Came for lunch 2 days after a rave review in The Advertiser, no wonder the place is well patronised. Sunny spring day at last and this is the first time they were able to set a few table outdoors. The row of wooden structures seperating the car park and entrance did not provide sufficient sun cover but is good enough for a spring day. The cafe is in a huge warehouse structure and it occupies about half of the space. It is located near Marion road and right across from TAFE on Richmond road. Great location indeed. There's plenty of parking space but we parked on the side street. The staff were very friendly and over attentive over the course of our stay for lunch. We sensed that we need to leave when they got really busy when we finished our lunch. They served all day breakfast and vegetarians are well catered for. We shared a plate ofroasted pumpkin on toast, chilli kale, baba ganouch, roasted chick peas etc and stuffed zucchini flowers with radicchio, fennel and other salad greens, and a recommended bowl of fried sweet potato chips which is not listed on the menu. All 3 dishes were well presented and the chips were crispy and sweet. Batter on The zucchini flowers were thin and crispy. Nothing to fault all the 3 plates of food. We just could not pass up the New York cheesecake to finish, it was light and not too sweet. We would love to have coffee with it but the first lot were just luke warm so we passed on that. Toilet is entered from outside and not sure how well it would be in the wet months. There are communal tables and lots of tables inside the cafe as well as a lounge set seating in one corner. The cafe should do well with its location and with same chef creating lots of interesting combinations of dishes.

This café on Richmond Road got rave reviews in the Adelaide Advertiser and good on the 2 young women who set this up in a huge warehouse and incorporated studios for rent by local artists. The place has no signage so it's easy to miss. It has no competition nearby so I think this contributes to its busyness. I have been 3 times to support this local business and taken others with me. Although you get greeted the service lacks that extra dimension like asking if you'd like another coffee etc when they take the plates. The coffee is not great and although they are going for the creative food look I found the hotcakes overly sweet with a sponge cake texture and my friend had a scrambled egg dish piled up on a plate that was too small and only achieved hiding the oily hash browns. There is lots of seating but I think the retro look has been done to death. This place is popular so good on them. I doubt if I'll go back as there are places in other suburbs that I'm happy to drive a little further to go to but if you have been there and love it - great! If you haven't been yet give it a try to see for yourself

Great space just out of the city. Dare I say it but it has a real Melbourne suburbs vibe going on.

Really good food and coffee. However...all the girls that work there always wear see through tops or no bra. Please keep it classy.

The first thing I noticed was an older ethnic man standing behind the front counter, talking out loud as if to a family member but it was a customer. This was the first snapshot into the almost cult following the cafe has encountered and with service like that, being treated as if part of the family (I which I had a share in the biz) who wouldn't go back! You want panini they got it and other varieties of bread, you want cheese to go with it, no problem which one would you like! It's like a mini central market or the markets of Province right here, seriously it's got everything and anything sweet or savoury. Easy parking and located along the tramline with the stop almost directly out the front, no pushing and jostling to get there as it's away from the Jetty Rd mayhem, a great location to catch up with friends. It's definitely a destination. Some people move house to be in the school zone they want to send their kids to or want to be closer to the doctors they visit or their families...I want to live closer to this place, my diet would be out the window but who cares, this is the life!

Thats excellent customer satisfaction right there. The coffee itself was just at the right temperature to drink straight away; supurb! The taste isnt something out of this world, however it has a almost spicy and undiscribable taste to it, very unique blend of flavours that I havent tried before. Very impressive establishment. Would recommend to pop by, but remember to bring cash! Minimum efpos is 5 dollars.

What baffled me was is the way nearly everyone who walked through the door was greeted by name and "same again?" Daniel and Vince are the faces and personality behind coffee by the beans. They live and breathe coffee, but know that it's the people who drink it that are the important factor to success. They practice what they preach and are "always willing to chat" - spending time engaging everyone who walks through the door. If only every business learnt from these guys! But don't get me wrong, the coffee is top notch here. A new single origin on offer every month, and small batch experimentals available to take home with you. Uninhibited, unpretentious, uh-mazing place for a takeaway coffee or quick newspaper read and coffee in a suburb where you have to drive 15 minutes either way to stumble across something as high quality. Don't expect lunch or much food - just go for the coffee and be impressed.

You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!
