowe Trail, and replaces a tired old place that has been open with no new ideas, and a sadly neglected interior. It is now bright and clean which makes you feel better about coming in. I am usually in this area on Thursdays and try to eat lunch there. I have gone back on the weekend with friends from out of town, and We all got a good meal, attractively delivered. Sunday mornings they could use one more waitress to speed up service, but the two that were working were busting their buns to cover the tables. On my last visit, on the Sunday morning, I had the Steak & Eggs, which were prepared well, and although the steak was ordered medium rare, it was delivered as a medium. Pretty close, and not worth complaining about. The staff were friendly and earned their tip. read more

Great little place to go for breakfast. We had fast service and good food. We opted, due to reviews, to fries vs. home fries and they were delicious. Hubs had the Meatlovers omelette and I had the Denver sandwich. Both really good. Come for the early bird special and you get eggs, bacon, ham, hashbrowns and toast for $6.99 from 7am-10am weekdays. read more

This restaurant is so clean and tidy. It just opened last week. We really needed a breakfast restaurant like this in Midnapore. Really great deals on breakfast. I had the classic breakfast. You get 3 eggs, 3 pieces of meat, hash or fries and seasonal fruit. Only 6.99! I ordered fries and turkey bacon. Hands down best fries I've ever had. They were crispy and fluffy at the same time. I had fresh squeezed orange juice. They have a huge machine that makes it right in front of you. The owners were super nice and accommodating. They checked on us to make sure everything was good. I will definitely be returning on Father's Day. read more

We got flyer for this place, buy one entree and get another for free, they have early bird breakfast for $6.99 ( cheapest breakfast in the diner) then off we go (Hubby and I), the place you can see it from Barlow SE, same parking lot as Petrocanada for truck stop, very clean and neat, waitress was very friendly, I ordered Egg Benny and smoke salmon for 14.99 and and hubby order eggsmart classic breakfast I forgot but it was away less than mine, at the end we only paid $20 for bottomless good coffee and both breakfast. It well recommended for family where you can order 1 breakfast entree and kid eat free. We will be back again for sure. Bringing friends and use coupon we still have. read more

Excellent meat lovers omelette. Great service. Reasonably priced. Clean and modern. I'll come back if I'm in the area again.

I went for brunch this afternoon and the food was fantastic. The presentation and taste was fantastic. Overall the service was great and fast and my family and I will come again! read more

Had breakfast with friends on weekend. Clean restaurant, our server was friendly and always smiling. I ordered meat lovers scramble and it was so tasteful. A friend of mine had Skyscraper pancake that she really enjoyed. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. I saw great reviews online so thought I would bring my family here for a weekend breakfast. The first sign this place is bad is it was dead like maybe 5 tables filled on a Saturday morning. It took a good 20 mins to get drinks and my husband and I ordered the litre of lemonade which took even longer to get. We ordered three kids meals, a scrambler and a hash. It was almost an hour before we received our food. When we got it I was so unimpressed that we almost got up and left. The scrambler is an absolute joke. It was a tiny bowl of scrambled eggs with sliced cheese on top and maybe 5 chunks of hash browns on the side which were still raw. There was also lots of liquid in the bottom of the bowl so everything was soggy. My husband had two bites and said it was horrible. My hash was a bunch of barely cooked potatoes with what looked like sandwich meat sliced and raw onions. Nothing like the description of caramelized onions in the menu. After waiting nearly an hour for food the least they could have done was make sure it was cooked through. Another disappointing thing is a breakfast place that uses boxed eggs. Eggs are cheap why are you using processed eggs? The only fresh eggs are in the breakfast where you can choose your type of egg. Anything scrambled is the horrific boxed eggs that my kids barely choked down saying they tasted like fake eggs. We never once got checked on after receiving our food. We watched a few couples come in and leave when they never got served. I don't know how a place like this will survive in a truck stop. Most truckers don't want to wait forever to get sub par food. I was also overcharged by $3 for our lemonade. Good thing I checked over the bill well before paying. I will never return here and make sure other people do not waste their time on money on a place that has under trained staff. read more
