A large meal with relatively cheap price. So far this is the best Brunch I've seen in the downtown area. Food is not as expensive as Yolk and you don't have to line up and wait for your call at weekends. I got a face-big steak omelette which comes with pancakes and large hashbrowns with $13. My husband got skirt steak that comes with 2 eggs, pancakes and a bowl fresh fruits with $19. Really satisfactory. Went in here for lunch one day, to grab a quick bite to eat. Was allowed to sit wherever I wanted, most tables were dirty. Anyways, ordered the Philly Cheese steak sandwich, which came with fries and a complimentary soup of my choice. Service was very lack luster, the dinning room only had about 4-5 tables tops around 1-2pm on a Friday. Guy server took the order, brought my water which had what looked to be bread floating in it, or something like that. Didn't drink it, food came out, was never given silverware or any napkins. Had to flag down a busboy to get some silverware/napkins, otherwise I would've just sat there. Something which I suppose is out of their control, but even though I was eating inside there were so many damn flies inside the restaurant, it felt as if I was eating outside and was getting attacked. Great place for cheap and super filling brunch. I don't normally crave breakfast food but when I want some pancakes for cheap I come here. The single egg for $5 comes with your choice of hashbrowns or fruit AND pancakes, toast or english muffin. This deal alone makes the food absolute steal, but on top of that the portions for normal entrees are humongous; one entree can easily be shared between two people. I've tried their nutella crepes, country fried chicken & eggs and build-your-own omelette. They were all decent, but nothing blew my mind. I didn't like the sausage gravy that came with the chicken & eggs very much; I preferred the gravy that they used to serve in my college dorm! I didn't really like the philly cheese steak because it wasn't really a cheese steak (which I consider thin slices of tender fatty fall apart meat) but rather thick, too chewy chunks of meat on bread + cheese. Service here is friendly but just about every time I've eaten here they've forgotten to give us something: utensils, syrup, or they only sprinkle powdered sugar over half our orders of pancakes. I've had pumpkin pancakes all over this city - these are the best! The pancakes are are perfectly spiced so that you can actually taste the spices, they're as fluffy as they can be considering there's Pumpkin in the batter (you know how sometimes pumpkin pancakes can be either too dense or fluffy but no taste - these are neither) Now the piece de resistance - PUMPKIN MARSCAPONE topping. OMG!!!SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!! I can't stand when restaurants ruin the taste of their pancakes with whip cream, pecans, too much syrup, too much maple flavor....In this case the topping draws out the flavors of the gentle spices in the pumpkin pancakes. Good food and ambience..not super crowded either which is good. First, the food was really good! We got the skillet and eggs Benedict both made well and tasty! I would definitely return for the food. The service, on the other hand, was not great. The waiter did not give utensils, we had to ask for them. He clearly saw my empty water glass and did not return once to refill. So, so disappointing! My wife and I live in the building and are not thrilled with the other neighborhood choices for breakfast. We drive to Wishbone ( 5 stars) or Pancake House on Clark (5 stars) for a good meal. We are very excited to have anew place for breakfast in our own building. Our first impression was great. A very friendly hostess greeted us with enthusiasm and seated us in the best booth in the place. It went downhill fast. First , the decor: it is about as boring as humanly possible - how many shades of beige can you name? Second, the service: several minutes before anyone showed up with water or coffee -- and then it was only water. Several more minutes before a sour-faced, frowning waitress arrived and asked for our order. Again, no offer of coffee. When we asked for coffee and warmed up milk, she brought the coffee but not the milk. Finally, we got our water and coffee and milk -- and we had been seated for at least ten minutes by that time. We had to ask throughout the meal when we needed more water or coffee - it was never offered (we did notice another waitress in the place who always had a smile - our horrible service experience was probably attributable to the unlucky assignment of the waitress). Third, the food - terrible for a breakfast place. I probably should not have ordered Eggs Benedict in such a place but I did. I will admit the eggs were perfectly done but every other aspect of the order was horrible. The english muffin was doughy, the