First the good... Eggs florentine & buttermilk pancakes were really good. That coconut syrup. ..wow! Would order again & again. The bad... Seated at a booth that had a HUGE tear in the seat. It's sad they don't even try to fix or hide it. First impression was not good. Also, the service was a bit slow. Took awhile before we were even acknowledged, & wait help seemed to be more worried about clearing tables. We weren't told about any Kamaaina discount, so guess you have to ask? We forgot & didn't get any discount. Luckily the food made up for the above, so I can still say it was worth eating here. read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - Eggs Florentine is very good! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Great place to get your breakfast on!!! Always passed this place but was never tempted to try it. Went around 9 the place was already filled. Service was quick which is always a plus. They had a lot of different varieties. The pancakes were super fluffy And tasted like heaven!! I also tried the spinach mushroom omelet which was very simple yet satisfying. I'm not sure if it was a vegetarian omelet. Great place for breaksfast/brunch. read more

The best thing about Eggs 'n Things is their interior. It's bright and sunny! Just the way you'd want a breakfast place to be. Oh, and most of the wait staff are very friendly. Other then that, blah, this place isn't that great. Why so junk? Because their food is just disappointing. BF and I came for breakfast one day and ordered a Corned Beef Hash Omelette and a Veggie Omelette. Menu is full of the basics but they had some interesting specials written on the whiteboard. BF's Corned Beef Hash omelette was full of canned corned beef. Canned. Even more so, it was bland and greasy. He was not happy. My VEGGIE omelette was a little better--a sprinkling of spinach and mushrooms, zucchini (which I thought was weird) and mozzarella cheese. Not bad! Potatoes were alright. I was disappointed with their pancakes--I expected something awesome because they sell the mix to tourists! Nothing special about them. The weird thing about the omelettes was that it seemed like...the cooks fried up the "toppings", put it on a plate, and then put an egg over it. So yeah, an egg over toppings. Maybe it's just their way of making omelettes? So mediocre (pricey) food combined with a lengthy wait means that we will not likely be back. There are plenty of better breakfast places to spend my $$ on instead. I'm afraid even the iD card discount won't be enough to lure me back. read more

Vague menu. Rather than stating $5.95 for a specialty pancake upgrade, it says "for a little more". Also, why do I have to pay more to get toast instead of pancakes or rice??? pancakes were mediocre, not super fluffy or anything. i prefer Koa Pancake House or even Denny's. shortcomings aside, this place has AWESOME JUICE. i had the guava. it has a thicker consistency. try it out. read more

This place seems to have a reputation for being tourist-focused which might be a little off putting to some of the locals, but i've been here a few times now and it's been nothing but good to great each time! The Crab Cake Eggs Bene are pretty tasty...if it's night time and/or Cinnamon's is just too damn far a drive, this is the place to get your fix for sure. Never had to ask them to re do the poached eggs as well, they nail it every time. (Yeah I know that's expected, but we all know how often places overcook the eggs!) The Adobo Fried Rice was awesome...stole some off my friend's plate WHILE he was looking and waving a spoon at me. That good. Pancakes are excellent as well. The omelettes are pretty decent as well, as long as you like the stuff in them. i.e. the one w/white onions that I ordered had a LOT of onions, but I love them, so it was great to me. The service has always been great. We've had Ian a couple of times and he's one of the better waiters i've had anywhere on the island. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive without being irritating at all. Yaaaaaay to good breakfast food for dinner...ESP. with great service! read more

I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict Disappointments: They would not let me substitute the pancakes for salad, the manager citing that it "wasn't an option they offer" The so-called crab cake was a whole lot of filling and not much crab meat. I suppose grace should be granted since they're not in Maryland? Disappointing nonetheless. The hollandaise sauce was heavy and didn't taste like HOLLANDAISE sauce. The eggs were overcooked. Traditional eggs benedict has a poached egg with a runny yolk. These eggs were almost fully cooked. Overloaded with paprika. The bread was extremely heavy and difficult to cut through with the plastic knife I'd been given. I didn't eat the pancakes, but my sister did. She shared that it was very dry. Kudos: The decor was cute and refreshing, but definitely didn't make up for the disappointing meal. I MAY consider returning to try something else on the menu, something other than the crab cake benedict and pancakes. read more

