Super disappointed! This place has the best wait staff, but the cooks don't make the food fresh! My breakfast came out room temperature and when I sent it back, all they had done was heat it up instead of make it fresh... as if I couldn't tell. I hope the ownership makes some changes here. UPDATE: Went again, and AGAIN got cold food! And again, when I asked for them to remake it fresh, Heath the owner said no. I decided to not eat any of my food and just pay for the meal and leave. Before leaving I asked to speak with Heath and we discussed the cold food issue and he said that they would ensure fresh and hot food next time. They also only charged me half which was nice, but I would've paid full, no prob. I just want hot and fresh food. read more

I do not recommend this place in the slightest. Didn't even have a chance to try to food. We stood waiting at the door for 25 minutes while all wait staff stared at us doing nothing. One person was seating and would just take everyone standing in front of the door and skip over everyone else. There's plenty more I could say about how terrible this place is. So a very cute place to go for breakfast or lunch. The staff was friendly and helpful since it was our first time here. I like the fact that the eggs tasted fresh and not something out a carton. Now the grits tasted different than what I was use too. I just could not put my finger on what was different but they differently needed salt and pepper. I can not wait to go back. read more

Tried this place for the first time today and from Start to finish we were very well taken care of . My mom and I were sat at a clean table and our order taken . We received everything we ordered and the pancakes tasted like homemade . It was like a family atmosphere! You could tel they had lots of regulars as they were greeting them by name when they came in .when the bill was as ready they have a QR code on the receipt that you can pay just your scanning it with your phone . The smell in the restaurant is horrible. It smells like mold or smelly eggs. The customer service was great. The black girl (I don't remember her name) was awesome at explaining what was going on with the smell because she noticed my face. She was very attentive. The food .... was basic. My sister cheese grits came out with a slice of American cheese on top not melted. Come on that's lazy and upgrade the ingredients too at least cheddar. My French toast was blah I think they over did it on the egg mixture. You can tell that they just get premade ingredients and just slap it together. Most of the stuff you can expect at home but you can do it better. They need to up their menu and offering with premium ingredients & a little bit more creativity. the kitchen was pretty slow for it not to be that busy. Great service. This establishment is located in the shopping center of my housing complex. I have personally been served several times by Jakera J and have no complaints. Good experiences in the past, but NOT TODAY. Service was slow because the waitress was spending more time goofing off than waiting on tables. She didn't understand my order, but instead of asking someone more experienced, she just submitted it incorrectly, and so it was done incorrectly. She kept ignoring the fact that we were finished eating, and let us just sit there for a LONG time. When she finally came to let us check out, she just ANNOUNCED the total - didn't show us the bill. Our server was great with a positive attitude. The restaurant is decorated well and very clean. There wasn't much social distancing. The food was very reasonably priced. Good portions. Mimosas aren't available yet, which was a bit disappointing for a brunch spot. The home fries were undercooked and lukewarm upon arrival to our table. I ordered a salad, and the spring mix used wasn't the freshest as it was wilted and soggy before I added dressing. The chicken had a nice taste. Our takeout order was very subpar. We ordered a BLT, blueberry muffin, belgian waffle with turkey bacon and house fries. When it came to the BLT, the bread was just slapped on the sandwich, and it was not toasted whatsoever. There was a sliver of lettuce and and overload of tomatoes. It seemed like a very rushed job, and this applies to the takeout packaging. There was only 1 utensil set for everything we got, and there was no condiments or syrup for us to pair with our dish. This was a first visit and restaurant in Berwick Plaza was absolutely nothing special. It was a strange experience from the beginning. Host sat us at a table that needed cleaning when there were lots of other tables available in that section. It took him 15 minutes to come and clean it off and he seemed confused in doing so. Then it took a while for server to take our order after we sat down and had a chance to look at the menu. From there, our order took forever and when the food came, my food was not what I ordered. Plus the toast came about 5 minutes after the initial delivery. The wait person apologized and while I realize we all make mistakes we also had to flag her down for a coffee refill when they weren't overly busy. I overheard that the table that came in after us also received an incorrect order. I received a discount on my order, which was good since they also charged me more than the item I had originally ordered. Atmosphere is nothing special and food was just o.k. I received a text message stating it was ready for pick up. Fifteen minutes after the text my food is still not ready and still continuing to wait. I get an apology but no rush to find out when or time frame of how much longer my order will take. I could have sat down and ate quicker than doing pick up. I'm a frequent flyer here and have been for about a year. Typically, I'm grabbing food to go either before work or after a workout. I can say that lately, the quality is just not there. Not answering the phone, and if they do the host is usually new and slow processing the order. I'm told 10-15 min wait but it typically is about 45 mins from after the phone call. Lately the quality of the food has not been up to par. Today, after calling continuously and getting no answer, my boyfriend ordered at the location just for them to forget half of my order. I tried to call to speak with a manager to give constructive criticism but again.. nobody answers. I'm writing this review in good faith that management sees and makes a great turn around. A lot of potential for this place and I just want to see it thrive. I probably won't be ordering for a few months, I can't continue to be hungry AND aggravated when I finally get my food. read more

