Vietnamese coffee and the apple and salted caramel toastie
Wenna S.

Eggless is such a treat. I do enjoy the process of going out for a late dessert, a sweet Vietnamese coffee and seeing what new things are on the menu. I love that eggless changes the menu up regularly, so you never know what new options you will have. The staff are friendly and sociable, and are happy to discuss what their personal favourite items are. The vibe is cool, the coffee is good, the desserts are indulgent without being too sweet. What more does one need?

Tasting plate! Worth it!

Whilst expecting a wait of up to an hr we were pleasantly surprised it only took a few minutes and even then we enjoyed our moment under the outside heater on our comfy cushions. Inside was packed and pretty loud but it added to the atmosphere! The owner was funny, charming and a charismatic host popping puns into the convo like a pro. When the food came we were all super excited to try all the weird and wonderful combinations of cakes a flavors. The panna cotta was a winner for me whilst the pan dan...pan dang, pan thang cake won over my usually unadventurous boyfriends pallete. The prices were a teensy bit higher than the usual coffee shops were used to but more than justified the amazing food we were lucky enough to be able to try. Heaps of love for this place and the rotating menu means we'll be back for sure!

The last review pretty much says it all in terms of what Eggless has to offer. I was introduced to this place more than a year ago and was pleasantly surprised to have a place that didn't serve your atypical cheese cakes and muffins. Eggless is really popular, so much so that I almost fear to drive over as it is almost certain that there will be a queue of people waiting outside just to get seats. Still, it is usually worth the wait once you get in and I highly recommend it for people who are looking to spend some time sitting down to just hang out and chit chat. The owner is very friendly and attentive. He will usually come over to your table, especially if he has never seen you before to ask you how things are going and how you are liking your meal. Their menu is great for strict vegetarians, vegans and people who are gluten intolerant and they also have new things to try every month. Though the servings aren't huge, the quality of their desserts is first class which is the way I feel all desserts should be. Quality over quantity, though their portions aren't so small that you'll leave unsatisfied. They also have a good selection of teas and coffees. Normally when I'm there I will get the Moroccan mint tea, which is a nice refreshing tea that helps to wash down the sweetness of the dessert once you are finished. I give Eggless 2 thumbs up, and my only wish is that they weren't so freaking popular so that I could go there more often!

So so so sooo good that I am waiting to go again next month. The most amazing thing about this place is the menu changes every month and they are so Innovate that you just keep on trying and never disappoint yourself. Must try for every vegetarian

Mmmmmm desserrttttttt

Eggless Dessert Cafe is one of the best cafes ever! With a new menu every month there is always something new to try. Best Teh Tarik outside of Malaysia and the roti and spring rolls are amazing! I might be biased when I say that the staff are some of the best people ever - because I am one...but that just means I know for sure!

The menu changes monthly, based on seasonal ingredients. While it may be on a slightly more pricey side, portions are just right. I've noticed takeaways so take a while, but it's still worth the wait. The tasting platter is the most worth price wise and being able to try most of the desserts of that month. Owners are chatty and cheerful, attentive despite the busy crowd. Seems to get more crowded towards the last 2 hours, so either book or go early.

OK for vegans but it's no Brunettis. Got a seed in my sticky date. Doesn't live up to the hype or the queue out the door.

Dear Daisy, I'm…read morewriting this review to you today to let you know that I very much appreciated your hospitality today over lunch. You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Imagine the excitement coursing through my veins when a brand spanking new cafe (with all the…read morehipster/trendy trimmings) opens up 5 doors down from my house, and dearest Daisy, you passed my expectations for a local with flying colours. Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!

Suburban cafe hidden on a side street off a main road? Check…read more All day breakfasts? Check. Chef with a dessert loving fangirl population spanning most of Adelaide? Check. This is Chef Quang's new venture after he shut the doors to his Devour Dessert Bar in July earlier this year and it's starting to make me wonder why he didn't explore savoury any earlier in his career! Now any chocoholic out there knows how good Devour's desserts are smokin' but trust me when I say that his breakfast menu is one to make you swoon. From bircher muesli to a multitude of eggy delights there is something to suit every brunch muncher. Don't forget to check the specials of the day either! My dining companions excitedly devoured corn fritters with salsa, baked eggs and a steak sandwich but I knew I had won the food envy stakes that day with my poached eggs on rye with smashed avo, mushrooms and pesto dressing. Eggs were perfectly cooked and everything was fresh and filling with the perfect bread to egg-goo ratio. Coffee lovers will find 5 Senses here and cold drip, filter and more if you fancy. Service is incredibly quick and direct to your table and the atmosphere is light and not too busy (yet). And for all those dessert fangirls out there don't worry, these guys are now shutting at their cafe at 4pm everyday and re-opening as a dessert bar from 6pm every night.

We ordered takeaway from here which included 2x small pizzas and a regular chips. When I initially…read morephoned up, I was told that it would be 15-20 minutes, so I left about 20 minutes after calling since they were around the corner (3 minute drive, or so) and got there to find the order was not yet ready. I was told that it would be 5 more minutes, but instead ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes in-store and saw what seemed to be my pizzas just being put in the oven. Putting this into perspective, there only seemed to be one large pizza in the oven before mine. When the order was finally ready, the pizzas were handed to me and the regular chips were taken out of the hot bag, which I never actually saw go in the hot bag to begin with. So I went on my merry way, happy that I finally got my order. Once back home and ready to eat, we first tried the chips and found they were very bland, dry and almost cold, as if they had just been heated in an oven, and the sauce that came with it was some type of brown aioli which was not nice at all - straight into the bin. Moving on to the pizzas, now, I'll give credit to the fact they had a reasonable amount of toppings on them and in no way were lacking, but when I went to take a bite out of every piece, the topping completely slid off the pizza. The base was very average and didn't have much flavour, and the crust was burnt black to an inch of its life. I still finished my pizza given that I'd just paid $14 for it, but the other one was about half finished until it joined the chips in the bin. In saying this, I think if the ingredients were improved and weren't so flavourless, then it wouldn't have mattered so much. Another thing that was a little annoying was that I had to wait in-store even longer, almost double the time, when they could have just told me 25-30 minutes over the phone and the expectation would have been set there. To be fair, this isn't the worst I've had and I've given some credit where due hence the 2 stars. However, after spending $35 in total, it was quite disappointing and I can't say I'll be going back. ...and please, remove the hot chips off the menu.

Seems like I had a better experience than the other two reviewers…read more I went here because I had bought a special deal voucher for them. A wine and small pizza or pasta each with greek salad and garlic bread to share for $30. Very good value. The pizzas on the other tables looked good although I do note that they use the typical take-away pizza ham that is all cut up in uniform sizes. The garlic bread and wine came out first. Garlic bread wasn't traditional garlic bread but rather, a pizza flatbread with garlic and cheese. It was tasty but I thought we would get traditional garlic bread. The wine was fine. I had the margarita pizza. I always judge pizza places by their ability to produce a well made margarita pizza. Their pizza was good although the base was a little thick for my taste - I like nice thin bases. The base was nice and crunchy with a soft pillow on top - not doughy or dry which was great. Also wasn't too tough either. For a "normal" medium base, it was quite tasty. However, the pizza was so salty!! It's now been about two hours and I'm still guzzling water! My friend ordered a pasta dish. It was huge but my friend said it was very tasty - she almost finished it but not quite. She was very satisfied. The place was busy with a big family taking the main table and a few other couples. The staff were friendly, courteous and attentive. For the price we paid, we can't really complain - it was good enough for the price but it was very very salty.