Husband and decided to have a late breakfast, and boy did it end up being late. Waited for about 25 minutes to be seated (which we only did because we were parked very near and could wait in our truck). After we ordered, waited about another 25 minutes (maybe even more) for our food to come. I ordered the French toast of the day, banana and chocolate chip. I asked the waitress if it came with eggs or potatoes or something because it was priced at $12.95, which is kinda pricey for just French toast alone, but she said no, it was just three pieces with no sides. I got it anyway because I was ono for it already... bad choice. It was VERY dry... French toast should NOT be dry! And it had the load of tasteless whipped cream piled on. It was very disappointing, to say the least. My husband had the crab cake benedict. He thought it was mediocre... no chunks of crab meat, the egg was over cooked (yolk should be runny), and the hollandaise sauce was lumpy and not that great tasting. Side of pancakes were dry, very plain tasting. The only thing that had the most flavor was the home fries... some pieces were really tasty and fried well. So disappointing! It's unfortunate when you're prompted to write a review for negative reasons, but if I can help even a few people with saving their money and appetites from this place, then it wouldn't be in vain. read more

Eggs and things is an amazing place, I first experienced the establishment years ago with my family while our community association was having our houses tented, since then it had always been in the back of my mind as a place that I would one day take my friends. Starting in 2010 I had been meaning to take my friends to one of these locations and never managed to do it, tired and starving from walking AA and the dealers room for hours looking for people to commission arts from we always just ended up at Shirokiya to drown our pain and sorrows in ramen. Recently though I've had the opportunity to take some of my people here on separate trips. Our service was amazing all 3 times and I really can't complain about anything. Our meals were amazing and made very positive impressions on the people I've brought in, some of them have gone on to take others to the establishment. I honestly hope that they are around for a long time. read more

HORRIBLE! If you're hungry and don't have a lot of patience or have a low tolerance for rude workers, STAY AWAY! Came here with my brother for the first time, wanting to try some place new. Seen the reviews but thought, hey let's give this place a shot. But boy was I WRONG! Service SUCKED and the hostess? One word: RUDE! Didn't bother to walk is to our table, just made eye contact from across the room with a little hand gesture for us to sit at a table, with ONE MENU! We were offered a water from one of the buss boys (he was polite). The waitress was awful she took our order, making me repeat my order twice, with a look of 'I really don't wana be here'. When our food came out, I wasn't all that excited. Took a bite only to confirm my dislike for the place. I finished as much as I could and got the heck outta there. To make things short and sweet. Unless your willing to be served by people who really don't care if you eat there or not and have a look of complete boredom, I suggest you STAY AWAY! & spend your money else where. Where the service is great and the food even better! read more

I waited about 20 years to eat at this place, first heard of them when they were in Waikiki only, and they had rave reviews. However I gotta be in the mood to eat breakfast for lunch so finally I was and went to the Piikoi outlet. It wasn't busy, about 1/4 full and when I got in, no one at the hostess stand. I was confused so turned to the right and saw a slender girl behind the bar and said just one person. Not a word was said, and all she did was slide her eyes to my left indicating the stools around the bar. So I went to grab one but a waiter came up and said would you rather sit at a table, which I said yes. Never saw that girl again, seems the hostess was another asian girl with long black hair. The first one had colored hair and was asian appearing. Service was prompt and I ordered pancakes, with potatoes and their spinach omelette. The pancakes were great and so was the omelette. But the potatoes, WTF. There in a horrible orange red coating and dried out and warm. Obliviously they've been sitting under a warmer lamp for gawd who knows how long? 1 hour? 2 hours? Tasted like SHEET! I offered to my furred pigs (dogs) and a good indication that it's sheet food is they both refused my leftovers at home. They love potatoes but even they wouldn't eat this sheet. One sniff and they turned their head. Yea I know that feeling except their mommy was stupid enough to eat more than one, proving my dogs are smarter than me, sometimes. The other reason why I hated this fricking place was that the two local boy waiters were talking across the room and station at each other.....discussing what they were gonna do after work and that a "Marshall" was coming to work soon. Marshall must be the boss or coworker. Whatevah they discussed him and their personal lives loudly. So loud I could not hear my Kindle through earphones. Come on dudes, I know you wanna party hardy pau hana but I don't give a sheet about your personal lives. Really. In spite of this Private Lives conversation, service was excellent, hence the 20%+ tip. I worked in a tipping industry and know it's hard work. With the rude eye sliding waitress to these yappy boys I had to give it a one-star. Horrible. Only matched by my bad experience at Teddy's Burgers Wahiawa. When a place specializes in b r e a k f a s t and that's their signature meal I expect everything to be near perfect. Omelette was great but nevah have taste, pancakes were great, but I wouldn't go back for it. I spent $24 + incld. tip for this food. I rather have spent it for steak at another place. Eggs and pancakes are cheap to make! nope will never be back - if I want sub par food and a loud environment I'll eat a high school cafeteria, thank you very much. oh, cashier nevah give me my receipt either...I just thought f* it and left. read more