I have eaten here several times over the past 6 months. We drive from another city 45 min away to eat here. Each previous visit has been great. However today was a huge disappointment. We went in at about 10:30. Not super busy which was nice. I ordered the hash and eggs combo. My friend ordered a biscuit with bacon and cheese. First, the portion size was awful. I get it, economy and supply chain issues. However $11.59 for less than a cup of hash and less than a cup of of eggs is ridiculous. My friend ordered the bacon on her biscuit extra crispy. It was not and had to be sent back. At this point our server's pleasant demeanor switched. We could tell she was annoyed at having to redo the bacon order. When the order came back, it was still not right. She ended up taking the bacon off her biscuit, leaving just cheese. The cost for that? $7.99. As we were finishing up, the waitress returns (mind you she had not said 10 words since bringing back the redone order) with 4 new bacon pieces. She did not tell us before hand that she was bringing them. We were done with our meal at this point and the bacon was not needed then. We paid our bill, still gave a tip, and left. As much as I hate to say this, we will not be back. And it is a shame because there are so few good breakfast places in our area. read more

I had high hopes upon entering this restaurant. The restaurant looks very nice and we were greeted when we came in. We didn't wait too long for our server either. My husband and I were absolutely disappointed and disgusted with the level of service we were given. There had been people waiting on their food for an hour, fortunately we did not have to wait that long. I ordered home fries and the potatoes were not cooked through, the turkey bacon was greasy, and the french toast was soggy. I sent the plate back mainly because of the undercooked potatoes. Our server was very rude and continued to question me about why I didn't want the plate anymore after I told her the potatoes were undercooked. I ended up ordering the same thing as my husband (shrimp and grits) WITHOUT sausage. The plate came back with sausage. WRONG AGAIN!!! I could not believe it, the server was unapologetic and did not return back to our table my husband was extremely uncomfortable and did not finish his food. We asked for the manager and he never even showed his face. Our server did not come back to apologize to me instead she sent another server and at that point I just walked out. She then came to my husband with a sorry ass apology. This is the worst experience I've ever had. We will not be eating here again. read more

I don't even know where to start for this review. We arrived around 11:40. The hostess was clueless at her job. She told us it was a 15-20min wait. Cool. She said she didn't need our information to let us know the table was ready. What? She didn't even ask our party name, how many people, or better yet our number so how is she going to let us know our table is ready? The wait time was fine it was just how the she handled it. Some people were leaving because they weren't greeted at the door. We sat down at 12 and we didn't leave until 1:40ish. Our server was nice so that made it a little better. We overheard conversations of customers with the manager about the wait-time and service and manager was basically saying okay in a I don't care tone. Food was sub-par and wasn't even worth the wait time. There wasn't a lot of meat if any in my food which I was disappointed in. My wife's omelette was basically a vegetable omelette with little to no meat. I probably won't give it a second chance again that's how bad our experience was. I hope others have a better experience than we did! read more

This restaurant just opened. We tried to eat here on New Years day (4 adults and 2 young kids). Horrible experience. (We will try again in several months to give them time to fix their problems). We had called ahead to reserve and when we got there were told a 30-minute wait. We were seated after some explaining our call-ahead. The server took our orders, had a lot of difficulty with the order entry system (handheld thing). Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Some of the staff didn't show up to work, they were clearly hopelessly behind in orders, and the manager was very nonchalant in addressing things. Despite low staffing, they still had 4 cooks in the kitchen that just didn't seem to know what they were doing. After 45 minutes two adults had to take the kids home while the other two two waited another 45 minutes for our food. Many tables just got up and left in that time. Finally we took our "order" to go. When we opened it at home, it was an embarrassment- food missing, a veggie omelette that had no veggies, tasteless home fries, etc across the board. The worst mismanagement and organization in a restaurant i ever saw. This restaurant owes us our money back. read more
