An old menu. They do more now.

Consistently good coffee. Have had many over the years. High-end machine, their own roasted beans and experienced baristas account for the quality. Small inside with a few seats outside, expect this place to be very busy before/during peak hour. Has a good atmosphere and plays some chilled beats. You'll note a lot of emergency service workers getting takeaways, always a good sign, they know good coffee. Nothing comes close in this part of Lockleys/Findon area.

Breakfast, coffees, lunch and dinner are all options for Liquid, service is nice and fast and done with a smile, the full bar is also something nice for such a small business. Always busy with lots of different people having different foods all day makes it interesting, seeing groups have scotch at 9am is always interesting as well as coffees. Next time you're in the area and feeling like something to eat or drink pop in on the happy team at Liquid and grab something to eat.

A friend of mine from the eastern suburbs calls Adelaide's West Terrace 'The Wall'…read more 'There's nothing out there, mate,' he'll tell you, referring to the vast cultural desert between the West Park Lands and the sea. He's wrong, of course, on so many counts it doesn't matter. One of these counts is Liquid Espresso, a relatively new cafe in one of the small retail redevelopments that have sprung up on Grange Road. This establishment features the magic ingredient which usually can lift a cafe from the mundane to the spectacularly good. I speak of a gifted chef, in this case an Italian one. I dined here today in the company of an Italian friend, whose judgement in the matter of Continental food is spot on. We shared a chicken Caesar salad, and I have to say, I've rarely had better. The greens were crisp, almost still dewy, and the egg perfectly poached and complimented by fresh shavings of Parmesan cheese with slivers of bacon and lashings of anchovy. The slices of grilled chicken breast were succulent, warm and slightly toasted, and the homemade Caesar sauce drizzled over the lot was perfect - tasty and tart without overwhelming the variety of other flavours. The croutons were a little hard, though. I had started with a sausage roll and sauce. Call me unsophisticated, but a good sausage roll is a delightful start to most meals, except perhaps breakfast. Sadly, this item seems not to have been touched by the chef's wand. The pastry was fine and flaky, but the all-important filling was a disappointment. Instead of a fat, juicy finger of spicy pork sausage meat, this stuff, while juicy enough, was insipid, almost grey, and I'd say contained a lot of breadcrumbs. Even the tomato sauce was generic. So a bare pass on the sausage roll brings down the overall score. However, the legend of Italian cuisine wasn't built on stodgy pastries, so order up on the traditional items with confidence. The prices are very fair, especially considering the quality on offer. The $10 pasta night looks like a real treat, ditto the burger night. Sadly, we had to go before trying the coffee, but it smelled great. The modern hard-surfaced decor makes for a bit of noise, so Liquid Espresso is possibly not the venue for a candle-lit romantic interlude. On a Monday afternoon, the place was quietly buzzing with happy customers - I'll say no more, except that the smallish carpark was full. That's the price of fame, but there is plenty of parking nearby.

You could easily miss…read morethis place but I'm really glad I didn't - after rounding up a group of colleagues to try my 'new discovery', we eagerly trotted here - not knowing what to expect! We were pleasantly surprised by the adorable little set-up; it looks just like a house, with a few chairs and tables on the front patio. Cute and welcoming, the affordable menu soon had our taste buds tingling. Although there aren't a huge amount of options, that didn't stop me wanting to try 'one of everything' - but with limited stomach space i had to decide on something! I selected the spicy pork with rice and an iced latte - coming to only $12.50! One of my buddies ordered the glass noodles and another the pan fried dumplings. The meals arrived in a good amount of time and all of the serves were generous, tasty and all round good! I'm super glad that I found this lovely little place and I'm looking forward to heading back to try more!

We paid then took a seat outside in the front chatting while waiting for our orders. it wasn't taking too long before we were served, the presentation of food was absolutely beautiful with chopsticks and spoons nicely placed on the side together with a piece of paper napkin (very attention to details!), plus the colour, the smell...everything made me wanna drool! I was literally the first that finished the dish, cos yummy food never stays long is what i believe especially when im hungry at lunch oclock. The kimchi and pork slices were stir fried to perfection cos the flavor was so rich (a little bit spicy which i like and it gave me a good kick!), the meat was tender - very easy to chew (dont worry if you have bad teeth!). the rice had beautiful texture as it was just perfectly cooked (meaning not too soft and not hard - i'd say 'quality rice" is what it is), it came with sesame seeds and other flavored tiny little things sprinkled on top...last but not least, there was a bit of salad which refreshed my taste bud before and after the dish. overall, i'd be keen to revisit and try something different - maybe kimchi dumplings for a work lunch!

Not that I have a problem with cute scooters, I just assumed it'd be over-priced and only serve rocket and pumpkin wraps and peppermint tea. I was wrong. I wildly underestimated Modinetti. I think this is the best place I've eaten in ages! Modinetti does breakfast and lunch - good for the quick stop or a lazier magazine reading morning. The atmosphere inside is pleasant and laid-back and I was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a nice shady outdoor seating area out the back. The inside area is really lovely without being too over-considered. The staff are friendly but not forced. There is a nice buzz in the place - I overheard lots of friendly gossip and chitter chatter. Now for my favourite part - the menu. It's all Casalinga Italian - 'casalinga' meaning domestic or homemade. The dishes are all fairly basic but delicious - simple combinations of flavours that you wouldn't get at many Italian restaurants. There is a range of vegan and gluten free options. Everything is incredibly cheap - $6 for a medium sized soup or a breakfast dish or a little pizza or a salad. $7 for a focaccia. This morning I had the Brodo - a clear broth with chicken parmesan meatballs. It was light and refreshing, with a light sprinkle of herbs and a crusty piece of sourdough toasted with olive oil. Cracked pepper and parmesan on top. The perfect summer lunch. I can't wait to come back here, will have to try and wake early enough for breakfast. My only criticism is that I wish it were open on Sunday mornings!