I'm sorry to all, but Eggs & things you are expensive, friendly, but expensive, clean but expensive, good size portions, but expensive...ohh and expensive. I use to go really crazy hours to the old location on Ena road YEARS ago. They were affordable, (under 10 dollars) no crazy lines, & the portions was always wayy too much. but what happened?? Now that they've expanded, the portions are okay, im just talking about the omelet size, the pancakes are still good, but seriously i know times are hard, but please don't make it harder for me to go with your up charge on prices & everything extra. Maybe i'm over exaggerating but i do recall a side of meat for 4 dollars? or close to that range? ughhh this makes me sad typing this review... Your friendliness cannot cover the expense it takes to eat there. At least kamaaina?? read more

I love and live for breakfast even for lunch and dinner. I could eat waffles/pancakes/french toast for dessert to be honest. I know that Eggs n Things is known to be a touristy location but I found that it wasn't as much of a tourist trap as I had initially thought. They also offer a 5% discount for kamaaina so don't forget to show your ID! Although eggs n things doesn't make my list for top 3 breakfast places (boots, cinnamons, sweet es, in that order), I still thought they served a pretty solid and filling breakfast. We got off to a bit of a late morning start so we ended up eating breakfast for lunch. I ordered the spinach, bacon, pepperjack omelette with strawberry whip/mac nut pancakes. Since I upgraded from the standard buttermilk it was around $3.75 extra. The omelette wasn't anything extravagant or different but it was still tasty. The egg is sort of flat/thin and topped over the spinach and bacon. If you contrast the texture of the egg to Boots and Kimos, I'd say it lacked fluff. If you whipped an egg and spread in thinly in a round pan that's what your omelette here would look like. It wasn't bad but I prefer my eggs to be a bit fluffier. The fillings were definitely hearty and delicious. I liked that the spinach inside was raw as it added texture (not soggy) to the dish. I know everyone likes bacon but it was a bit overkill...I felt that it was too much and that it made it a bit salty. The salsa that was served with it on the side was a perfect touch and I would actually eat that with my eggs any day. The strawberry whip mac nut pancakes were pretty good too. You get 3 with your meal if you order pancakes as your side. I don't know the difference between "good" pancakes and "bad" pancakes as I feel like most of the time pancakes taste fairly similar. But I would say that these pancakes were nice and fluffy and lived up to my standards. The strawberries were a good touch but I wish they were a bit more generous with them. As for the whipped cream....that in itself was a meal alone. IT WAS SO BIG AND FLUFFY. I don't know how anyone eats all that whipped cream. But it was definitely a perfect addition to the strawberries and pancakes. I really liked the guava and coconut syrups. The coconut was a bit rich in flavor but anyone who likes haupia will absolutely love this. I liked the guava since it was a bit more fruity and light but since I couldn't decide between which one I liked more, I ended up just alternating with each bite. My mom had the veggie omelette and regular buttermilk pancakes. She wished that there were more veggies like broccoli, tomatoes, etc but said that it left her completely stuffed and wishing she had more room in her stomach so that she could finish her food. Her pancakes were just plain but she also alternated between syrups since she couldn't decide which one she liked more. Overall we enjoyed our breakfast and I would definitely return. I don't think it's the "best" breakfast place on the island but they serve decent food with pretty good service. If you don't feel like driving all the way to kailua and all the morning breakfast joints are closed, just come here. They will satisfy your breakfast craving for the most part. Unless you're looking for something special (like eggs benedict, GO TO CINNAMONS), they cover most of your breakfast needs. read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - Spinach, bacon, cheese omelette with upgraded strawberry whip pancakes and veggie cheese omelette with buttermilk pancakes. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I love breakfast, especially when it's for dinner and Egg's 'n Things provides that. However, for the price, the food isn't quite worth it. The offerings are slightly upgraded from traditional breakfast fair and very novel. They serve all the staples and a few special items as well. My visit netted me a loco moco with bacon fried rice and a white sauce. It was tasty and well made. For dessert, I had rainbow pancakes. These are six mini pancakes with a heaping mound of whipped cream on top. Under each whipped cream mountain was a different colorful flavor. There was a chocolate chip, kiwi, strawberry and pineapple to name a few. It was yummy and made for a great picture. Try them out for a new take on breakfast items and try their desserts! They are sure to wow! read more

