The composition of the dish was well balanced, multi-layered and aesthetically pleasing. We also tried the baked egg with scallops- very savory and hot! Well balanced with the creamy poached eggs and cauliflower purée at the bottom paired with the crunchy pangrattato and crispy bacon. Would definitely order again Delicious!! Their coffee is excellent - super smooth. We were lucky to sit upstairs at the bar seating and witnessed them roasting their own coffee beans. No wonder the coffee is so tasty. I just wish the serving size was bigger so I could have more haha.

The place was very light and airy. We sat on the ground level, but there is also an indoor balcony area and a couple outdoor tables. I was very happy with the bloody Mary, got a good depth of flavor and a moderate spicy level. I LOVED the whipped avo. It was basically a deconstructed avocado toast. The avo was so light and fluffy and tangy, absolutely amazing on its own, but then to pair it with the feta, pickled rhubarb and the beautiful artisan toast - I ate every last crumb and wished there were more.

Breakfast, coffees, lunch and dinner are all options for Liquid, service is nice and fast and done with a smile, the full bar is also something nice for such a small business. Always busy with lots of different people having different foods all day makes it interesting, seeing groups have scotch at 9am is always interesting as well as coffees. Next time you're in the area and feeling like something to eat or drink pop in on the happy team at Liquid and grab something to eat.

A friend of mine from the eastern suburbs calls Adelaide's West Terrace 'The Wall'…read more 'There's nothing out there, mate,' he'll tell you, referring to the vast cultural desert between the West Park Lands and the sea. He's wrong, of course, on so many counts it doesn't matter. One of these counts is Liquid Espresso, a relatively new cafe in one of the small retail redevelopments that have sprung up on Grange Road. This establishment features the magic ingredient which usually can lift a cafe from the mundane to the spectacularly good. I speak of a gifted chef, in this case an Italian one. I dined here today in the company of an Italian friend, whose judgement in the matter of Continental food is spot on. We shared a chicken Caesar salad, and I have to say, I've rarely had better. The greens were crisp, almost still dewy, and the egg perfectly poached and complimented by fresh shavings of Parmesan cheese with slivers of bacon and lashings of anchovy. The slices of grilled chicken breast were succulent, warm and slightly toasted, and the homemade Caesar sauce drizzled over the lot was perfect - tasty and tart without overwhelming the variety of other flavours. The croutons were a little hard, though. I had started with a sausage roll and sauce. Call me unsophisticated, but a good sausage roll is a delightful start to most meals, except perhaps breakfast. Sadly, this item seems not to have been touched by the chef's wand. The pastry was fine and flaky, but the all-important filling was a disappointment. Instead of a fat, juicy finger of spicy pork sausage meat, this stuff, while juicy enough, was insipid, almost grey, and I'd say contained a lot of breadcrumbs. Even the tomato sauce was generic. So a bare pass on the sausage roll brings down the overall score. However, the legend of Italian cuisine wasn't built on stodgy pastries, so order up on the traditional items with confidence. The prices are very fair, especially considering the quality on offer. The $10 pasta night looks like a real treat, ditto the burger night. Sadly, we had to go before trying the coffee, but it smelled great. The modern hard-surfaced decor makes for a bit of noise, so Liquid Espresso is possibly not the venue for a candle-lit romantic interlude. On a Monday afternoon, the place was quietly buzzing with happy customers - I'll say no more, except that the smallish carpark was full. That's the price of fame, but there is plenty of parking nearby.

You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!

What baffled me was is the way nearly everyone who walked through the door was greeted by name and "same again?" Daniel and Vince are the faces and personality behind coffee by the beans. They live and breathe coffee, but know that it's the people who drink it that are the important factor to success. They practice what they preach and are "always willing to chat" - spending time engaging everyone who walks through the door. If only every business learnt from these guys! But don't get me wrong, the coffee is top notch here. A new single origin on offer every month, and small batch experimentals available to take home with you. Uninhibited, unpretentious, uh-mazing place for a takeaway coffee or quick newspaper read and coffee in a suburb where you have to drive 15 minutes either way to stumble across something as high quality. Don't expect lunch or much food - just go for the coffee and be impressed.