ham was thick and chewy and the hollandaise was horrible and way too much of it for the order. But there are a lot of good breakfast placed who cannot do a good EB, so that is not the problem. My wife got a skillet breakfast, with eggs "sunny side up/soft yolk." The eggs came "sunny side up/extra hard yolk." If there had been anyone around to complain to, we would have sent them back but no one in sight. Her english muffin was also horrible. They are probably both cheap english muffins and then kept frozen. Just like some of the other establishments in the 680 Lake Shore building that do not seem to care about excellence because of the captive crowd in the building and the neighborhood (yes, Treasure Island, I am referring to you). Eggs will probably do well without having to be good. Its a shame. read more

Tigah & family came here for Sunday lunch and ordered the gyro platter and crepes with bananas, strawberries and whipped cream. The gyro was properly overstuffed with meat. It was nice that the tzatziki sauce came on the side. It also came with a complimentary cup of soup which was cream of chicken and rice that day. Tigah's cubs loved the soup. Two of the cubs demanded their own crepe plate which was a big mistake. One crepe plate could easily feed 3 adults. There were 3 big crepes per order. Had 6 crepes rolls total and 4.5 of them were left uneaten. The crepes themselves were good but we were all disappointed that the bananas did not taste or look fresh. While the strawberries were fresh (though not very much of them) the bananas looked like they had been frozen and then thawed. The crepes were stuffed mostly with these thawed bananas. Bananas are so cheap, how could they not slice them fresh? Tigah has to take a star off and give a tsk, tsk! on the banana situation. The restaurant itself was clean, bright and cheerful. First time here so I have no comparison to any other experience. Decor was clean and gives off the appearance of just being opened. My love ordered the Hollywood Omelette and I ordered the Popeye Frittata. His omelette had way, WAY too much garlic that overpowered everything and could not taste anything else. The omelette itself had a weird texture and we were not sure if it was just overcooked or the combination of the additional fat (from the avocado) made it that way. My frittata came in a skillet which looked more like a hash brown scramble versus a frittata. Our sever was no where to be found and never checked in on us. Refills were never given until a busser came around to clear our plates and asked my partner if he wanted a refill. Coffee was never refilled. Never brought the check to us either even though our table had been cleared for 15+ minutes. Needless to say that we won't be back. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place! It's located not too far from where I live so I love to come here every weekend (if I can) and have a nice meal. They have a large variety of breakfast and lunch meals and they're all delicious! So far I have tried all of their omelettes and frittatas. They sandwiches and burgers are also very good! Service is fast and polite. All of them work as a team to make sure you have a pleasant stay. Also very reasonably priced. I went with a friend here for breakfast. She was raving about it and I always love a new place to try. We were seated right away and got coffee and water right away. I ordered an omelette with fruit and pancakes. My friend ordered the same thing. It was ready super fast. The portion sizes were pretty big. I guess all of their employees are trained to think all black people deliver for door dash or Uber eats.. I was highly offended when upon visiting here. I've been here before and the service was mediocre but since it's busy in the city I decided to come back and grab brunch quickly. Well, I waited for the host for 5+ minutes employees and waitresses just walking pass nobody acknowledged me and after waiting for so long, I decided to look around the corner and the host is leaning against the counter near the coffee machine. She sees me and walks to the kitchen and than comes to the front. When she comes she says are you picking up someone's order? I said, excuse me? I'm waiting to be seated. I was very confused as to why she would think I'm picking up someone's order when I have a floral dress with a bold-color purse not a hot bag for food deliveries. I felt insulted, because what do you think only black people come in for door dash and Uber eats deliveries?? I told her I'll go somewhere else that was offensive. No apology given she says okay. So I called the store to speak with the manager but was told he was busy with orders in the back. So I decided to post this here and I'll be calling the city to file a complaint for what I feel was discrimination or cultural insensitivity. read more