Nothing unique--just normal breakfast. We had the Hawaiian Loco Moco (regular loco moco topped with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and chopped portuguese sausage), turkey bacon/tomato/cheese omelette, and chocolate chip pancakes. Everything was okay. However, my omelette had slices of tomatoes, rather than chopped or minced pieces. This detail made my omelette extremely runny and I had to eat it with a spoon. Hawaiian Loco Moco was rich and heavy. Probably not recommended for those who can't stomach a heavy, greasy meal at the beginning of their day. Service was not exactly on-point. Our utensils were dirty, so we asked for a new set. Food came out before the utensils and the server told us it took awhile because they "ran out of silverware." Hmmmmm. After the food was delivered, service was nonexistent. We had to go up to the counter to request a takeout box and to pay without given the check. Will likely not return partly for the service, but mainly because the food was just not worth the wait. read more

Food = decent. Service = mediocre at best. Cleanliness = awful. Way overkill on why to go to this place. Denny's is at least clean. This place is nasty. read more

Nothing like the original location in Waikiki, that I used to frequent despite the lack of parking, long waits, lack of private seating , & hurried meals. The food was good and the service was efficient and friendly enough at the original location. Those aunties knew their stuff. Our server was not unfriendly. He just wasn't on it...at all. He didn't appear to have a busy section. There were lots of empty tables. I don't mind waiting if it's busy. He took a while to even take our order. He had difficulty taking our order, which I suspect was because of the little handheld gadget used instead of an old fashioned pad of paper (saves trees but difficult to use). He forgot an item on our order, but that's okay because the guy who ran our food fixed that (possibly a manager). When we were done stuffing our faces, he must have passed our table at least three times without acknowledging us. No iced tea refill and he just wouldn't drop the check, although he did have the time to stand around talking to a female employee behind the counter. During this time my friend had lots of time to look up all the bad reviews for this place on Yelp. I really wasn't going to bother writing a review as the food was okay. I had macadamia nut furikake crusted ahi with eggs & potatoes and pancakes with coconut syrup for dessert. Yeah, that's a lot of food and I got sick as soon as I got home. Not I-ate-too-much-I'm-going-to-be-sick sort of sick. More like, someone-did-not-wash-their-hands-properly kind of gastroenteritis sick. Ugh. So now I'm stuck at home with lots of time to write a Yelp review. read more

Great place for breakfast. Low key and relaxing environment. Food was great and service was fast.

Warm friendly greetings, excellent service, delicious food and "10 stars+" consistent hospitality. Mahalo!

As much as I hate how much of a tourist trip Eggs 'n Things has become over the years, I commend them on still serving up a consistently good breakfast. Personally I don't stray away from omelets and crepes so I can't say it for the whole menu and on a recent visit to the new location I walked out happy and satisfied. And honestly, isn't that all that matters? My sister and I were in a little bit of a rush so we chose what we wanted to eat while we waited to be seated. We knew the portions were big so we decided to split a veggie omelet and pancakes (as the side dish). We mentioned to our waitress that we were in a rush and she brought our food out in 10 minutes so we had plenty of time to eat/drink/chat/pay. I agree that its not the cheapest breakfast joint on the block but honestly, if you share its not much different from other spots. I think we paid $18 ish with tip and were full. So before completely crossing Eggs n Things off your list next time you want to eat some breakfast, consider this new location - its a lot less crowded than Waiks. read more

PROS: * Always seems to have parking spaces open even though it's a small parking lot * Service was friendly and it's cool how they now use iPods to take & send your order to the kitchen * The Hawaiian Loco Moco was really good! It comes with 2 eggs, rice, mushrooms, and bits of Portuguese sausage. Full of flavor and a great portion size. * Also ordered a side of corned beef hash, which was meh. Nothing special but it's corned beef hash, how could you go wrong. CONS: * Very crowded so be prepared to wait * the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was not what I expected. The crab cake didn't stand out as much as I hoped so it just tasted like a regular eggs Benedict but with no meat - just egg, bread, and hollandaise sauce. Overall, it was an okay experience and I hope to come back again soon to try other things on their menu! read more

For awhile we have heard about this place in Waikiki and it was always too busy (out the door lines) and without parking so not convenient for any of us involved. Alas we were elated to hear that there was a new location and thought let's get on it...short and sweet here are my positives and negatives... Keep in mind it was myself, my gal pal and 7 month old baby.. Positivanos- lol Lots of parking, No waiting, plenty of seating, friendly staff, counter seating available and large menu to chose from. I'm a waffle lover and there were 3 kinds- coconut and 2 other nice choices Negativinsky- No espresso drinks offered (ugg none of any kind- just coffee- and rated not fantastic) We asked to share a strawberry waffle and crab eggs benedict- waitress (more like runner -different than our waiter that didn't seem to come by more than twice :( -i.e. begging for coffee refills, extra spoon and napkins twice) came by with wrong order and seemed confused. Benedict was served with a side of pancakes- which we digged in quickly while waiting for our other meal. Pancakes were just ok but not anything special. Benedict was ok but would recommend asking for sauce on the side- super soggy but that's not always a bad thing. Finally when the waffle came it was super duper thin (like crepe thickness) and soggy with old or canned strawberries (tried one and wasn't interested in eating them) and enough whipped cream for the super bowl (all fine and good if the waffle and strawberries were fresh and good this would be awesome) All in All- I would much rather go to Yogur Story! Less busy, modern setting and much more accommodating and relaxing.. Just my thoughts..(it could always be a bad day for these guys because this could and should be a great place)..cheers thanks for listening to my kavetching... read more

Yeah I don't know why people are lined up for the mediocre food. I order the pineapple and honey chicken strips chicken and waffles with a side of egg. First of all my Chicken was burnt. Then I asked was it suppose to be coated in some sort of glaze. The person that worked there had to ask another person. He said yes and bought me out what appeared to be chicken marinate. It was liquid that had chicken fat floating on the top. The eggs were fried so hard after I asked for soft. No seasoning and bland as heck. I not saying don't eat here but pick ur poison. read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - My raw egg white omelette :-( - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

easier access than the Waikiki one, this one is just as crowded. The little parking lot is always packed. The wait on a weekday morning (by morning I mean 11ish), was about an hour. Once we were seated, we found the menu... kinda silly. Phrases like "for a little more..." we had to ask how much more it was to sub special pancakes for the combo meals. the POG isn't the kind you find at the supermarket, it's a real mix of their real juices from the taste of it. the choco chip is delicious but I've never been able to finish it. I recommend the combo platters cause the regular pancakes are just too much, and gets tired too quick. you take the check up, and the waitress was very good about seperate checks. read more

ATMOSPHERE: I've been here a few times. Great location, conveniently(?) next to Ala Moana and shares the parking lot with Chodangs, Taiyo Ramen, and Nijiya Market (which means you probably will have to just use the mall parking garage and walk over). I've had to wait for 40 minutes on a Sunday morning, not surprising, but what WAS surprising was their awesome system of texting to call you back while you were waiting instead of those filthy buzzers/vibrators. :) During a rush hour or Sunday breakfast/lunch times, the noise level can get up there, and crying babies or kids will be present. I was awkwardly placed on a small table sandwiched between two other tables, a foot apart, so that we could hear each other's conversations... awkward indeed. But on a normal day, they could probably group their tables more--ask for a booth? Great sized booths if you like that extra room. Overall clean place and bright, refreshing lighting. I enjoy this place WAY more than I do Koa Pancake House (which is nothing special unless you're hungover and want something quick), hands down. FOOD: Good. (I wouldn't pay any more though.) Best pancakes I've had in a while, that don't have the box-batter aftertaste. The portion sizes are great. I never had that "I got gypped!" feeling. They are generous with the bacon in the omelet. Good flavors. I love their eggs and pancakes. The loco mocos are bomb too. I'm not sure of anything else--if you want more than "eggs and things" you should probably go elsewhere? This is my family's default place for Sunday nights instead of Zippys. hooray. SERVICE: This is why I'm writing the review. We had excellent service tonight. Our waiter was EDDIE. I haven't had such polite, funny, awesome service in a long a$$ time (if not, ever!). He made every table he was waiting, laugh and smile--his energy was contagious. He moved fast to get whatever we needed. We walked out of Eggs n Things in a happier mood because of him. So positive. After a long week, this is what everyone needs. Thank you, Eddie--You won't be there long. He speaks Japanese too--impressive. He was making them tourists crack up too! Loved him. Unlike most waiters I usually have at any other restaurant, he looks like he wants to be there and wants to serve you. He doesn't look tired and down and lazy. Amazing... Five stars for Eddie tonight. The other couple times I've been here, they were average. DISCOUNTS for Kama'aina (15%) and UH students (the student discount is better, 20%) -- AWESOME. TLDR: Pretty much like a Original Pancake House, but brighter atmosphere, discounts for kama'aina and UH students. Pancakes are ono and not box-batter-tasting. EDDIE is one of the best waiters I've ever had in all my restaurant experiences. Give this place a try :) Beats waiting for eternity at the Waikiki location. read more

It would be nice to put more stars, but the service was very slow, our drinks came out pretty much at the same time as our food. Like our waitress took our orders and then left. No drinks for about 20 minutes, soon enough we got waters from ANOTHER waitress. I was ready to walk out because I wanted a tea but every time our waitress came she just left, gave us our drinks and left no comment, just awful service. I don't know how this place has good reviews, service is ass. read more

Wednesday Night Paniolo Loco Moco: Bacon, Mushrooms, Onions, with a unique white eggy gravy on top of your usual loco moco. For $13, it wasn't really worth it. Fortunately, as an iDcard patron I managed to snag myself a 20% dinner discount, dropping it to nearly $10, which was then quite a lovely deal. That loco moco was a rather interesting dish. You never really have these ingredients in a loco moco together, and this amalgam tastes pretty amazing. But when you realize that you can still easily whip up the same thing at home (minus the unique gravy which isn't anything too special, just more eggy and fluffy), it definitely did not feel like it was worth $13, especially given that I could probably hold the whole thing without its bowl in my hand (please don't do this!). Just the way they present this as a unique loco moco makes the price a bit higher than it should be. What's rather bohemian however are their pancakes. One of my friends had ordered strawberry pancakes, and it actually makes a nice dessert. Palm-sized pancakes topped with pinches of light sugar, macademia nuts, real strawberries, and an inundation of light whipped cream. Don't forget the strawberry syrup they have on the side with all the other condiments! This treat is a true love-hate relationship, however, due to just how much whipped cream they add onto the pancake. I personally find that amount of whipped cream overly excessive - maybe an abstemious half or even less would be enough - but at the same time I couldn't help but indulge myself in what seemed to be so light yet sweet of a dainty combination. Everything else was just okay. The service was relatively average - I suppose that can be a good thing too. Not too long of a wait for anything, from being seated to receiving the check, and your occasional check-up to see if everything's good. A nice, relaxing ambiance after a long frenetic day will do the trick. Eggs n' Things has got its niche for serving rather unique breakfast foods at any time of the day. Even if everything is rather pedestrian, simply given that experience may just be enough to get you coming back a second time. read more

My friends and I finally got a table at Eggs n Things after a long wait in the morning. While we waited in the long line, we bought some small gifts (cap and handbag - total cost us $70) at their restaurant /for my sister as gifts. It wasn't impressed us having breakfast at such a famous place right close to the shopping mall. But what made us "angry" was because the attitude of the store manager. My sister didn't like the gifts we bought from the eggs and things. Then we brought them back to the restaurant to return but they refused. I was shocked because I never ever met this situation before - I bought those gifts 2 hours ago and wanted to return it because my sister didn't want a hat and a bag. But the store manager said they won't accept any of the sold items to be returned!!!! The attitude of the lady who claimed she is the restaurant store manager was incredible rude!!!!!!! It was totally unacceptable! I went to another Egg n thing located in different street on the other day. I went to the store and checked if I buy something from their gift store but if I change my mind later on the same day - am I able to return it? They said "YES" as long as the return item is not food. Then I asked does it apply to all of their stores in Hawaii? They said yes. In short, I wish there's a 0 star from Yelp I can give to the store I visited on the first day - their attitude and totally no sense of the "basic" customer oriented were unacceptable! read more

First timer! Originally the fam wanted to go to the small korean place in the corner for dinner, but this looked so much more appealing (I guess big open restaurants with no wait looks good when you're starving). It can be hard pleasing everyone in our family, dad likes local food, niecey only eats a handful of things, mom & sis like Asian food, and I... well, I'm a picky eater. From the loco-moco, to the kalbi & eggs, and whichever fancy chicken thing my sister & niece ate, everything was really good & everyone left full (: As far as service goes, our waiter Eddie was awesome. So friendly & fun, very personable. The busboy was quick with the refills & the cashier was friendly as well. We'll be back! read more

Came here on a late Sunday afternoon with a friend. There was no wait and our hostess seated us immediately. Nice decor, clean, and quiet since it wasn't rush hour. I tried to come here once when they first opened. So glad there aren't hour-and-a-half waits anymore. We ordered the Strawberry Whipped Cream and Macadamia Nuts Buttermilk Pancakes and Florentine Eggs Benedict with soft boiled eggs (we like our eggs runny!). The Florentine Eggs Benedict was tasty! It came on top of a toasted English muffin with spinach and mushrooms. Not going to lie, I drenched it with Tobasco sauce, because the eggs benedicts I've had have been bland. Egg 'n Things Ala Moana did a better job than some of the other brunch places on the island. I didn't care much for the potatoes, though. The seasoning looked like cheese dust or something...which it wasn't. (Learn to serve some good ol' fashion home fries!) The buttermilk pancakes, though...they were out-of-this-world! Five fluffy pancakes were topped with strawberries and a tower of whipped cream. There are three types of syrups to pair with the pancakes--maple, coconut, and guava. I tried both the coconut and guava. They were amazing, but the pancakes by itself were so good you don't even need syrup! These were fluffy and light as air. Not literally, thank goodness. I'm also so tired of crumbly, bread-like pancakes. I'm so glad that Eggs 'n Things gets it right! Our servers were so amazing! Attentive and always checking up on us. When I wanted to pack our leftover pancakes, they asked me which syrups I would like to take home. Tip: 10% Kama'aina discount and 15% student discount when you show your ID(s)! read more

If this review was based just on the service, I would give our wonderful young lady server 6 stars. She was very pleasant, attentive, and she helped make our dinning experience somewhat bearable. On to the food, in Hawaii, I should never have to pay over $5.95 for a single slice of papaya for one. This is the Alamoana location, right? Please keep the tourist prices in Waikiki. My goodness. Just for comparison's sake, I went to a much more upscale restaurant for breakfast recently and had a $3 slice of papaya, which was also served with some fresh berries on the side. I had a super bland crab cake benedict and my spouse had a ridiculously thin looking "waffle" with sliced bananas on top, which probably coulda passed for a thin pancake. Paid over $40 for breakfast with tip and left so disappointed. When they were located on the top of Waikiki, across the street of the old Jack in a Box, I remembered that their breakfast was pretty good. This was a destination place for breakfast when I was in college. Well thinking back, I did go there quite a bit after imbibing a bit too much, so quite possibly, my memory might be drunk biased. Oh well, moving on and I'll probably never return. Boo. read more

Don't order the fried rice, unless you love huge chunks of celery in them!! It was horrible! (Sorry!) read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - Huge chunks of celery in fried rice.... Not a fan! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

The prices are pretty high for the quality of food you receive. The service was fine, and there's always someone walking around filling up your cup of coffee. But what really matters is the food: -Portuguese Sausage & Over-easy eggs- Sausage was tasty, Eggs tasted way too buttery and were more like sunny-side-up eggs! Definitely lacking in presentation, but I guess there's not much you can do with a few slices of sausage and 2 eggs. Maybe some garnish? A side of fruit? -Strawberry Pancakes- Mac nuts are a nice touch, but if you're not a huge fan of whipped cream, ask for less, cause they pile it on high. This dish tasted like 5 normal pancakes topped with cooked frozen strawberries and a heaping mound of whipped cream. I scraped most of it off and made a snowman at the end of the meal! -Side of Mac-Nut pancakes- not bad, not mind blowing. it tastes like they sprinkle in some mac nuts into the pancake batter as it cooks, and then they top it with more chopped mac nuts. My friends ordered a Loco Moco, which they liked, and an omelet. The omelet was decent sized and looked pretty good. But again, that was it on the plate! I wish the prices were more reasonable, because you shouldn't have to pay $60 for a breakfast for 4 people eating average food. read more

Forgot to check in last night about 9 pm. My friends ordered waffles but they were told it would take a while since they have only one waffle iron! The food is just okay and the portions are small. Definitely not worth the price. read more
